《Era: Dawn of the New Gods》Chapter 249: Downhill Demon

Hilda, the Giantess that was to face Daisuke was in a bedroom made for people her size watching Daisuke’s previous fight. She kept rewatching and rewatching the 3D video from various angles, trying to find any hint as to what Daisuke did to win. She came up empty. She sent a message to her sponsor requesting the details of Daisuke.
Her sponsor was one of those that were interested in the competition’s winnings. He requested Daisuke’s information and paid 1000 Yuans to get the price of the information. This was done because the price of the information of a contestant said a lot about the contestant.
The sponsor took in a sharp breath as he looked at the price of the information. It cost 100,000 Yuans to get the information. This had a few meanings. Either Daisuke had a weakness that could be easily exploited if it was known, or Daisuke had a strength that would make him really weak if it was countered, or that Daisuke was just so powerful that his information cost a lot to give.
The cost of information for a regular contestant cost between 2,000 – 12,000 Yuans but seeing a whole 100,000 caused the sponsor to realize that Daisuke was one of the most likely winners of his bracket. The sponsor had a total of 134,000 Yuans to use throughout the competition and he wasn’t too keen on spending most of it on information that might just reveal that Daisuke was a beast beyond compare.
Luckily for him, he had other methods. He put his hand in his pocket and brought out a piece of paper with some inscriptions on it. He passed his energy into the paper and it was set alight by a blue flame
The smoke of the flame formed the head of person that said “Eugene, it’s been a while, calling in your favor I see”. Eugene nodded and said “Hilda will be fighting a person named Daisuke. I would like to know anything you can find out about him”.

The smoke head said “Sure, I’ll have the answer in a few hours”. Eugene nodded and the smoke head dispersed.
…
Over on Mira’s side, Mira said to Daisuke “My next opponent didn’t show much. He is a hydrogen Elementalist, what kind of things do you think he can do?”
Daisuke said “Let’s see his fight first”. Tian displayed the fight between Denver, the hydrogen Elementalist and the Water Elf. When they were done watching Daisuke said “That’s a bad match up but then again it just proves the lack of connection between the Elf and the water it produces”.
Daisuke said “Hydrogen is one of the elements in water. It is highly combustible too but those are just the basic uses of the element. I assume that this person will be able to create solid hydrogen and who knows what else he can make. You’ll just have to see how the fight goes when you face him, I’m no scientist. From what I can see there is not much he can do to you”.
Tian said “He will probably know about your diamond but knowing what you can do doesn’t really help in anyway. I feel you have a good chance of winning. Now, to my opponent”.
A new hologram showed the stage where Tian fought. There were two elevated platforms on which two contenders stood. On one side was a 5 foot 9 inch tall Arabian. She was a [Rank 25 Hero: Peak Human (Leonidas)].
She wore a full body armor made of a green metal with various patterns carved on it that seemed to move. The armor covered her whole body and the helmet featured no holes; no holes for eyes nose or mouth. The armor featured a large golden circle printed on the chest showing that the peak human was sponsored by Avatari. She held a smooth golden spear in her right hand a short sword was strapped to her waist in a black sheath.

Her opponent on the other platform was a tall 7 foot figure with grey skin that had black bone spikes protruding from different spots around her body. Her teeth were all pointy like a sharks and the whites of a red eyes were black. She was a [Rank 27 Insanitrudine (Mad Demon)].
Mira’s eye perked when she realized that the demon was at Rank 27. A fellow peak mythical rank person was fighting; this would be the competitor she had to beat to ensure that she had grown during the time after the WW3 event.
The demon wore a body suit made of rocks, similar to the one Mira used to make when she first evolved. The host gave a simple introduction of the two contenders and started the fight. The two contestants jumped down from their platforms and landed on the battle stage.
They immediately dashed toward each other proving that they had similar fighting styles. The peak human had her spear poised in front of her and the demon had her clawed and spiked palms trained on her opponent.
The spikes that faced the peak human instantly extended, aiming to impale the woman. The peak human performed a series of fast spear thrusts that shattered the spikes aimed at her vital organs while the other spikes were left for her armor to handle.
Her armor held up against most of the spikes with only a few managing to pierce it but they didn’t reach her body. The demon instantly shrunk until she was half her height. She kept shrinking and shrinking until she was completely gone. The deflected spikes and the spikes on the Peak Human’s armor began to rapidly grow grey flesh. One of the spikes lodged in the golden armor grew incredibly fast and formed the body of the Mad demon.
The demon extended her spikes again as she tried to hug the peak human. The peak human swiftly removed the spikes in her armor and jumped back to the side while slicing a few of the spikes that came toward her.
The demon looked at the peak human and smiled. She snapped her fingers and the broken spikes began to grow grey skin. The grey skin grew 8 more spikes as they transformed into different version of the demon. Some versions were more muscular, some were shorter, some were less spiky, some leaner, etc.
They all dashed toward the peak human that was surprised at the broken skill that the demon had. The larger ones grew their spikes and made them curve to protect themselves. The smaller ones created spikes with sharpened edges like knives. The lean ones grew out long spikes from different parts of their body. They pulled the long spikes out and positioned themselves for a throw.
A coating of energy that looked like white noise with darker shades spread on the spiked demons as their speed and power increased, cracking the reinforced ground that they ran on even though it was enhanced by Chao Feng. The peak human smiled as the demons surrounded her.
The 3 lean demons threw their spikes that were basically javelins at this point toward the peak human. The air screamed and space cracked as they sailed towards the peak human.
An illusionary version of the peak human, resembling an afterimage, bent slightly distinguishing itself from the real figure of the peak human and swung her spear to counter the three javelins. The javelins were sent spinning away from the peak human towards the warped versions of herself.
The javelins instantly fused with the demons that they hit without harming them. The demon smirked and snapped her fingers as the other versions of herself reached the right distance for close combat…
…But nothing happened and this was where things began to go downhill for the demon.
