They got in, the monsters. They got in, this wasn't good. Nor was the fact that Aryton and Bruce are both injured by them. Did we even stand a chance. I shouldn't even be thinking like this, but do we?
I kept close watch on Aya and Rose as the group of monsters limped closer and closer within each passing second.
Blood dribbled down a couple of their mouths, meaning they had their recent meal. Likely Aryton and Azima. Aryton stood up, wincing in pain. He looked at me. "You ready?" He picked up a chair.
I looked at him. "Yeah, I guess so." I was lying, who would be ready for this? I mean, we're fighting against these people eating things. They reminded me of something from a movie I saw with my parents. Aya got scared when we were watching it. What was it called?
Mr. Peterson went over to his bag and dug into it. "What are you looking for Mr. Peterson?!" Bruce looked over at him and then at the monsters. "Mr. Greyrat and I both have guns." He spoke and pulled out his gun. "Why would you guys have guns?" Bruce asked.
"In case we came by a school shooter." He spoke. "Is that even legal?" Bruce clenched a pencil, Brick stood beside Bruce. "We can't split up." Mr. Peterson turned the safety off, he looked at Bruce. "No, but it's useful at times like this."
Brick shoved a desk into a monster, causing it to fall down clumsily, it slowly got back up. Aya looked over at Rose, she was crying. Rose didn't notice, she was focusing on the monsters. "Aya, focus. We need to protect ourselves." Rose spoke.
Aya wiped her tears from her eyes. "I don't have anything to protect myself with…" she whimpered. I looked at her and gave her the baseball bat. "Here." He grabbed a chair and looked at Aryton. "Use this as a shield." I spoke. "Shove them back."
Aryton nodded and went over to the group, using the legs of the chair to shove them back. I followed closely, shoving one that was too close to comfort.
Mr. Peterson went over, aiming his gun and unloading 3 rounds into a monster's chest, they only stumbled back and kept going. "I shot the major parts…" he looked back at Bruce and Brick with a frown.

Aya stared at the chaos, clenching the baseball bat tightly, Rose looked at the other students, who were cowering in fear. "Guys, this isn't the time to cower into a corner. Let's help." They didn't listen to her, she sighed and looked around. Her eyes widened as another one entered the classroom, me and Aryton were too busy shoving the other 3 away.
Rose's eyes widened as the monster ran towards me and Aryton. "TO YOUR RIGHT!" She yelled,I turned around and tried to use the chair as a shield but the monster knocked it away and tackled me to the ground, they weren't as rotten as the ones back there, they were pale white and their skin wasn't rotting yet.
Aryton shoved the other ones away. "WE HAVE TO DO SOMETHING! GUYS!" He winced, he was running out of energy and he was in pain.
Mr. Peterson aimed the gun again, aiming for the head. He fired at them, killing the 3 monsters as they all fell down to the ground. "THE HEAD!" Aryton yelled.
Aya stared at the monster that had me pinned to the ground as it tried to take a chunk out of me. Aya clenched the baseball bat even tighter. I remembered what they were, zombies; was I really going to get killed by a zombie? Right now? Damn, life sucks.
Aya ran over and screamed, swinging the baseball bat across the zombie's head, blood splattered across the chair I used as a shield. The zombie rolled over and got up, blood dribbling down the side of its head. It growled and ran over again. Aya swung, knocking the zombie down.
She went over before it could get up again, she began swinging repeatedly, blood splattering on the floor and on herself, everyone watched, the zombie's head became a pulp in seconds, but she still swung. The body twitched slightly. Blood flooded around the body as Aya backed off, panting.
She looked over at me. "Are you okay?" She asked, I looked at her. "Yeah, it didn't get me."
Lennie and Hayden stared at the zombies that were pounding on the door. "What do we do?" Hayden asked. "Is there another exit?" Lennie asked, he looked at him. Hayden was sent to the office many times for aggressive behaviour. "Yeah, there is." He said, looking at Lennie. "Show the way." He picked up Mr. Greyrat's gun and checked the clip. "He had only 1 bullet left." He put the gun in his holster in case he needed to use it.

