《The subtle World of Terraria》2-14. Disciples and a Misunderstanding

*Evan POV*
“So, let me get this straight.” I said as I held my finger to my temples. “You're the only ones who know that there is a use for fallen stars and no one else knows anything about it. And you don't want anyone to know about it......because?” I asked as I looked towards Oswald and Lucy who were sitting down on a sieza in front of me.
“Finding fallen star is hard enough and with rivals, finding them would be near impossible.” Oswald told me while looking apologetic for not listening to my demands.
“Sure, but I still need 50 fallen stars.” I said, completely ignoring the trouble these two went for.
The reason I need so many fallen stars is so I could permanently increase my max mana, this way I can Max out my Mana, and keep some spares for future use. Well, regardless of how much I pestered them for it, they both looked hesitant about it.
“The thing is,” Oswald started explaining, “We also really need it. The Elven kingdom has already requested a lot of Mana potions for their mages because of an upcoming festival which will happen very soon.”
Oswald looked over to Lucy for her help and she added in, “We already signed the contract, which is why we need the fallen stars for our potions”
I shook my head helplessly. I really need to increase my max mana because I’m relying a lot on my skills and most of them require mana to be used.
“Then how about 25 Fallen Stars?” I asked them.
“T-Twenty! Please!” Lucy said, desperately trying to protect herself and her store.
“Fine, I'll take them.” I gave up in the end and took whatever I could.
“T-Three silver each!” Lucy quickly told me.
Well, it is a business in the end. I nodded to Lucy as they both got up from the ground and breathed a sigh of relief, it’s as if they just overcame a really difficult boss battle. Oswald went and got me the stars I needed and I gave the total 54 silver coins costs for all the ingredients I had to get.
I didn’t really notice but I think they’re both distancing themselves from me now. I don’t really care about them so I went towards the alchemist table and started making the potions I needed for the Cultists and the Eye of Cthulhu.
4 Mana crystals: Permanently increases Mana by 20.
5 Swiftness potions: Increases movement speed by 25% for 2 min.
5 iron skin: Increases defence by 8 points for 4 min.
5 Regeneration potions: Increase life Regen for 4 min.
50 lesser health potions.
Alright, buff potions, check. Health potions that I will turn into money soon, check. Now all I need is better armor and then I'll be set.
“Okay, I'm all done.” I said to Lucy and Oswald who were far away from me and looking at me like I’m some sort of circus animal.
“That was quick. What did you even make?” Lucy asked me, which caught me a little bit off-guard.
“Hm? Well I used my crafting list, why?” I said as if it’s a matter of fact until I remembered that they don’t have the system with them.
“Crafting list? What's that?” Lucy asked me curiously.
“Uh nothing I was just talking to myself.” I quickly lied in order to protect myself.
“Weirdo, so what did you actually make?” Lucy asked me again.
“These 2 potions.” I said as I took out an Iron-skin potion and a Swiftness potion.

The iron-skin potion was yellow in colour and the Swiftness potion was green in colour. The reason I took these 2 out was that no matter how much I think about it, I can't just take out 70 different potions and say that I made them all in an instant without the use of the crafting list. Lucy walked up to me and stared at these potions curiously.
“I don't...know them? There's no way I don't know Them!?” Lucy shouted at me, I don’t know if she’s angry or feels threatened by my presence.
“Woah calm down!” I responded, “It's just an Iron-skin potion and a Swiftness potion. They’re pretty basic things.”
“What are... Those potions?” Lucy said as she looked petrified.
Is not knowing two potions that big of a deal? Well these are pretty basic things so maybe that's why?
“Don't worry Sensei!” Oswald quickly said, trying to calm Lucy down. “Even if you don't know about those two potions, you still hold the first place in the Alchemist contest for knowing how to make 8 different types of Potions!”
I have absolutely no idea what they’re talking about, but I do know that there’s much more than 8 potions in Terraria.
“Just Eight? I know how to make, like 50 different potions.” I bragging about my knowledge in front of a 12 year old child.
It seems like I said too much since Lucy looked like her heart was pierced as she fell forward on to the ground.
“SENSEI!!!” Oswald screamed as he ran up to her.
… Uhh, I didn’t know it was that big of a deal. Also, note to self, I need to learn to keep my mouth shut in situations like these.
“................ple” Lucy said something from the ground so quiet that I didn't hear, but it seems like Oswald heard her and now he looks petrified.
"Uh, Could you say that again? I didn't heard ya." I told her
“Please Make me your Disciple!” Lucy looked up from the ground with stars in her eyes.
Woah, woah! You change gears way too fast! But regardless.
“No.” I said unhesitantly with zero remorse.
Lucy looked at me shocked again.
“WHY!?” She screamed out.
“Because I don't know how to teach and the crafting system crafts everything I need for me.” ...As if I would say that.
“Because I'm busy with my work right now. Maybe some other time.” I said, which wasn’t really a lie. I am busy with the Cultists and Luna who was waiting for me back at the Guild.
Lucy almost looked like she gave up, but she still asked me, “T-Then, where can I find you, If I ever need your help?”
