《Era: Dawn of the New Gods》Chapter 164: Mutant: Perfect Chimera/Gene Lord

[Mutant: Perfect Chimera/Gene Lord: Mutants are races that do not occur naturally. Depending on the cause and type of mutation, mutants can be either extremely ill equipped for survival or overly equipped for survival.
The Gene Lord is the extinct race option you got by reaching Transcendent rank in one stat and Pinnacle rank in all other stats. Extinct races can only be chosen by one person: if you choose this no one else will get this option.
The Gene Lords are extinct because of their complex genes which could not be fully passed down to their descendants when they mate with other species and because of their rarity which caused no Gene Lord to have a chance to mate with another Gene Lord. Hence when the original Gene Lord dies its race goes extinct until another Gene Lord mutant arrives again.
Gene Lords are also called Perfect Chimeras because of their abilities to take a part of the gene of any living creature and add it to their gene code without suffering any rejection. One of the abilities is called Gene Copying.
To use Gene Copying, the Gene Lord must fuse a part of its body with anything that contains a sufficient amount of the target gene for a certain amount of time. The object with the necessary gene is consumed and the gene structure of the Gene Lord will grow a branch that is identical to the copied gene. (Imagine the single helical chain of a regular gene growing another helical branch).
If the copied gene is too complex compared to the genetic code of the Gene Lord, the assimilation will fail and the branch will fall apart. The total amount of genes (alleles) in the copied branches cannot exceed the amount of genes in the main gene chain.
For instance a Gene Lord that has the same amount of genes as a human (~23,000) cannot copy the genes of a Water Flea (~31,000). And after the Gene Lord copies the genes of a human it cannot copy the genes of any other creature since it would make the amount of genes on the gene branch more than the genes in the main chain.
Gene Lords have the ability to control their bodies on a cellular level. This ability is called Morphing. This is the ability that gives them great combat capacity. Not only does it allow them to move their bodies extremely precisely and control their healing, size, shape, digestion, growth, circulation, etc, it also allows them to instantly manifest the traits of the genes they’ve copied without having to wait for their bodies to grow those traits naturally (slowly). It also allows them to control what traits they show and the ones they don’t show. This ability consumes Biomass when used.

The more proficient a Gene Lord is at Morphing the less Biomass it has to use to maintain and make the body changes and the more freedom it has in manifesting traits.
The second ability that gave the Gene Lords the Perfect Chimera name is the Self Mutation ability. It is the reason why no Gene Lord looks alike. If a Gene Lord constantly retains a trait from a certain gene branch and spends Biomass on the Self Mutation ability, then overtime the allele(s) that represents the trait will be added to their gene chain. The body of the Gene Lord will adapt to the new trait during the period that Self Mutation is used. Depending on the difference between the allele(s) and the allele(s) of the Gene Lord, the Mutation might take more time or even fail, destroying the copied gene branch the allele(s) was from.
After a Self Mutation failure the Gene Lord can copy the gene again and try again at mutation, which might result in success. Failure can be avoided if the Gene Lord guides the adaptation of its body to the trait. This can be done only if the Gene Lord has sufficient knowledge of its body’s cellular structure and performs the correct procedure. A successful Self Mutation results in a permanent physical change that can only be removed by constantly using the Morphing ability, if the change is negative. But if the change is positive, it allows the Gene Lord to have an advantageous trait without spending Biomass to Morph and manifest the trait.
Self Mutation makes the Gene Lord’s chromosome (Gene chain) longer by giving it more genes and hence allows it to copy more genes with Gene Copy.
Due to the unique abilities of Gene Lords that is very capable of self harm, if used without restraint, or when mistakes happen, Gene Lords have certain features to protect themselves from their mistakes when using Morphing and Gene Copying.
Gene Lords can regenerate any tissue involuntarily as long as they have Biomass. Regenerating removes any damage done by Morphing by destroying the parts that a poor Morph created with Nuclear energy and resetting the affected body part to its original state according to the main gene chain of the Gene Lord.
Gene Lords have Nuclear Vacuoles and Radiation Encoders in their cells which allows them to remove a copied gene branch by destroying it with the nuclear radiation if they please. This feature can be used to remove copied genes that are unwanted and is also what the body of the Gene Lord uses to create gene branches and for mutation.
The cells of Gene Lords are impervious to radiations hence they can only be changed with the Self Mutation and Gene Copy ability.

