《Era: Dawn of the New Gods》Chapter 10: Am I High?

Gbenga woke up feeling a stinging pain on his cheek; he opened his eyes, seeing the face of Bella, one of the classmates who had protected the stairs with him slapping him. “*sigh* you’re finally awake, help me wake up the rest” she said as she proceeded to the next person and began slapping her.
Gbenga tried to stand but before he could a wave of dizziness hit him sending him back to the floor, he winced as an intense migraine filled his head which subsided some seconds after. Gbenga tried to stand again only for the same things to happen again, he looked at Bella who was viciously slapping the girl beside him on only one cheek.
He asked “Bella, how long did it take for you to stand up? Do you know what happened?” Bella looked at him, sporting her signature dead pan expression, “I don’t know what happened, you all fell down at the same time, I’ve been slapping you for about…” she checked her phone “… 23 minutes” she said while slapping the girl, whose eyelids were fluttering.
Gbenga was shocked at the reveal ‘We all fainted but she didn’t? What’s up with that? Why did we even faint anyway?’ he thought in confusion. About 30 minutes passed and Bella confirmed that everybody had woken up; most hadn’t needed her slaps as they woke up on their own.
Gbenga could already stand and walk but he was experiencing a terrible headache, he called Joyce’s number; trying to reach the terrorist, but the call only rang; the terrorist didn’t answer. ‘Has he left… or is he dead?’ Gbenga pondered.
Gbenga was in the large office they had slept in, looking out the shattered window, he saw all the undead lying on the ground, lifeless as they should be, a small ocean of green puss had formed from the blood that flowed from their ears.
The lion and the sphere were also lifeless; the lion laying prone with silver blood traces on its mouth and nose, the sphere’s body now unrecognizable as it had exploded, and a pool of silver blood formed from the lion and the sphere’s blood.
He asked the occupants of the room “What did you guys see before you passed out?” Jacob, who was sitting on the floor responded “When the sphere exploded, the zombies started falling, from the center outward, we thought it was because of the sphere’s death, but here we are”. “Did the terrorist call again?” Gbenga asked, Jacob responded “Yes, he told us to drop bombs on the undead”.
Gbenga called the terrorist again but received no reply “He is not picking up” he said so that everyone could hear “He should have also fainted if he was close by as he said he was”
Gbenga looked at the people in the room who were wincing from their headaches “This is the best time for us to leave; while he is unconscious. Ife, your father is a military man, right?” Ife nodded “where is he?” Gbenga asked “He is at home, on Victoria Island” she answered.

“Then that’s where we should go, does anyone have a better idea, I picked Ife’s dad because he probably has new gen weapons and can protect us better than the terrorist but if anyone has a suggestion please raise it” Gbenga offered, the room was silent “Ok then, recover quickly” he said and left to check up on the remaining 6 that were at the stairs.
About an hour later, everybody had packed up and had come down stairs to enter the bus, Bisola, the teacher of the class watched as the students put their bags at the back of the bus, out of the corner of her eye she saw the bike the terrorist had rode.
She took out her gun and shot it, she didn’t stop until it became scrap metal while shouting. Her breathing was ragged as the students watched her in astonishment. She calmed her breathing, looked around, on seeing that everyone was ready, she smiled and said “Can we go now?”
The students stopped gawking at her crazy display and entered the bus which drove west towards Victoria Island.
…
Jade woke up in a daze, when he opened his eyes everything was blurry, he shook his head to counter the murky state his mind was in, but it didn’t work as expected; everything became vivid, too vivid, the world was like a painting but his body felt like it was under water, with every movement he made he felt the wind resistance slowing him down.
The first thought he had was, ‘Am I high?’… An unexpected answer came ‘No’ Jade asked again ‘then what is happening to me?’ he got an answer again ‘Your mind and body are getting used to their new forms’.
It was at this point, Jade began to wonder what was answering him; he looked around trying to find the source of the voice. As he looked around his vision changed and something clicked in his head and his vision became less vivid; his brain became able to process the vast amount of information his eyes were giving him.
The view was surprising, it was night time but he could see clearly and even in more detail than he had ever seen before, he could clearly see the seams on the chair that was facing the window in a building that was about 2 kilometers away. He shook his head again wondering ‘what happened?’ as he still felt the resistance when he shook his head and with his new sight he saw that part the concrete under him had turned to powder and he could distinguish the shape of every grain even though it wasn’t what his eyes were focusing on.
An answer came again ‘After you killed the Rank 3 Hive Noble mind, you acquired a sum of En-code which was added to your previous sum, the act of killing a Rank 4 creature was rewarded with an evolution. So you were forced to go into a compulsory evolution when your surroundings lacked hostile elements’

