《Era: Dawn of the New Gods》Chapter 82: Mira’s back in Town

Mira spent 2 months after escaping from the island fighting Rank 5 hordes, she was getting a hang on her technique while helping Gbenga’s group get the en-code required for the payment for their rescue. She told them the vague description Jade told her of how aura was activated.
They worked hard at it and eventually could activate it although they still needed time to get used to it. Mira felt sad for not charging them for the information. They made it to the sanctuary and Mira found it had changed greatly.
The territory was far bigger than before, the Rank 3s she saw had some strange crystals worn as accessories on their bodies, she could sense energy in the crystals, and that was just from getting to the entrance.
Mira showed her ID to the guards and told the guard Gbenga’s group members were new. The Guard hurriedly contacted the sanctuary office and 6 minutes later Jola came running out.
Jola ran to her tears dripping from his eyes, he said “Mira! I thought you were dead” and tried to hug her and she open her arms to receive him but Jola was kicked to the side by Anita who was beside him.
Jola got up with a groan. Jola had been worried about the sanctuaries power and now Mira brought 5 Rank 5s to the sanctuary he couldn’t be happier. Jola asked “Are they your master’s students?”
Mira chuckled as she remembered their experience with Jade and she thought ‘Maybe they are’ but said “No they’re the people I found on Victoria Island… Wow you armor is looking good, but not as good as mine though” Jola replied “It’s only thanks to you selling Flash Thunder”
Mira entered after some random banter and went with the group into the sanctuary and registered the group. Mira noticed that many high rankers were wearing good clothes unlike before when everyone wore rags and thought ‘Funmi must have made it big’
She wondered where she should go. Back to the hotel? No, she wasn’t feeling like that. She contacted Funmi on the radio phone; it rang for a while before it connected. Funmi said a curious “Hello?” and Mira replied “Funmi how have you been, I can see so many people like your clothes”. Funmi’s eyes widened on hearing the voice over the phone and she said “Mira?! What the hell. We thought you died or left”

Mira chuckled and said “Well I didn’t, can I come to your place?” Funmi checked the time for the raid she was to help her underlings with and said “you can but come quickly, I have to leave soon”. Mira told Gbenga’s group to follow her and they went together to Funmi’s company.
Jola was jittery after he saw the people Mira brought “Rank 5 Superior High Humans” he said and Anita replied “Yeah, if they survived on Victoria Island they have to be exceptional. We should contact them later and pay for a map of the Island and for information on how they survived” Jola said “But aren’t we low on en-code?” Anita answered “Deji has finalized the Magic manual; we’ll soon be high on en-code”
Mira arrived and saw Funmi surrounded by some a bunch of superior High Humans. Almost all of the low Ranks were superior when Mira was on her way here. Mira ran and hugged Funmi they greeted each other, Funmi said “What?! When did you become Rank 6?!” Mira laughed and said “I was only holding back my Rank so that you wouldn’t feel bad. I am actually Rank 100”
They laughed and Funmi said “Can we talk later? I have to leave now, you can stay here if you want” Mira said “Ok” and Funmi went away with her underlings.
Mira and Gbenga’s group were led by one of the employees to a lobby where they sat down and waited. Mira asked Gbenga’s group “How do you feel about this place?” Bella answered “It’s unusual. The weapons and armor were different from what I expected when I saw yours. Does your master only sell to his students?”
Mira answered “My master doesn’t live here, like you guys I also don’t originally come from the sanctuary”. The reveal shocked the group; they had completely thought that Mira was raised by the sanctuary just like the underlings they saw. Bola asked “Where did you come from?”

Mira answered “That is confidential” it had been a while since anyone asked her about her origins. Bola looked confused she couldn’t understand why she was keeping her past a secret. Gbenga asked “Who’s your master?” Mira answered “Confidential”.
The group asked a lot of questions about Mira’s past, only to be met with a ‘Confidential’ response. After their flurry of questions they stopped for a moment and Bella asked “Are your weapons better than the sanctuary’s weapons?” Mira answered “Now? I don’t know, the weapons seemed to have changed a lot since the last time I was here… I wonder if they’ve already sold the Magic manuals already”
The eyes of the group members widened “MAGIC?!” they all chorused. Mira laughed at their response and said “We got Magic during our first campaign, a Magic manual was supposed to be sold so that everyone could use it”. The groups eyes were filled with star; flight, shooting fireballs, disappearing, bringing bunnies out of hats, their heads were filled with all sorts of imagination about what the Manual could hold. If only they knew how bland most of the spells were they wouldn’t have hoped so much.
Mira said “I’m going to look around; I need to see how the sanctuary has changed. You guys should explore by yourselves too, we’ll meet 3 hours from now” and then she went out of the lobby and went to check the city.
Funmi’s company was located in the area they got on their first raid, it was a high class area. The land was given to the Rank 3s – 5s as a reward for participating in the campaign, these people had become the major earners of the sanctuary hence the area was owned by those who were at the top. Mira went around in search for the members of Pentagon.
Gbenga’s group walked around the sanctuary, they left the area of Funmi’s company and went toward the original territory of the sanctuary. Bola their teacher had left them to go somewhere else; she didn’t want to be walking with a bunch of teenagers in a normal place like the sanctuary. The place was crowded. Bella said “Can’t we go somewhere else?” Maduro said “If we want to find out about the Magic manual we have to go to where people are” the group members nodded in agreement.
Bella had never been in crowded places after her evolution but now that she was she was finding it uncomfortable. Humans had more psychic energy than monsters on average and feeling so many minds around her was making her uncomfortable she couldn’t think clearly without focusing.
Maduro reached a store where weapons, armor and the likes were sold. The jewelries with the weird colored crystals were worn by so many people from where they came from so he was interested.
Maduro asked the shop owner "What are these crystals?" The shop owner wasn't looking in his direction when he asked, the shop owner turned to look at him with irritation, Maduro had bothered him with such a stupid question. He thought ‘Who doesn’t know what energy crystals do, they’re Rank 5 so they think they can just go around disturbing other people. Giving children so much power is a recipe to disaster’
He answered "Stop disturbing me". Maduro was shocked by his lack of hospitality and was about to leave when a pretty girl about their age came from the back of the shop and shouted "Don't go!"