“Hm? I’m usually near the Adventurers guild.” I responded without thinking of any consequences.
“Then I'll meet you there tonight!” Lucy said happily.
Oops. I even told myself that I needed to learn how to keep my mouth shut.
“W-Wait Sensei! What about the Mana potions for the Elf Kingdom!?” Oswald reminded Lucy of her duties as I was trying to find out any way she would not chase after me.
Oswald and Lucy started having their talk while I was thinking about how to fix the problem I landed myself in. I can't teach! I don't know how to! And it's not like, if I think that I want to teach Lucy how to make a healing potion, and the system will ask me to make it happen!?
*Do you want to teach Lucy on how to make a Healing potion?*
Why didn't you tell me that sooner!? You damned broken piece of 80’s software! And No, don’t teach her anything for now.
“Okay guys, you do your thing I have to go now and I don't know how long I will stay at the Adventurers guild. So, if you want me to teach you, then come today.” I told Lucy as I tried running away from there.
“YES! SHISHO!” Lucy said excitedly as if there were stars in her eyes.
“Wait Sensei! What about the Mana potions!?” Oswald kept trying to remind Lucy of her duties which she kept ignoring.
“Listen Oswald, you remember all the training I’ve given you up till now, right?” Lucy said, patting his shoulders. “I'm going to give you a mission to make these potions. If you succeed then I will teach you how to craft a regeneration potion.”
“Y-YES! Sensei! I won't let you down!” Oswald screamed out in response.
... He's actually quite easy. I thought in the end.
I waved goodbye and left them quickly before I would get stuck into anything else more troublesome. My destination now was towards the Adventurers guild. I got the potions, and the money from my underground exploration. The last thing left was some good ‘ol armor. On the way to the guild, I also used the 4 mana crystals I had made and now I had a total of 6 Mana stars.
Mana:(120/120)
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
I need to develop a plan with Liza on how to catch these Cultists. We still have Lenard tied up so maybe Liza somehow got more info out of him? She did say that she had experience with interrogation and torture so maybe she got some new info. I was walking towards the guild then I noticed a completely hooded person following me.
Cultists?
It's probably them. No one else this shady in the neighbourhood, well, I, myself haven’t stayed here for long but my gut is telling me that I’m being followed by a Cultist. Now, how should I deal with this? I thought to myself as I opened up my inventory. I’m checking my options well, as I walked the road while making sure the cultist following me is not suspicious about my acting.
I still have an Invisibility potion which I got from the same chest I got the sparking wand from so I guess I can use this. I went towards a lone alleyway on the side and walked in there. I only walked a little bit and was hit by a dead end. Perfect. I thought to myself as I quickly drunk an invisibility potion. The swirling cyan coloured liquid went down my throat and there was no taste. Moments later, I could no longer see my hand. Seems like I’m completely invisible.
The suspicious person came here and was shocked to see I wasn't there. He looked around for me but there I left no trace. I sneaked up behind him and did a karate chop to his neck. The same one which Liza did when she knocked Lenard out cold.
*Skill unlocked: Sleeping chop*
Sleeping chop: when the target is unaware of your presence then using this will make them go to sleep.
Duration: 2 min
Mana cost: 20 MP
Cooldown: instant
He didn't faint and quickly looked behind. Probably because I hadn’t unlocked the chop attack before, Thankfully I was invisible so he didn’t see me. He was frantically looking around for what just happened but I quickly sneaked to his back and this time I used the Sleeping Chop skill on him again. My hand struck his neck and he went out cold before he fell down on the dirty pavement.
All in a day’s work.
I quickly took his hood off and...Oh? he's a she. This is the second time I’ve mistaken a girl to a guy. Regardless, she was quite beautiful with pointy ears and long straight black hair with an Amber coloured pin on the top of her head.
Wait a second. I thought to myself. Long ears? Is she an Elf? But that doesn’t make any sense. There’s no elves in Terraria!
In the end I decided to ignore her race since I, myself, am not human. I quickly took out some rope that I got from the mysterious pots in the caves and hurriedly tied her arm and legs firmly.
Never in my life I thought I would be tying a girl up. Well I did thought of that once but that was a kinky thought not an actual “tying one up in the streets” thought.
I took out a water bottle that I bought from the Alchemist duo, pulled its cork out and threw water at her face. She started coughing as she shook her head and finally opened her eyes.
“W-What?” The terrified Elven girl asks
I did my very best to put on an intimidating face and started asking questions “Who are you and why were you following me!?”
I guess my intimidation somewhat worked since I just got another new skill.
*Skill unlocked: Intimidation*
Intimidation: Consume 2 Mana per second to intimidate the target and inflict fear. Effects increase with an intimidating face, voice, words spoken, and if the target thinks he/she is cornered.
lovely timing. I suck at intimidating others since they always think of me as a joke, but with this new skill I’ll show them all my terrifying presence!
She was scared moments ago but suddenly went completely quiet with a resolute face. I didn’t really realize what she was doing until my notification tab suddenly light up and I received a notification from the system telling me that my target has just used some magic.