The answer confused Jade. He pondered on the information he was given before asking the next question ‘What are you?’ the answer came ‘I am the information personality (IP) that was awarded to you when you evolved’.
Jade thought ‘Information personality?’ although it was a rhetorical question, the answer came ‘Information personalities (IP for short) are sub-minds that answer the questions, the host mind has, whenever they come up, with the information it can access’
He pondered again before asking ‘What are the necessary questions that I can ask that you can answer?’ the IP responded ‘Stellar question detected; revealing all necessary information’ before Jade’s eyes a list of information appeared written in the air in purple, it read:
[Evolution information: Evolution time start time; February 22 2082, 12:12am, conclusion time; February 24 2082, 2:49am.
Old species: Human (homo-sapiens) – the apex predator and the most intelligent race on planet earth, suspected of being a species that is alien to the planet because of their unecological behavior and uncommon habits that do not resemble any other native species, intelligent or unintelligent.
Previous State:
Strength: High (low)
Agility: High (low)
Stamina: High (intermediate)
Durability: High (high)
Intelligence: Pinnacle
Senses: Intermediate (intermediate)
Life span: about 120 years maximum
All the above assessments are related to the general human population.
New species: (Superior) Primordial Human (homo primum superus) – the primordial human(homo primum) is the unadapted, original form of the human race, before they adapted to their planet, the species possesses physical qualities that are superior to humans but lesser mental qualities compared to them. The species has a much longer life span than humans.
Due to the vast amount of En-code and your previous stats, the traits of the species have been altered to make a superior version of the race: the species now has a far higher mental quality than the human race. The species now has an energy producing and storing organ (unbiased) and an improved anabolism and metabolism.
Current State:
Strength: Low (intermediate)
Agility: Low (intermediate)
Stamina: Low (intermediate)
Durability: Low (intermediate)
Intelligence: Low (high)
Senses: Low (high)
Energy: Intermediate (low)
Life span: about 1000 years maximum
All the above assessments are related to the (Superior) Primordial Human species.
Bonus Information: it is advised that the subject tests the limits of his new state and gets comfortable with it first and foremost. The evolution is irreversible. Future evolution will now be controllable by the subject as the subject now has an IP. The state of the subject and amount and type of En-code determines the quality of the evolution options.
Miscellaneous Information:
IP acquires access to more info, the higher the Rank of the subject
Your current Rank is Rank 4
The requirements to be Rank 4 is killing a Rank 4 creature
The requirements to be Rank 3 is killing a Rank 3 creature
The requirement to be Rank 2 is killing a Rank 2 creature
The requirement to be Rank 1 is killing a Rank 1 creature
All those who haven’t met any requirement are Rank 0
The current number of people at Rank 4 is 31,262
The current number of people at Rank 0, Rank 1, Rank 2 and Rank 3 is uncalculated as they haven’t been given IPs but will be given on February 25 12:00am. The information will be available then.
Strength represents the cumulative total of the ability of a creature to exert force from all the parts of its body associated with exerting force (For Primordial humans it is the muscles).
Agility represents the cumulative speed, acceleration and Jerk of the force exerting parts of a creature’s body.
Stamina represents the total of the stored and readily available converted energy a creature possessed and can exert.
Durability represents the total flexibility, defense and regenerative capabilities a creature can show when damaged by various factors.
Intelligence represents the total quality of a creatures mind.
Sense represents the total stimuli processing and acquiring speed, quality and range of a creature.
Energy is as the name states, energy, in its purest form. Unbiased energy spontaneously converts itself to the form of energy it is in contact with.
En-code is an energy bias that contains the state information (stats) of a creature when it was alive and can be used to either evolve one’s species, when the right quantity has been amassed or be used to hasten the improvement of one’s state (Primordial Humans improve their state by exerting themselves repeatedly).
En-code can be gotten by killing creatures, the portion of en-code a person gets from a kill is dependent on how instrumental they were to its death, no matter how indirect their contribution and how far away they are from the kill.
Rank 0 creatures Killed: Hive youngling
Rank 3 creatures Killed: Hive Noble mind
Rank 4 creatures Killed: High Mineral lion
En-code state:
Strength: 0/1,000,000,000
Agility: 0/1,000,000,000
Stamina: 0/1,000,000,000
Durability: 0/1,000,000,000
Intelligence: 0/100,000,000,000
Senses: 0/1,000,000,000
Energy: 0/100,000,000,000
Unattributed: 0/205,000,000,000
Any type of en-code can be converted to unattributed en-code and unattributed encode can be converted to any type of encode attribute the subject already has.
Bonus Information: The corpses and blood of monsters are very valuable as they possess properties that are not replicable with the available elements on earth, experiment to find their properties.

