Su Qingcheng was unaware of all the events happening outside. She did not know that her mother was already here to rescue her. However, she was in an oddly strange state at the moment. Yao Meiyue had tried her best to comfort Su Qingcheng and explain to her properly that everything that has happened to her was only under the precondition that she survived. Su Qingcheng was too focused on the fact she had gained power and hadn’t considered the fact that she could have died getting it. Sighing inwardly, Su Qingcheng realized that she was literally being reared up by Lei Zetian to accomplish some things with her new body.
While she was currently too weak to do anything against Lei Zetian at the moment, she finally registered the words of Yao Meiyue and sighed bitterly. In the end, true power was all that mattered. She was too focused on gaining power, and the terrifying image of Lei Zetian in that dark torture room flashed in her mind again. It was this traumatizing image that made a deep impression in her heart. At the tender age of fourteen, she had already accrued a mental demon. It wasn’t that she accepted her fate, it was that she felt she couldn’t change it. However, nothing in this world was absolute. If she got stronger, she could eventually surpass Lei Zetian for real, and perhaps she could really pay her back tenfold.
Su Qingcheng sighed deeply and sat on the bed in her room.
“I can’t be weak anymore. I can’t be weak for myself, not for anyone. I have fooled myself this whole time. I have the advantage of a previous lifetime! How could I have allowed myself to accept these circumstances?!” Su Qingcheng lamented to herself. “That… that person. I really can’t believe for a second I really wanted to help her. I have been conditioned! This is the symptoms of being conditioned by an abuser! Graaah!”
