《Cold Heart(Cancelled)》(V2)Chapter Eighteen: Enmity To Alliance

Muted movements, flowing with the shadows as a cabinet from a familiar desk in a familiar, bookish room was pulled towards my stomach, revealing all the documents that were stacked up nicely.
With speed, it didn't even take me a millisecond to finish it all, I flipped through all the pages of one thousand students, finding one where it stood out from the rest.
It had my name "Caden Dahil" next to a picture where it is just grey, I lurked down the page and saw no information about me at all, it just said, "We're investigating this student in secret".
Focused on the documents, looking at other students' information, the sounds of a door handle played in my head, making me react in a ready and quick manner.
The world froze around me, shading my eye vision black and white as the door was seen in a frozen, nudged open position, showing a shadowy, female type body that blocks out all of the invading bright light.
Getting closer to the unknown female, thoughts flooded my mind with calculations of who the person might be, it was all answered.
Ms Pace had a calm, relaxed mixed with tiredness expressed on her face, carrying a few documents in her right arm, seeming to be drained with energy.
Staring into Ms Pace's eyes, I was unexpectedly interrupted by sudden movements that came from Ms Pace herself, her fist suddenly dashed towards my way, I narrowly dodged the fist and zipped a few feet away from Ms Pace.
"What are you doing?" Ms Pace snarled.
"Investigation" I calmly answered.
"Why is it my room that you're investigating?" Ms Pace asked in a snapping, up guard way.
"Because you're the person who rules this school," I explained, "By the way, do you know who Benjamin Sabel is?" I added, discovering Ms Pace had lost her guard instantly, her hands started shaking visibly to the blind eye under the controlled heavy breathing.

"How do you know him?!" Ms Pace squeezed out.
"That was a test. I guess he's alive still huh?" I said, tilting my head to the side, seeing anger run down Ms Pace's face.
Ms Pace immediately rushed towards me, throwing punches that nearly caught me head-on, I knocked one of her hands away, blocking her knee attack with my knee.
Reacting to the sudden attack, I pushed my leg towards her way, planning to kick her in the chest but she amazingly gripped onto my ankle, watching me struggle to be free from her hand.
Finding a way to escape, I flipped my entire body which made Ms Pace lose grip since she needed to avoid my spinning kick, I watched her through the gap of my arm and saw her backflip away from the kick, giving us both some space.
Few feet away, we stared at each other in a fighting stance, waiting to see who would make the next move.
"You're pretty good" Ms Pace complimented under her heavy breathing.
"Who thought a clumsy person like you would be good as well" I responded.
"We all have our ups and downs" Ms Pace sighed.
We both made our charge as we ran at each other, throwing punches and any tactics we had to have an upper advantage to the fight.
Our blood swooshed past our eyes, splashing onto us both, swelling up the rapid leaking knuckles mixed with my arms and legs aching sorely.
Ms Pace found an opening where it led to her uppercutting me in the middle of my chest, blocking my breathing for a few seconds, she then threw a hook to the left side of my chin, jerking my head negligible.
Staggering away, I thought of opportunities to return a sneaky punch, I glanced at her shin and quickly aimed my feet at her shin, Ms Pace noticed this and jolted her left leg backwards being distracted by the move, giving me time to quickly jab her in the chin.

Ms Pace fazed from the jab, stumbled around in-between consciousness and unconsciousness, arching over in a crumbling position, letting me sweep her off the floor and quickly wrapping my strongest arm under her chin, pinning Ms Pace onto the floor.
"I got destroyed by a kid…" Ms Pace mumbled, struggling to let the words out.
"What was all that for?" I calmly asked.
"It's an order—An order where we take down anyone who knows Benjamin Sabel," Ms Pace answered, having a problem trying to escape from my pin.
"Really?" I replied, slapping her in the face which made her stop moving around in an instant.
"Yes—what do you want with him?" Ms Pace questioned, looking me in the eyes.
"Revenge" I answered.
"Revenge? Why would you need revenge?" Ms Pace inquired confused?
"He killed my family. Well, he destroyed their lives" I honestly explained, noticing guilt mixed with betrayal in Ms Pace's eyes.
"Ah—" Ms Pace quivered, glimpsing at her desk for a split second before looking back at me with a serious look on her face "I'll help you" Ms Pace continued.
Thinking about it for a long period of time, I eventually let her go still on guard, just in case she plans on attacking me blind, she struggled to her feet, rubbing her hand on her neck where my arm was once before.
"I'm pretty sure you already know that they're investigating your past, right?" Ms Pace groaned.
"Yes, I already knew about that" I answered truthfully.
"Right. So you understand why I was so curious about your past" Ms Pace quietly chuckled.
"Kind of" I responded.
Ruining the light mood, we sat down in a chair eventually afterwards, speaking about the alliance me and Ms Pace will be having in the shadows as we locate Benjamin's weakness and location.
"All I know is that he has a daughter under the strongest protection a person can ever have. Her name is Ashley Sabel, she is the same age as you" Ms Pace chattered.
"Why are you giving me this info?" I asked, looking at the info page of Ashley Sabel.
"Because you're becoming one of her guards" Ms Pace smirked.
As we were once sneakily enemies.
We became openly Allies.