Hayden looked over at the door, it was left open. "Do you have a flashlight?" Lennie asked, Hayden shook his head. "Well, it's our only way out." He sighed and went inside, it was dark. You can see vaguely though, we can see the couches, tables, the computers, all the stuff you would need in a home office.
Lennie spotted a flashlight that was left on the floor, but it was shining brightly, it shone red throughout the room. Lennie went over and picked it up, Hayden being a few feet away from Lennie noticed a figure from behind him. "Behind you!" Hayden yelled.
Lennie turned around and used the flashlight to see clearly, well not that clearly. One of those things was in front of him. "Oh shit." Lennie's eyes widened as it growled and leaped towards him.
I looked into the hallway. "I don't see anymore." I looked back at everyone. "To the cafeteria we go?" Aryton asked and I nodded. "It's our best bet to see what's going on."
"Plus, the cafeteria has knives. It will be more useful than the chairs we used." I suggested, looking at Aya, she was shaking a bit. "Aya, we will be fine." I smiled and held her hand. "Let's go, we have to run to try and avoid them." Bruce went over. "Alright. Who's ready?" I asked.
No one responded. "Okay, now!" I began running, Aya had trouble keeping up with my pace so I slowed down. We made our way down the stairs, hearing growls. "Shit." I whispered. "We can't see them." Brick looked around, then at Bruce. "Your pencil." Brick said. "What?"
"Give me your pencil, we don't need it." Bruce handed him his pencil and he tossed it over the edge, the pencil made loud clanking noises, causing the zombies to limp away, we could hear their limping. One of the students ran down the stairs quickly, bumping into one of the zombies that didn't move. The zombie tackled her and bit into her neck, she screamed in pain, attracting the ones we just distracted.
"RUN!" Aryton yelled as we began running down the stairs as fast as we could, some of the students behind us got grabbed by the ones we distracted and their screams flooded our ears.
We made our way to the cafeteria, students in our class got taken left and right by the bloodthirsty zombies. We saw two students that were guarding the cafeteria entrance. "HEY!" Mr. Peterson yelled. They shined their flashlights. "Are you guys all that's left?" The two kids looked like they were in 9th grade.
I turned around, only I, Rose, Aya, Bruce, Brick, Aryton and Mr. Peterson were all that was left of our class. I frowned. "Yeah, we had 20ish more but they're gone now…" they both frowned. "I'm Bandy, this is Scowl." They were both demis, dog demis in fact. "You guys are welcome inside."
I looked around. "I have a quick question." I looked back at Bandy and Scowl. "Ask away." Scowl said. "Did anyone named Mira and Hayden come in?"
Scowl checked the list of students. "No, they haven't even made an appearance. Hayden's brother is inside though." My eyes widened, I was worried about Mira. Rose and Aya both had those dreaded expressions. Scowl shined his flashlight. "More on the way! Get in." He opened the cafeteria door, and we ran inside. Scowl and Bandy followed quickly as they shut the door, the paler zombies were running, while the older looking ones were limping. They came crashing into the doors, banging on it.
The bathroom lights flickered and shut off due to the power outage prior, sounds of chewing echoed in the bathroom. A student ran into the bathroom in a panic to get away from the zombies, but one was inside. Minutes later the zombie heard people run in the hallway.
It limped out, looking at me and the others running out. Staring at only Aya, Rose and I. It tried to speak but a growl came out, blood dribbled down its wounds as it limped back inside to finish its meal. It looked in the mirror, it was Mira. He was one of them. He kneeled down and continued to eat the student.

Mature +18[?]------Hiatus notice, I'll be rewriting this story heavily over the coming weeks. It isn't going where I wanted it to, bare with me for awhile. Ideally, a months time, but time will tell.------Andrew Marks, among over a million, 'players,' is forcibly recruited into a game where the reality and fiction interlace. Where the slightest error will spell death. For yourself, for your new found allies, or the world. 'Choices have consequences,' is a lesson the Corporation wishes to remind people. In this new world where many fall each and every day, a man simply tries to avoid it all, yet the world isn't so kind as to let him off so easily.--------Chapters do tend to be on the longer side, well, in comparison to other fictions I've read on this site. Typically anywhere from 2500-4500 words depending on my mood at the time.In addition chapter releases are largely dependent on my mood so it should have at least two chapter released a week, however, I'll be busy for the next bit so it will be subject to change. --------Anyways, please bare in mind this is the first creative writing piece I have created with the exception of a novel I started writing just prior to this one. I'd appreciate any help or guidance you may give me to better my writing. Be it characters, background or setting, I'm quite sure there are a few loopholes. This is intended for a mature audience, viewers discretion is advised. I digress, enjoy, rate, comment, and let me know how it's treating you so far! I'll take any help I can get!
