《Era: Dawn of the New Gods》Chapter 60: Finally, skilled weapons

2 days before the campaign, Adura called a meeting for the Pentagon members. They met at David’s house which Mira had never been to. David lived in a mansion, which shocked Mira as she had expected a flat. Mira asked Funmi, who she came with, “How did David get this house?”
Funmi answered “David and Theo came from a very rich family, the house was given to David by his dad. David and Theo have been in the sanctuary since its start and since the house was David’s before the apocalypse he still owns the house”
Mira thought ‘So he’s one of the people I always dreamed to be like’. They entered the house which was very empty as only 4 people lived there; they took the stairs to the top floor and entered a large room with a long table in the center.
The rest of Pentagon was there and they greeted each other before the meeting started. Adura said “So the raid is in two days, I hope you’ve all completed your training. I need to see a Mira’s stat report and a list of your weapons skills, as much as you are willing to divulge. Funmi; we need to test the limits of your new skill. Apart from that we need to do some practice, I’ve received the skilled weapons you guys requested so you need some practice to get used to them”
Mira gave Adura her body stat info and weapon capabilities on a piece of paper, she didn’t have much more than what she showed at the raid, the only thing that she hadn’t shown in the raid was her body suits ability to harden and her hoody’s ability to store energy.
The team went to the deserted area, Adura carrying a bag filled with the skilled weapons. When they got there, Adura unpacked the back and distributed the weapons. The skilled weapons were similar to the weapons that the team members, apart from Mira, used, with slight differences. The weapon’s handles had two controls on it. A select switch for activating the aura blade skill and choosing the length of the blade and a button which when pressed down made the weapon generate aura slashes and when released it stopped generating the aura slash.

The aura of the weapon skill varied from weapon to weapon as Deji hadn’t discovered how to change the color of aura or the colors uniqueness. The members of the group practiced with the weapons for 30 minutes, by then they had gotten a full handle on the weapons, their eyes were gleaming as they imagined how the skills would help in battle.
They decided to have mock battles to get more experience. The skills were more complicated than their controls made them look, the only reason these complicated skills could be given such simple controls was because high humans could get used to new things way faster than even children.
The aura blade skill required the same amount of energy for any length, at zero length it just hardened the blade and improved attack more than just normal aura activation, the more the length was increased beyond 1 meter the attack power would reduce since the weapons had a limited amount of energy they could conduct.
The aura slash skill was even more complicated as depending on how hard the button was pressed the aura slash’s attack power would either be high or low, it also affected the range the aura slash would go before dispersing; stronger slashes went farther. The length of the aura slash was determined by how long the button was pressed and how hard it was pressed; longer aura slashes couldn’t be created with little energy.
The only loss was that only people, who could control energy, some Rank 3s and all Rank 4s, could use the skilled weapons as the weapons could not draw on the user’s energy by itself.