Dungeon Core Chat Room.
This is a slower-paced "experiment and dungeon building" web novel that tries to use the idea of peer-to-peer communication with Dungeon Cores instead of Dungeon to slave monster communication to break up the detailed dungeon building. Rank 1 description: (minimum met for system initialization...detailed description as follows) Each race was given a system by the gods to make up for their shortcomings and balance their place in this world. Humans: Abysmally bad at understanding and using magic unable to use more than the lowest of magic were given the "Skill System" magic in the form of premade skills with use, study, and mastery tied to experience. Elves: Intuitively understand magic and have long lives leading to vast knowledge and skill in their chosen fields. However, as a species, they have nearly zero sex drive and less than low fertility, so they were gifted the "World Tree System" with experience gained through the care of natural areas – gifting the chance of children to increase their numbers without dirty copulation. All “natural” or “wild” monsters are given an "Evolution system" designed around killing and consuming as many creatures as possible, slowly increasing strength and, at thresholds, allowing mutations to alter them multiple times. Dungeon cores are different. Unlike humans, they can see, manipulate and live off mana. Unlike Elves, they naturally crystallize after extended periods of time in high mana level areas. However, they cannot easily move or communicate and typically go insane without companionship. As a species other than the odd eccentric they are unimaginative. Brute forcing solutions without the drive to truly innovate. Thus they have been gifted with the "Dungeon Connection System" a magical version of the internet accessible by their peers that allows them to barter and sell: bait, traps, monsters, and knowledge, as well as entertain each other with “adventure streams” using exciting recorded battles and humorous reels of arrogant chumps biting off more than they can chew to often fatal effects. This is the casual story of a dungeon unluckily spawned far from potential adventurers forced to innovate beyond its peers to find its place in this world. Rank 2 Description: Justification. I've been on a dungeon core kick for months and while I love the genre – it's sparse with entries. Often the forced conflict gets repetitive and frantic solving of threats "power levels" the protagonist to god levels to progress the plot – taking away the nice steady progression fantasy I'm looking for. (Progression in this story is linked to how strong of monsters/traps/whatever he can create not his "level"...this is demonstrated by some of his newer monsters beating his older monsters not with discrete "this monster has 10 attack this one has 40") Additionally, the focus on 3rd parties with their drama takes away from the reason I’m reading dungeon core novels in the first place – I'm looking for magical crafting, experimentation and kingdom building – not defence from higher and higher levelled enemies looking to steal/destroy/control the MC. This novel is kind of just me writing the story I wish I could read. I like thinking about the experimentation that can be done in fantasy settings using 'mana' as an excuse to make up rules and try to keep them internally consistent. IE once I define how a rule works, I'm going to commit to keeping it – no breaking hard truths I've given when it's convenient, even if it backs me into a corner. Hopefully, that should make the story interesting to read even if it's SOL and less action-oriented. There will be problems to solve and a clear progression in strength (of created monsters and knowledge) however due to not wanting to force conflict for the sake of conflict the general theme will be closer to slice of life with few action sequences and no overarching goal so please keep that in mind when picking this up as the genre is not for everyone. Finally, I have a clear goal of what I want from this story (not an endless romp but a series of arcs and then a conclusion that's a couple of dozen medium-sized chapters long) I want to commit to finishing it or at least bringing it to a point of rest. I hate all the engaging stories that stop with a “hiatus” indefinitely so in the event I lose motivation I'll work to end this even if the ending becomes rushed/unsatisfying just to give a sense of closure. I’m planning on including several polls in terms of direction and taking feedback heavily into account if I get enough readers (but may choose to ignore it if it deviates too far from the direction I want to take this as in feedback like: “The MC needs a cartoonishly evil arch-enemy that wants to enslave him and force the mc to pump out magic items” or “the MC needs to make a body and learn teleportation then live with humans” will get shot down without consideration.)

Please tell me if I've used a word incorrectly. It's a slow-paced, slice of life isekai focused on Luc's goal of going home, his learning of the magic and gathering the resources he needs to grow. The chapters after the first one will be about 2-3k words long. I'll try to post at least once a week. Hope you enjoy!