*Target has casted Wind Whisper*
Hm? What's that?
Wind Whisper: can be used to speak with someone telepathically.
Uhh? What? It took me a second to think but then it finally clicked. Wait! hold on! That means their reinforcements are coming! I thought to myself. I spared no moment and immidiately used the new intimidation skill I got. I made the best intimidating face I could muster and talked in the most commanding voice I could muster.
I don’t know if it was just me but I think a terrifying blackish aura was emanating out of me.
“Listen here woman.” I said angrily to get bonus intimidate points. “If you're not going to talk then I will make you talk.”
I smiled really creepily. I’m trying to make the Intimidation skill as potent as I can so I have to check all the things its description said would make it more potent.
“I won't kill you, but I will cripple you. I will first break your fingers Then I will cut off your tongue. So, no one will hear your scream then I'll cut your legs off and feed them to the zombies outside of town, all this while you to watch it ALL! AND THEN ILL R*** YOU! BUT I WON’T KILL YOU! ILL GIVE YOU A FATE MUCH, MUCH WORSE THEN DEATH! HAHAHAHAHAHA!” I said whatever BS that came into my mind which would make a normal woman fear me.
{Author Note: The only thing that did was it made me cringe up a little bit.}
Oh my God. I can't believe I'm acting like some kind of Edge lord now. I was getting Goosebumps of my acting even though I had Pain Immunity On. Obviously, I don't really mean any of what I just said, I only said it because I’m at the end of my stick and I don’t want to be surrounded by Cultists I had to make her think like I'm some sort of a really evil guy.
I was grimacing in embarrassment on the inside but all the cringy feeling that I felt was instantly gone when I started to smell something....... very smelly. I guess I was too focused in trying to get info out of her that I didn’t notice a little something before. But, beneath the Elf girl, there was a yellow puddle that was slowly becoming big for which I smelled the smelly smell.
Don't tell me...
I looked at the girl who was trying to hide her face with her hands. I moved her hands away and she had an ugly face on as she was crying a lot.
“Pleaze.” She said in between her cries. “pleze forgve me.”
What!? What the hell happened to your ‘I will yield to no one!’ face!?
Scary! Too scary!!
The Intimidation is supposed to make others scared of you but now I’m scared of it! I quickly deactivated it, because no one man should have this much power.
“Reid… what are you doing?” Someone behind be said with a voice coolder than ice.
I felt a chill behind my as I realized who just called me out. It was my supposed Princess, Luna. Who I thought was locked back in the Guild. I need to quickly get her on my side no matter what happens! I hope to God she didn’t hear what I said the Elf girl in desperation.
“L-Luna, Q-Quick help me console her. She’s misunderstanding something.” I said, wanting to clear the misunderstanding but even my own words were fumbling up.
I still hoped Luna didn’t heard what I said before but then she dropped a bomb shell on me.
“Were you going to...... R*pe her?” Luna looked at me as if she was looking at a disgusting cockroach. Man, hearing a 16-year-old say that feels really weird. Regardless, I have to clear my name.
“N-No! Like I said, I-It’s misunderstanding!” I quickly said, trying save myself what little I could.
“SOMEONE SAVE ME PLEASE!!!” The elf girl cried and yelled out. “I DONT WANT TO BE R*PED!!”
Luna looked at me with even colder eyes. Like a demon lord looking down at the captured weak hero. I could not escape. There was no escape route. And thus I gave up in the end and resigned myself to fate.
“WHAT THE HELL DO YOU THINK YOU'RE DOING TO TIFAAAA!?!?” Someone screamed, I looked towards the voice and someone was jumping down from the sky.
“WHERE THE HELL DID YOU POP OUT FROM!?” I screamed with all my frustration but it didn't really matter in the end.
This is the end for me.

Given a recommendation by his master, Asura ventures out to broaden his horizons and to learn magic. Follow Asura’s journey and his quest to reach Everlastinghood. Comment by the author: Looking at the chapter list, you might have noticed Volume 1 is not there. The reason is that it’s in the process of being published so I’m somewhat restricted in where and how I can post it. Edit. 18/04/2017 The first volume is now officially on sale. It is no longer possible to get the first volume for free. I am sorry but it was free for a long time and it was time for it. However if you like to support me you can find th first volume here on Amazon (getBook.at/TheEverlasting) Compared to other stories on Royal Road this one is faster paced. No artificial extensions of the story by spending forever in generic constructs, like random ranking tournaments, that don’t really matter for the overall plot. That’s the plan anyway. Volumes consist roughly of 30-35k words. Additionally: I am not a native speaker, nor have I had any formal education in the English language. I am trying very hard to improve myself. If you want to help me by proofreading my story, shoot me a PM and we’ll see if we can arrange something. Other than my thanks and fake internet points I can’t offer anything, though. Yeah, poor student here… Edit 22/06/2017 Hey the story is officially ended if i ever decide to continue it will be on another date. The ending is open for anyone to use their imagination. Thank you all for the support. I hope we could meet later in the Everlasting II. Respectfully Biako
