《Era: Dawn of the New Gods》Chapter 149: Mira vs Samuel 2

Mira nodded and created 12 shining diamond javelins. The light that they emitted was a testament to how much energy had been compressed in their forms and how big their explosions would be. Mira couldn’t use her diamonds in a melee since they were too strong for her body so she had to focus on long range attacks.
The javelins released a stream of energy from the bottom of their handles and shot toward Samuel with a stream of white light propelling them. Mira couldn’t go easy on Samuel now that he took the time to tell her he was being serious. She could afford to injure Samuel since he was a vampire and would heal instantly as long as he drank enough blood.
The javelins were all aimed at Samuel’s head by Mira but his mace drew them toward its own head. The space around Samuel turned violet before a loud explosion of air occurred that threw Samuel away. When the dust settled only 3 of Mira’s javelins were left. Mira’s plan was to use Nova when javelins were close to Samuel just before they were absorbed by the mace.
The Diamonds were different from the Novas in that they didn’t get destroyed even after they exploded. The Diamonds could release just a part of their energy in their explosions. The explosions that were just a small part of their energy were much stronger than the previous Nova explosions Mira had not tried releasing all their energy yet.
Samuel’s mace had absorbed 9 of the Javelins before 3 of them exploded. Mira created 24 more javelins and sent all her javelins shooting toward the flying Samuel. Samuel tucked, the space around Samuel’s back became violet and a platform of crystal appeared that slowed down his flight and deformed like chewy candy as it absorbed his momentum by increasing his friction; Samuel had made the air have as much friction as a tough and sticky substance.

The reason why he successfully absorbed Mira’s javelins wasn’t because Mira had badly timed their explosions but because he had reduced the friction in the air which made the javelins arrive at the head of his mace faster than expected.
Samuel pointed his mace forward and turned the space between his mace and javelins a shade of violet and the javelins accelerated toward his mace unnaturally and a repeat of what happened before happened again as Samuel was thrown back by the explosion of the javelins, ripping through the violet crystal, after only absorbing 9 of them.
Mira smiled when she saw that Samuel had a limit to the amount of energy he could absorb at a time. As Samuel flew in the air the patterns on the head of the mace extended and covered the handle. At the same time, a pattern, different from the one on the mace, appeared on the left side of the chest of his armor.
Samuel coughed blood due to the internal injuries that had accumulated after experiencing Mira’s explosions twice. 96 Diamond javelins appeared around Mira and she said “I can do this all day” as she waited for him to land on ground.
Samuel smiled and said “Me too” and dashed toward Mira. Along with the other 18 javelins that survived Samuel’s previous absorption attempt the 96 new javelins shot toward Samuel.
An explosion of air happened again and Samuel was thrown back but this time he absorbed 12 javelins before the explosion happened. Samuel coughed blood as more javelins than before soared toward him as the pattern on his chest expanded to cover the right side of his chest and the left side of his abdomen and back of his armor.
The changing battle pattern didn’t evade Mira’s notice and she even saw the increasing patterns on Samuel’s body but she didn’t change her approach. She was already sure that she could beat a Rank 7; she just wanted to see what Samuel was planning to do to win her.

Another explosion happened within the violet space that Samuel created as Samuel flew back again after absorbing 12 javelins and received a serious injury as the bones in the hand that he used to hold the mace broke in many places and got deformed. Samuel switched the mace to his other hand and the patterns on his armor spread until they covered his whole armor. The patterns on the mace also spread and covered the armor on the arm he was holding it with as it mixed with the patterns on it already.
About 400 javelins shot toward Samuel while he was in the air and exploded but this time he wasn’t sent flying. Samuel stood on a platform made of high friction air completely unharmed by the explosion that just happened. He had also absorbed 30 javelins and the pattern from the mace had spread to his chest.
When Mira saw this she thought ‘The armor patterns increase the more hurt he gets and the mace patterns increase the more he absorbs energy. As the battle goes on he becomes more immune to my attacks and becomes able to absorb more energy. The best way to win him is to beat him in one hit or to do what I’m about to do’
Samuel jumped from the platform he made toward Mira as he swung his mace toward the javelins that were now trying to hit him from different angles. Explosions happened again and again but Samuel’s mace just kept absorbing more energy until the mace’s patterns covered his whole armor.
After this point he stopped swinging his mace as the javelins were absorbed by his whole body. Samuel sprinted toward Mira completely unaffected by the javelins which she kept making. He thought ‘This isn’t good. If she is still sending javelins and not surrendering it means she has a plan to counter me even though I have no other tricks up my sleeve’.
When Samuel was about 100 meters from Mira the patterns from his mace exploded causing the aura that made his armor and mace to destabilize and crush his body. Samuel’s bones broke and many of his organs were punctured by the bones. His body was mangled and his broken bones protruded out of his white skin in some places.
Mira had left only his the head part of his armor intact so Samuel’s eyes and mind were still functioning long enough for him to see small shards of diamonds floating back to Mira out of the destabilized aura of his shattered armor before he fainted from blood loss and shock.
