《Era: Dawn of the New Gods》Chapter 131: Garden City

The duo reappeared in a field of blue lilies, the flower heads all turned toward Jade and Daisuke and Daisuke said “The flowers are a protective measure; Yubi can sense anything that is around them”
Jade nodded and continued moving toward the wall that was visible in the distance. The wall was covered in white sun flowers and purple roses that grew out of cracks in the walls. Jade thought ‘Interesting, I can’t even sense anything wrong about the flowers but considering Yubi’s ability to control plants I’m sure they’re not just aesthetics’
Under Daisuke’s lead the both of them approached a part of the wall covered in dense vines with Sunflowers growing from them. The vines moved aside and revealed the inner part of the city through the entrance hidden behind the vines.
There were many trees in the city and the roads were overrun with vines that featured different flowers and fruits on them. Various Japanese people walked the streets going about their businesses. They’re expression lacking any worry or fear even though the WW3 event was happening. Daisuke looked at the peaceful scene with disdain.
A man in his 30s came forward and said with a smirk “I thought you said you would never come back”. He was a Rank 6 superior High Human wearing a green and red military uniform. Daisuke snorted and retorted “I’m only here because of him” pointing at Jade.
Jade smiled and waved. The man took in Jade’s face and was filled with surprise, he said “Are you-“ but Jade interrupted him by saying “Jade, the stealer of men. Nice to meet you, I teleported here because I want to trade, I make weapons and armor and I even have Magic knowledge and advanced Magic technology”.
The man was silent for a moment before saying “The name’s Denjiro. You’ll have to wait for Yuki to be ready. I can provide temporary accommodations during this time”. Jade thought ‘Smart, he instantly deduced the value of my offer without too much dawdling’.

Jade nodded and followed the man through the city. Denjiro started talking as they proceeded to the residence “Garden city produces the best drugs, potions and clothing among all the other cities. We make weapons but we can’t compete with the Dwarves. Our most special resource is our plant field that decomposes the corpses of monsters, extracts their nutrients and creates fruits and vegetables that people with high stats can get enough nutrition from and the plants also produce materials for potions, drugs and fabrics like the one I’m wearing now that is almost equal to Rank 6 Armor”
Jade whistled when he heard what the city had already, he thought ‘There really is a whole lot of things that I’m still incapable of because of my limited knowledge, but I’m going to fix that’.
Jade said “You guys have a lot in terms of resources, more than the other places I know of but I’m sure you can still make use of my services. When Yubi comes we can talk”.
Denjiro nodded and the rest of the walk was completed in silence. The trio arrived at a 2 storey building which Denjiro gestured to and said “Your residence, everything you need had been arranged already you can give me a call with the phone inside if you need anything”.
Jade said “Thank you” and walked into the building with Daisuke. When they entered Jade said “Seems like you have some serious history with this settlement”.
Daisuke sighed and said “When I was a Rank 5 I lead a revolution against the Yubi because I felt her systems were too protective and wouldn’t let the people become strong enough to protect themselves”
Jade chuckled and said “Not gonna lie, that’s kind of a dumb move”. Daisuke chuckled and said “I know right, I’m embarrassed whenever I remember it. Forcing people to be strong isn’t a good thing even though it is beneficial to them. And besides, losing Yubi’s protection would be a big blow to the settlement, a big blow that a few increases in Rank can’t make up for. I learnt that the hard way while hunting”

Jade nodded and said “The people are just scared, once I sell the weapons that I have in store they wouldn’t mind a nice increase in Rank since the weapons will make killing monsters and getting en-code so much easier. I didn’t realize it at first but when I look at this peaceful city I realized; stabbing a monster while looking it in the eyes is quite mentally tasking for people that have never even killed a chicken before. I see why many people would prefer peace instead of power since it’s better for their mental health to leave such to people who are interested in it. But when I start selling guns I’m sure the inhibitions of many people will be removed”.
Jade opened his portal storage after saying his piece and dumped 30 katanas of various colors on the ground and threw a blue cube as small as a dice cube among them. He said “When you’re done with them put them in front of the door of my room. The dice will record you while you train so keep it close. I’m assuming you plan on training while we’re here. These swords will last longer than the previous ones”
Jade entered a room on the ground floor and closed the door after him. The swords he had given Daisuke were the poor results of his experiments at spatial welding. That was why Daisuke felt the swords were heavier than normal compared to Mira who was fine with the weight of the Bubble armor. Spatial welding could reduce the weight placed on the user of the equipment to a certain extent even though the mass of what was compressed during the welding would be impractical for wielding.
The reason why the previous swords lasted longer than the other katanas Daisuke used was because they had more mass compressed into their form with spatial welding than regular katanas forged using normal welding.
The other 30 katanas were also poor results but were better than the first swords. Jade checked his Soul Map and confirmed what his Hunter’s Perception had told him. Yubi wasn’t in the city. No soul in the city was higher than Rank 6 apart from the Rank 20 spawn of Satoshi.
Jade opened a portal and went back to his lab after closing the door of the room he was in. His goal now was to inspect the knowledge Mira had gotten for him and make weapons and armor production lines.
