The way to the campsite was very sketchy, cars were covered in vines; plus the vines were now growing through the pavement with a few thorn bushes here and there. It's only been 5 years since the apocalypse began, I'm surprised at how much the plants have grown and all that stuff.
There was a biter, let's introduce you guys to the first biter kill. The biter was decayed, decayed. Not one decayed but two of them. I looked at the biter, vines were wrapped around it. It was very hard to tell if they were a female or a male. But they were oddly familiar, I couldn’t click my memories.
I pulled out my sick ass blades. I recently taped the handles of the blades with red tape to add to the badass effect. The blades were curved outwards, so in an easier description it looks like a boomerang.
The biter's hair was all gone, it's jaw was hanging only by a thread from the looks of it. Its eyes have sunken in a bit, the chest of the biter was torn open, and their backpack was covered in the vines, there was no blood on the biter's face; meaning it has had no meal or they haven't eaten in awhile.
I watched as the biter slowly tilted its head towards me, it sounded like their neck was an inch away from snapping. But it was just the vines that were restraining it. The biter tried to growl but all that came out were gurgling sounds due to the torn jaw.
Is it a bad or a good thing that I feel sympathy for the biters, I mean… they used to be human, right? Or Demis, yes. This wasn't the normal apocalypse with zombies and humans. (yes I'm aware they were originally called zombies by pop culture.) There were also Demis, if you don't know what Demis are… they are part human and part animal. We have a few Demis in our group. In fact, Demis are a bit stronger than us, or should I say they're 10 times more stronger due to the fact that they have abilities based on their animal.

I gripped the blade tightly and launched myself forwards, the blade sunk into the biters forehead. The groaning faded away due to the blade sinking down their skull inch by inch. The blade reached the brain and destroyed it.
Blood seeped through the front of its head and the back as well, since the blade did go clean through. Blood flooded down onto their backpack. A biters blood is different than human
blood, it's black and less liquid than our blood. Where our blood rushes through and theirs seeps out like ice cream at a fast food restaurant; thinking about you McDonald's.
I backed up from the body as the blood of the biter stunk like a skunk. I will never get used to the stench, when looking around I saw no more biters, usually they will smell you from a mile away… now it seems like there's barely any of them to begin with.
There are other references to zombies… Here, I will list them. Zeds, Biters, Crawlers (crawlers are the ones with no legs or upper torso.) and last but not least there are Shitheads… yes, some people call zombies shitheads. I prefer biters…. Sometimes zeds.
After a five minute journey I reached the campsite. "Finally you came back, we were worried you wouldn't come back." Dak spoke, Dak was much older than most of us. He was in his 50's, greying and balding as well.
Dani handed me a bowl of soup, the soup had noodles in it. "Sit down with the rest of us, okay?" Dani combed her brown hair. "Combing in the apocalypse… I see…" I spoke like a smartass.
"I want to look presentable in the apocalypse as well." She joked and looked at me with a smile on her face. "My hair is annoying me, that's why. I'm getting all the messy knots!" Dani continued to comb her hair. "Did you even eat as well?" I spoke, sitting down on a log. I took a sip of the soup. "Yes, I ate prior to getting you." Dani finished combing and sat next to me.

"Do you like soup? Dak made it." Dani smiled. "It's good… better than anything we have eaten in weeks." I spoke honestly and continued to eat. Dak smiled and handed a bowl to Jug. Jug was one of the demis, he was a deer demi. Jug has deer ears and he had deer feet, but no horns like most deer demis, meaning if he wanted to he could kick the living shit out of a hunter.
Hunters are people that hunt on demis, there are numerous safe havens for demis in the city; since most biters have left the city, therefore it's like a graveyard of what humanity used to be. I have referred to buildings falling down. Which has been happening recently, mostly skyscrapers. Some buildings are safe to reside in.
"So, Cody. How are you holding up?" Jug asked, looking in my direction. "I'm doing fine." I was lying again of course. Dani shot a glare again, I didn't want her to beat my ass. "Well… I'm not doing so fine." I spoke up.
"You know that you have all of us on your side, you can talk to any of us." Jug smiled a bit and finished his soup rather quickly, being the fast eater he was.
"Speaking of everyone… where's Stalker and Andrew?" I looked at Jug. "They went out on a supply run." Jug looked around the campfire. "They were supposed to return an hour ago but they haven't returned yet."
I stood up. "Well…? Stop sitting there, let's go find them!" Dani grabbed my shoulder. "You aren't in the right mental state to go and find them; we have already sent Aria and Emmy to go find them."
"Yeah! Ted's mom is finding them!" Ted spoke up, Ted was only 4 years old, he's a bear demi; meaning he is unusually strong for his age. He hasn't unlocked his Inner Beast yet due to his young age.
If you don't know what that means, it means he hasn't unlocked any of his abilities yet. Where Alice is only 7 and has unlocked some of her abilities. Alice sat next to Ted, she was a cat demi; meaning she can jump high and form razor sharp claws; most demis that are carnivores or omnivores usually have the ability to form claws. Every Demi can morph into their own animal.
"Your mom is very strong." Jug smiled, referring to Emmy. Emmy was like a mom to the whole entire group. Stalker and Andrew were the leaders; since they were in the military and both being brothers, they had good leadership.
Stalker and Andrew were in the city, they had no luck gathering the supplies they needed. "Brother, we should head back. It's getting late…" Andrew spoke. Stalker looked at Andrew. "We have to keep going." He had his AK-47 to his side in case they spotted enemies.
Stalker was in his 40's, he had some grey spots around his hair and his beard. Andrew had a huge scar across his face and he was blind in his right eye. He wasn't greying since he was only in his late 20's.
They heard a scream, it sounded like a girl. Stalker held his AK-47 and ran towards the direction of the scream. Andrew pulled out his rifle and followed him swiftly, they turned the corner to see hunters attacking a girl; who was a demi. A dog demi in fact. There stood a tall man, taller than they've ever seen. Specifically the guy was 9 feet tall. He grabbed one of the hunters and crushed his head, blood splattered on his face.
"We should help them." Andrew aimed his rifle at a hunter. Stalker nodded. "Are you ready?" He looked at Andrew and he nodded instantly. "3…2…1 GO!" Andrew aimed his rifle and fired.