Gene Lords have other features that are not specifically used for Mutation, Gene Copying and Cell Control.
Gene Lords can digest any matter and energy that enters their natural digestive system. The time it takes to digest anything depends on how complex the energy/matter is and how fast the metabolism of the Gene Lord is.
Gene Lords store the energy from what they eat in their body with nuclear cells and Nuclear-Adipose tissues in the form of Uranium. Hence in order to digest their food the Gene Lord must raise its body temperature to 1,132 Celsius (2075 Fahrenheit) or above, which can be done easily with cell manipulation.
Gene Lords can sense and differentiate the genetic code of any creature the same way humans can sense and differentiate faces. The better their senses, the more they can sense the fine details of any gene and be able to recognize it.
Gene Lords naturally emit alpha and beta particles as well as gamma radiation, it is unsafe for a creature without enough protection to stay in the same proximity as a Gene Lord as this will cause the creature to burn, grow cancerous tissues, malignantly mutate or die due to radiation sickness.

Agility: Grade 4 (Low)
Stamina: Grade 5 (Low)
Durability: Grade 4 (Low)
Intelligence: Grade 4 (Mid)
Senses: Grade 4 (Low)
Energy: Grade 5 (Low)
Biomass: Grade 5 (Low)
Life span: Undefined]
Mira was quite confused when she read the information about the Gene Lord race. Alleles, Chromosomes, Uranium, Nuclear-Adipose tissue, Vacuole and many more terms confused her as she didn’t know what they meant. But she understood the basic perks of the race.
‘They can get the body parts and abilities of other races, they can keep them permanently or just temporarily and they can control the cells that make up their body. The can keep their body temperature above 1000 Celsius… if I remember correctly, water boils at 100 Celsius so their normal body temperature is super hot to say the least.
Being around them can harm normal people, I don’t know about vampires and High Humans but I’m guessing it won’t be an easy ride for them either… I wonder if I can curb this effect with the Morphing ability. On the bright side low level monsters will suffer simply by being in my presence without me needing to do anything.
They have 3 stats that start at grade 5 and none of the stats start at grade 3 like the Elementalist one. From a stat point of view it is way superior. This is to be expected since it is the extinct race option; it is far better than a superior race that only improves the starting power of one stat.
I wonder what this Biomass is though, IP?’ Mira thought.
[Biomass: Stored up mass that can be easily used to create any cell and resource in the body of the stat owner and is also the fuel for some abilities and skills. Biomass can be gotten by eating, the higher the energy stored in the object that is eaten the higher the amount of Biomass gained.
There is a limit to the amount of Biomass that can be stored depending on the Biomass stat. Increasing this stat can be done by Mutating (In the case of a Gene Lord) or expending and gaining Biomass regularly which would improve the anabolism and metabolism of the creature.
The Biomass stat is a resource stat, similar to the Energy and Stamina stat.]
Mira thought ‘Hmm, I kinda get it now. Why was this race made an option to me? The Human Elementalist (Carbon) race can make diamonds so I can see why they chose carbon. But why this weird race that has a bunch of complicated powers given to me?’
[The abilities of the Gene Lord race are not complex to a Gene Lord; they are instinctual. There is room for using intellect to improve the capabilities of the Gene Lord race but it isn’t as much as the Human Elementalist (Carbon) race.
The Gene Lord race is very powerful among the other Mythical races. It is a naturally boundless race since their ability to copy genes and mutate can allow them to grow without limit. Even if you didn’t get the Boundless title the Gene Lord race would have still been a Boundless Mythical race.
The natural nuclear energy in their cells is a great boon for a Superior Energy Pugilist like you. Your skills will reach unseen heights with this race’s body.
The psyche of this race is extremely sturdy; this gives them extra protection from psychic influences even if the Gene Lord is not adept at psychic energy control. On the flip side this sturdy nature atrophies the growth potential of psychic energy manipulation, without the right mutations the Gene Lord will be unable to use complex psychic manipulations.
The Gene Lord race option was given because it greatly improves the power of your current skill while adding other capabilities that don’t require you to change your ways to improve.]
Mira thought ‘So it goes the completely opposite way than the Elementalist race… Show me the details of the Valkyrie race, I’ve heard the name somewhere before’

Unknown Fate's End
The ancient's believed that a man's fate or destiny is written already, and that only God or maybe the Gods could change it. If they did change it, it was believed it was for a purpose unknown to that man or for maybe for the ammusement of those higher beings. However, whether that is true or not, one thing is for certain. Changing a man's fate will create a ripple of changes. Join our hero, who whether by luck, by some divine intervention, or by his own choice, separated from the fate that he shared with his fellow earthlings. Watch him struggle in his new world. Watch him grow. Watch him learn. Watch him walk a path oustside what destiny has for him. FYI: The magic concept in this story is high fantasy with involvement of polytheistic religions and demons. There will be a mix of GameLit style writing mixed with traditional magic novel style writing. The plot developement will be slow in the first volume, as I will focus on world building and character building. The main character will not be OP immediately and will develop into one in his own way over time. This series is built less like modern Japanese, Korean, and Chinese webnovels and more like the old school fanstasy novels like DND and Forgotten Realms.
