《Cold Heart(Cancelled)》(V1)Chapter Eight: Forest Punishment, A Slave? #3

Coldwater splashes on me from the endless dropping fountain, I looked through my legs and saw my own reflection stared back at me, darkened by unwelcoming devil work that made me remember my own past I never want to go back to.
We were mostly staying low since we were in the middle of all the squads that were still alive and hadn't been taken away yet from them mysterious men in suits.
"Are you going to come and eat with us or sit there all day and do jack shit?" Autumn's voice asked from behind me, I stood up from the ground, shifting my eyes toward Autumn who was standing under a tree to avoid the sun.
"Yes," I answered, following her to the enemy base we took over, there was leftover one spare tent that was used for food and drinks.
Kaylee was in a crouched position, cooking meat that was found in a small box, cooking it with her electricity powers, after they were done cooking she handed both me and Autumn a meat piece.
I looked at the cooked meat then glanced at Kaylee who was in her own world eating the meat away.
"Is this allowed to be eaten?" I questioned.
"Yes, it is allowed" Kaylee answered, covering her mouth as she spoke, sounding dampened.
The meat tasted like a regular authentic grill flavour, not adding any good to it, just tasted dull so I got through it pretty easily while drinking down the clean water from a plastic bottle.
"Since this Forest Punishment is probably created for bullies to get revenge or any to get their revenge on anyone they hate. Have any of you angered anyone so far?" Autumn spoke out, looking at both of us for some seconds.
"Hm...I don't think so, I'm mostly by myself" Kaylee answered.

"Who knows for me, I am a slave to Autumn-who is always smiling when I'm around so jealousy might have risen sometime around" I answered honestly but negligibly lying, I avoided talking about Ian at any cost.
"You're aren't my slave, you're my..." Autumn quietly replied, stopping herself as she looked away from me.
"I should be jealous as well then, ever since you've enrolled, she's been having her best life here. Did you manipulate her or something?" Kaylee asked, turning her resting face into a frowning monster.
"No no, I'm just her slave, sadistic people are happy when there are slaves around" I jokingly said.
We wasted our time running around in our territory, ignoring the most serious issue where we would get spotted, we jumped around in the water, doing flips off the rock wall that spurted out the hurricane fountain.
They were laughing loudly, enjoying their moment while I just faked mine, I guess I was "bored" because I didn't feel any enjoyment at all in these moments, I was just a mask that everyone fooled for.
Except to ones who I revealed it to.
Hunting down items drawn on the map was a very risky thing to do since some mystery items were on the lines of another enemy zone, risky items were searched last.
Controlled breathing, swaying through the bushes quietly, sneaking on the edge of the yellow territory, the item we were looking for was a box with drinks and more meat, we hid in bushes, watching to see if we spotted any yellow members roaming the edge so we could plan a group attack.
I turned my attention towards Autumn, letting her know that there weren't any enemies nearby, purple lightning generated off her as she zipped away from existence, appearing under a tree twenty-one feet away.

She clenched onto the box, immediately zipping back to us as we started making our escape to get further into our territory so we wouldn't have been caught by yellow enemies or any enemies in general.
When running through the cramped trees and leaves, getting scratched now and then, I kept feeling eyes were kept on us, never leaving a single second, the eyes will just stay locked on me of all people.
I waited till the two girls disappeared from my sight and crept up behind a tree bigger enough to hide me perfectly, I focused on my breathing, slowing and quieting it down, almost eliminating my sounds.
Sometime later, I started hearing leaves crunching get closer and closer near me, it got more closer and the sounds of heavy breathing made out that the person who was sneaking around wasn't fit at all.
"Fatty, be quieter you piece of shit!" An angered voice whispered before sounds of skin getting punched was heard afterwards.
"S-sorry" Another voice whispered, but this time they sound beaten and rough.
"Can't we just kill this bastard since nobody will be around to see it?" Another voice asked.
"That's a good idea! Let's kill Liam!" The other voice once annoyed sounded joyful.
"P-Please!" Liam begged.
"You motherfuckers" My cold voice accidentally slipped out, knowing this I slipped between the bushes, watching the two boys with a blue wristband glance around, trying to locate where the voice came from.
"Where are you?! Come out!" One voice yelled hostility, I was too busy trying my best sneakily snapping a stick in half, sharpening the end.
An opening revealed itself to me like the Gods were watching me, one of them moved far away from the crew, making it my move as I charged at him, repeatedly stabbing him in the chest, covering his mouth in the meantime.
Gently placing the stabbed up body onto the dirty ground, letting him get drowned and made my next move, I climbed up the trees and found the perfect spot to launch myself on this bully that was seen below me.
My feet launched off the collapsing trunk, finding its new ground as my feet dug itself onto the disgusting bully, dropping him into the ground, nastily cracking his collarbones.
"W-Who-" Liam's voice started to scream before I quickly grabbed him and covered his mouth where he couldn't speak at all, nearly suffocating him.
This somehow calmed him down, I took my hands off his mouth, still staying on guard, watching him turn his whole bruised body towards me, looking very relieved.
"Y-You saved me-I'm finally saved, I'm saved, Oh My God" Liam cried, dropping to the ground, covering his tearing face.
"I guess you're saved, this will be the last time you'll be saved because I won't save your ass the second time" I replied, staring at the back of this crying boy.
"Then let me become your disciple! You can teach me then!" Liam abruptly said to me.
I guess I have my own slave now.

Journeys in the Fairworld: The Gatekeeper
Lindsey Fluger was only slightly past eighteen. There was nothing particularly special about her, save that she happened to be the right person at the right time. When Lindsey is asked to join an expedition to another world she makes the mistake of saying yes, plunging herself into a sea of perilous adventure and dark intrigue. Journeys in the Fairworld is a fantasy anthology series set in The Fairworld, a magical realm existing in parallel with our own world which is governed by a group elfin beings known only as “The Good Folk”. These mysterious entities work in secret to keep the peace between the myriad of peoples and nations which dwell in The Fairworld. Complex relationships and bitter rivalries emerge against a backdrop of constrained resources and conflicting values to produce a world of high adventure and tangled mysteries. This novel is technically already completed, and I am currently in the final stages of proofing or editing. As such, there may be a few typos and errors here and there. The final version should be about 130,000 words long, which I will be releasing in stages as I continue editing. I'd love to hear your feedback and comments! If you want to read more stories from Journeys in the Fairworld, please checkout “Journeys in the Fairworld: The Brigand of Potham”, which is also available here on Royal Road Legends. https://www.royalroadl.com/fiction/19369/journeys-in-the-fairworld-the-brigand-of-potham
