《Era: Dawn of the New Gods》Chapter 117: Arrival

Jade made a small portal and brought out a black and gold bracelet from it and handed it to Mira. He said “This is the space tech you wanted. It can teleport you a maximum distance of 20 kilometers and can send a simplified 3D model of the space within a 200 meter radius from you. It also has a portal storage”.
Mira took the bracelet and wore it and made it sink until it was under the Bubble armor. Immediately a 3D image of the area she was in was sent to her head. It was quite a lot of information for her brain to handle since she didn’t focus on intelligence; she had a slight headache from the information surge.
Jade said “You’ll get used to it. It was only possible to make a spatial device this small with magic. Most of the components of my own spatial devices are built into my armor but your bracelet is different. Most of the machinery is in the storage device, so when you use functions that use the parts the in the storage, the energy pattern will create a portal to it and connect the parts that are needed together”.
Mira asked “Why are you telling me all these details, it’s not like I’m going to make the devices myself”. Jade laughed and said “It is because these devices are experimental. I only thought of making them like a week ago. So if something malfunctions, although highly unlikely, if it isn’t too complex a problem you and the owners of the other weapon sets can work out a way to fix them without my help”.
Mira had a look of realization and said “Oh? In that case, how is my armor different from the others? You said that you only used part of the blood of a Rank 7 monster to make it but it is about the same size as the other armors did you only use a part of Rank 6 monster materials to make the other armors?”

Jade smiled and said “That’s a good question” He open the box that contained Samad’s armor and took out the shield, Black Sun. He said “I made this from the scales of a Fortress Armadillo’s spawn but it’s just a small shield” while holding up the smooth golden shield “He said if you’ve noticed, the shield doesn’t look like it’s made of scales. That’s because I used spatial welding to compress all the scales into a single small shield. It’s one of the post apocalyptic applications of spatial technology but it’s not one of the fun ones. In your case I took only a small amount of the worm’s blood instead of using spatial wielding to make a small armor out of all of the blood”.
Mira nodded and Jade loaded all the weapon set boxes into a trolley which Mira was to pull. He gave her two cubes, one was blue with one of its faces colored looking like glass and the other was completely yellow, he said “The yellow one contains information on how to make Magic Bullets. I couldn’t make armor and weapons for everyone that sent a spell and since you said they all work for Jola’s company I decided this was a better way to repay it.
The blue cube is for storing the information on different sciences. The information can be gotten through the tiny camera and microphone on the glassy side of the cube with a mental command. It can also get raw data from the mind of a person if the person recalls what he learnt.
The two cubes require energy to function”
Mira nodded and said “Honestly you’ve given more than enough; your technology is a major blessing for the sanctuary”. Jade replied “A generous dealer who doesn’t nitpick is always the best, and besides Magic really was very helpful to me”.

Mira nodded and Jade led her to a room, in the room there were many device but they all connected one way or another to a large circle of metal that was large enough for a person ot stand in without touching the edge.
Jade activated the device with a mental command and said “It’s a long range teleportation device, I call it a Light Gate”. Mira nodded as the space within the circle rippled and turned unstable and the view from within the circle randomly rippled and showed images of the no-man’s land around the sanctuary.
Jade gestured for Mira to enter and she did, drawing her trolley with her through the Gate.
…
Mira appeared in the no-man’s land around the sanctuary, the space behind her rippling as she pulled the trolley containing the 6 sets of armor through the Gate. When the trolley was completely out of the Gate, the space stopped rippling.
Mira pulled the trolley along heading toward the sanctuary. Although she could have kept it in her bracelet’s portal storage she understood that Jade didn’t want her to show off space technology everywhere.
After about 30 minutes of light jogging, Mira reached one of the entrances of the sanctuary. Even without entering Mira could feel the tension coming from the place; there were 3 days left until the monster’s attacked.
Mira thought ‘Is it my new sense that is giving me this information or is the tension just that high’ as she continued on.
The sanctuary had built many large walled bases at different locations around the outer region of their territory. The bases were circular and their walls were about 40 feet high and had Gatling guns and other weapons at the top of the walls. On seeing them Mira knew these structures were for draining the momentum of the charging hordes as they would have to go around the shooting bases to get to the main area of the sanctuary.
A group of guards from the closest base approached her and she was escorted to the main area of the sanctuary. The main area was protected by a 60 feet high circular wall. There were heavy guns placed and patrollers walking on top of the walls.
Mira was led toward a warehouse. In the warehouse the Overcomers, Deji, Funmi, Jola, Mistura, Anita, Osaz and Samad were waiting for her. Samad said “There were some people that were saying you wouldn’t comeback and that you just ran away with our Magic knowledge.
Mira smiled and said “Well I’m here so you can be rest assured”.

The Granddaughter of Time
Teresa Hargrove was okay with giving up. She knew the Earth was doomed and there was nothing to be done about it. What she was not okay with was the Future, an enigmatic woman nearly fanatical in her devotion to making a difference, dragging her along — seemingly, to prove her wrong. It turns out though that the Future is very hard to understand. This story contains heavy themes, including mental illness, existential crisis and death. However, I still tried to eventually convey a message of hope. Several mythical and metaphorical beings in the shape of humans will appear in most chapters. However, they are not meant to be of a specific ethnicity or social background and are instead perceived differently by people around them. For your reading pleasure, feel free to imagine them any way you’d like, even if your imagination contradicts descriptions from the story. Enjoy!~
