《Era: Dawn of the New Gods》Chapter 53: Raid 5

Mira planted her feet in the ground to stop herself from flying further. She felt the energy around her change as the genius launched another of its weird attacks; it was easier for it now that she was closer.
Mira activated her boots again and let the aura explosion carry he toward the genius. An explosion happened where she had just been but she was now flipping through the air toward the genius as she didn’t have time to correct her stance when she used the skill.
She activated Havoc’s aura blade skill and unleashed a flurry of attacks at the genius. The genius blocked the attacks successfully as the aura slashes slowed down before stopping and fizzling out completely before reaching it.
As she landed a javelin flew toward the genius, her team was already heading to where she was. She turned to the genius and unleashed a flurry of throwing knives at it. The knives sailed through the air before stopping and falling to the ground.
A ball of heat and light, the size of a basket ball formed at the side of the genius, facing Mira’s group. The genius’s ball of light swiftly sailed toward Mira, getting bigger along the way.
Mira holstered Tranquil Day, held her right palm in a fist, in front of her chest as black aura gathered at her gauntlets and drew her arm back toward her left shoulder. When the ball was close enough it was already big enough to swallow a car, melting the ground as it approached.
Mira swung her arm and with a bang the ball was deflected by a wall of black aura that formed and flew back toward the genius. The genius focused its control on the ball trying to resist the force that sent its own attack toward it.

While it did this a javelin fell from above heading toward the center of its head, it ordered the horse to move away and the horse swiftly shifted to the right, away from the ball.
The genius gained control of the ball before either Mira’s team or the ball got to it; it sent the ball back toward Mira’s team who were directly behind the ball. Theo shouted from behind Mira’s team charge “36.4 DEGREES!” Mira understanding his message redirected the ball exactly 36.4 degrees away from the genius toward the glaive wielding prodigy that was in a losing fight against Deji’s team without the genius’s help.
On seeing the ball heading toward his team Deji timed the impact, judging by the actions of Mira’s team and the genius. He told his team mates “We fully retreat in 1.4545 seconds”. The team engaged the prodigy as the genius struggled in to get its ball under control. The paragon’s horse was on the brink of death and it had lost an arm and a leg during the short period when the genius stopped assisting it with explosion attacks and defends.
A javelin, 5 throwing knives and 12 aura slashes headed the genius’s way and it gave up on redirecting the ball and defended against the attacks. Deji’s team, fully retreated, just early enough for them to escape the ball and too late for the prodigy to escape.
The ball hit the prodigy, it compressed and exploded and the prodigy was vaporized leaving just some bones and ash behind. Deji’s team ran toward the genius, he had looked at the other team and he noticed they were winning without the genius helping the prodigy.
Deji fired bolt after bolt with his continuous fire crossbow. The genius turned its horse around and had it run at maximum speed in an effort to escape; it knew it had lost the battle. It focused on defense trying to keep itself alive.

Seeing its behavior Mira stood directly behind the fleeing genius and prepared herself for a special attack; she crouched low ,one leg forward and the other leg backward, raised the hand that was holding Havoc back and over her head as yellow and blue aura gathered at Havoc’s blade and yellow aura gathered at her legs.
Her legs shined with yellow aura that was on the verge of being activated and she blasted off. With a bang she disappeared from where she was and appeared a few meter away, in the air, with the hand that was holding Havoc being raised forward above her head.
A giant blue aura slash sailed through the air from the end of her axe. The aura slash flew at a blinding speed and split the genius and its horse vertically into two despite its defenses. The genius and the horse’s halves fell sideways and Mira landed on the ground, her energy spent.
The other team was on the verge of beating their prodigy when Deji’s team changed direction and helped them, sealing the prodigy’s fate. The Rank 4s swiftly gathered the bodies of the undead and ran away as the low Rank undead pointlessly gave chase.
The Rank 4s reached the rendezvous point and met the lower Ranks and the Rank 3s. Deji ordered a return back to the sanctuary and the army marched.
During the march Deji frowned in thought ‘What type of person created such weapons?’ as he remembered Mira’s performance. He had only seen such fighting capabilities in games, her armor had more skills than he had imagined and seeing the way she used it showed him that she had enough practice with those skills.
‘What was that black aura? How did she create the explosions with the yellow aura? There are so many questions. If everyone can get such weapons and armor we would be unstoppable…’ He paused for a moment ‘It’s my fault, I need to work harder to make better weapons for the sanctuary, I will make the sanctuary a place where energy skills are common place…’ He smiled as he remembered the genius’s skills ‘Oh I also need to find out how the genius performed its attacks; I think we just discovered magic.’
