《Era: Dawn of the New Gods》Chapter 29: What it takes to be Rank 7

When it arrived the IP denoted it as [Rank 7 Ancestral Aura Ape]. What came out of the hole was a 13 feet tall monkey with fur made of a silver colored crystal, it had glowing green and blue patterns on its body and it had 3 eyes at the back of its head.
Jade put Orochi back into his bracelet and brought out a white sword that he made from the Horus’s bones and claws alone. He activated the sword and it lit up with blue aura within the blue aura and on the sword a red light began to glow.
The sword was a weapon made by combining a plasma blade and an aura monster weapon; the blue aura traps the plasma that is generated around the area of the sword even as the weapon continuously produces the hot plasma, which leads to the sword storing a huge amount of highly compressed plasma, Jade can then control the weapon and open a hole in the blue aura casing and release a focused explosion.
He got the idea from the lizard that he saw destroying the military base in the video he watched after the apocalypse started. The sword’s name was Horizon.
There was silence for a while before Jade lounged at the ape. ‘Blue and green aura must mean the ape is a defensive fighter, I can’t dilly dally around who knows what other colors of aura it can activate’ Jade thought as he swung Ouki while extending the aura around the blade.
When the aura was about to touch the ape… it disappeared… no, it just dodged so fast that Jade’s improved senses could only assume it disappeared.
Jade teleported away to a higher location and saw the ape smash the place where he had just been, with blue aura on the palm it used. Not only that, but the arm it used was now as bigger and it looked like a gorilla’s arm.
Jade teleported Ouki’s aura blade, which he took from his bracelet, and struck, towards the neck of the ape… but to his dismay the ape dodged although this time not a refined as before as it didn’t know the source of the attack; it had not discovered where Jade teleported to.
The eyes on the back of the apes head caught Jade in the air, while it was looking around, Jade had scanned it with his ear ring and he noticed that compared to all the monsters he had fought the ape had the largest energy to size ratio.

Its energy organ was a sphere of 10 meters centered on its body. All the other monsters Jade had fought had their energy organs so small it didn’t extend outside their body.
‘I should stay away from his energy zone if I don’t want him taking control of my body with his green aura… I was stupid for charging before’. Jade thought as he teleported Ouki’s aura aiming for the eyes.
The ape covered its eyes with blue aura, blocking the attack and jumped towards Jade’s location in an instant. The ape was on top of Jade and ready to smash him with both its hands held together. When Jade looked at the ape it had turned to a baboon.
The ape didn’t know what Jade did to evade it and it was weary of Jade’s attacks so it transformed to a more balanced form, one that enhanced both speed and strength as it was cautious of Jade’s movement.
Jade teleported and was now under the ape, Ouki’s aura extended and he teleported the blade towards where the balls of the ape should have been (It didn’t have balls) while he remained just outside the ape’s energy zone.
Jade knew that the ape couldn’t fly since none of its spawn could. The capabilities of the ape were reflected in the spawns so Jade knew most of its attack and defense patterns. The only thing the ape had that all its spawns didn’t have were the eyes on the back of its head and the high amount of energy.
Sadly, Jade had underestimated the intelligence of the ape. When it sensed the attack coming from under it, it covered itself with green aura, starting from its lower body and flew, by controlling itself, away from Jade’s attack. It made a platform of blue aura in the air covered its base with green aura and stood on a floating blue and green aura island.
Jade was shocked ‘Its thinking like a person, it has so much ingenuity rather than instinct, shit…’ he thought and the ape jumped from the platform it was on and it dissolved as it lounged toward Jade with a fist of green and blue energy.
Jade switched on his auto dodge system, which was a combination of his space mapping earring and his coordinate shuffling system, it teleported him away from all the apes attacks as he had set the thresh hold to 10 meters so he would always be more than 10 meters away from the ape.

He watched the ape attack and thought at the same time ‘*sigh* I haven’t fought any challenging opponents in recent times, I’ve gone soft. Monsters are generally unpredictable as almost all of them seem to be unique. I’ve just been able to kill the monsters with my teleportation before they could show their uniqueness. I just have to adapt’
The ape sent a flurry of attacks towards Jade as fast as it could: it switched from monkey to baboon to gorilla form as it sent flying fists, kicks, tail smacks and bites at Jade, the likes of which Jade hadn’t seen before as they curved when he dodged in an effort to hit him after they missed.
The ape created many small aura islands that it jumped and landed on in order to attack him in the air.
It would also try to extend its green aura or try to predict Jade’s future locations but it was unable to touch Jade as Jade always stayed just outside its energy zone and since it didn’t want to hit itself with its own flying attacks it had to limit the number of flying attacks to a number it could control.
‘So this is the advantage I have, so what if it can stand on air, it can never hit me even though it has so much more agility than me that I’m seeing after images. As long as I can teleport with my auto dodge I only have to worry about hitting him. The first person to hit wins this fight and I have the advantage’ Jade thought.
Jade, with renewed resolve began to mix attacks while the auto dodge handled his safety, he attacked with only Ouki and kept Horizon in his hands on standby.
This development brought the fight to a whole different degree of difficulty for the ape; it had to keep up with dodging Jade’s attacks while maintaining and controlling its own attacks. The ape increased its concentration and kept up its attacks.
An hour and some minutes later, Jade slashed and stabbed while teleporting his attacks toward the ape sometimes he began teleported a single attack twice or even up to four times using his space folding ring first and the space shuffler after.
His Agility had risen considerably during the fight and his concentration had risen further; he had begun to see through the ape’s habits. This made the fight enter a new dimension for the ape as its concentration wasn’t enough anymore.
The ape switched to the defensive as it stopped attacking Jade and focused on defending completely… but that was the wrong move.
With Jade not needing to dodge anymore he could teleport a single attack 16 times now which made selectively blocking Jade’s attacks impossible for the ape as 16 attacks, whose location it couldn’t predict, battered its body at a very high frequency.
It just defensively held its hands against its face in its gorilla form like a boxer, covered itself with blue condensed aura, which proved to be a good defense measure against Ouki. It ordered its spawns, which had left the area so as not to get within the cross fire of the two of them, to return and attack Jade.
‘So you want a battle of endurance now aye? Sadly for you even though I have way more energy than you, I’m not interested. Bye, I look forward to experimenting with your corpse’ Jade thought.
He slashed vertically with the Horizon and opened the aura containing the plasma at a segment of the side of the Horizon’s edge, while teleporting his slash to strike just in between the hands of the ape.
A thunderous roar escaped as a red flying slash of plasma flew out of the blade and split the ape vertically into two equal parts and exited out of its back, going further until it was out of Jade’s view, cutting a line that reached the horizon.
The two halves of the ape fell away from each other as the IP told Jade ‘You have killed Rank 7 Ancestral Aura Ape, all of its spawns have died as a result, and the en-code from them will be given to you. You have gained 78,093,561 en-codes from the Rank 7 monster and 208,741,902 en-codes from the resulting dead spawn’
