The four hours passed by quickly and instead of rest, Kai was instead squished by two girls. His wounds had already healed seconds after he drank the blood and so he was in perfect condition to fight. If this was before, Kai would need days to heal his inner wounds and calm his blood but the vampire blood was stronger than both demon and angel blood and suppressed them forcefully.

"We only have one chance to defeat the Immortal, Umi, you've already informed everyone right?"

"Mm."

Umi nodded in response.

"Then, immediately begin preparations after we leave, you guys will only have a few minutes. If any of us mess this up, we'll all die."

Hearing that, Date gulped.

"Hey, Kai... Do I really have to be the one to lead it?"

"Yeah, it's important that you do so. You're the only one who can manipulate water after Umi and she's already part of the formation so she can't move, everyone's lives are relying on you."

Once more removing the pendant from his neck and summoned cold air.

"Erina, are you ready?"

Erina opened her eyes which turned white and her silver hair glowed.

"Yes."

"Then, Amelia."

"Got it."

Amelia raised her hand and snapped her fingers, the three of them disappeared immediately after that.

"...Those mongrels. Soul, how many more skeletons left?"

"About half are left, should I go assist them?"

"No, they can't be killed by anyone with connections to me otherwise it won't work. Nevermind that, have you found their location?"

The figure covered in darkness stood still for a second before responding.

"No, none of the teleportation circles I placed around the continent found anything and I also didn't sense anyone teleporting away... This is strange, this means that they found a way to teleport without being sensed and that they aren't in the continent- or at least deep underground. What about the blades on the floor?"

"Don't bother, we can't use it. That's living metal, even if you overpower the opponent's brain waves, it still wouldn't acknowledge you, it serves only one master at a time."

Blue roses appeared between Fate's fingers as he waved his hand.

"Those fools think they can actually defeat me, I'm getting even stronger by the second."

The blue roses in his hand burst and had over a thousand petals for each one. If he could only make them form a hundred before, he could make them form a thousand now, that was ten times the amount. At his peak, he would be able to form even more than this but right now, this was his limit.

"The moment they return is the moment they die."

The soul-like figure stayed silent but he was inwardly terrified. The power that Fate held wasn't anything that a human could lay their hands on. If he hadn't interfered and if Amelia were to really stab through Fate's heart, perhaps he might really be killed but now, they weren't even near Kai's level. If Kai with four wings and his bloodline rampant was at a ten and Fate at the time was an eleven, now, he was at a hundred. There was no way for Kai to contest with him now, he had completely entered the realm of legends once more.

"A decay period, how inconvenient is that?"

"Very, I only experience it every fifty thousand years and it only lasts for a year but it suppresses me to not even one percent of my power but I can lessen the time by gathering fear- the power I've chosen. A continent bathing in blood will undoubtedly gather enough and even just a kingdom's worth of fear would be enough to give me back the power of SS-class immediately but unfortunately, all of my plots were seen through."

Remembering that, Fate grinded his teeth in anger with his red hair fluttering because of the wind flowing through the torn wall.

"...True immortality is really impossible for humans to achieve, huh..."

"No, I don't believe in that. I just took some wrong steps but I'm certain that after I pass this year's decay period, I will be able to achieve it. There's something different about this year's decay period, I can't tell what it is but I can feel it. If you follow me, I'll certainly give you rewards and may even give you immortality assuming you are invaluable to my plans."

"I will do all that you ask, my lord."

The soul-like figure was ecstatic, this was the entire reason he was following Fate after all, he'd do anything for a shot at immortality. What is the most important for a researcher? He's practicing forbidden magic, he needs time more than the others because he can't research without anyone's knowledge, his progress is many times slower. If he becomes Immortal, how much time would he have?

Thinking about all that made him more motivated than ever.

Before he could suggest one more plan of action, Fate's eyes sharpened and quickly moved to block an attack from behind him. The soul-like figure didn't see it until Fate moved but there were two figures there, one in a black trench coat and another in a white dress.

Fate used his arm to block but just as their hands touched his, it froze his entire arm and then spread to his body.

"W-what is this ice?!"

Kai and Erina leapt backwards just as Fate was about to use his other arm to attack. Since Fate was many time stronger than before, this attack would definitely catch them but unfortunately, the ice slowed him down and just as his hand stretched out, he froze completely.

Sure, this wasn't an attack from a Goddess and was from people way weaker than him but it was still her power she personally bestowed upon them. Although it couldn't do just as it name implied, stay for eternity, it was more than enough for them to delay the Immortal.

"Now!"

The blades scattered around the floor moved towards Kai at an insane speed and formed into armor around him. Amelia appeared and brought Kai and Erina with her into a cocoon of blood and disappeared. A magic circle appeared below Fate which instantly teleported him and left behind the soul-like figure who was still dumbfounded.

"They're here!"

Seeing the bright flash of light heading downwards, everyone immediately tensed up. Umi who was one of the key parts of the formation was the first to notice it and immediately informed the rest. In front of them was a giant magic circle with six points. Yoko, Heliana, Kei, and Arata were separated from the others, Natsumi and Kazuki were in one point, Umi also had a point to herself but near her was Date,

At this point, everybody remembered Kai's warning from Umi's words.

This formation will take up the entirety of your mana so we only have one shot.

A figure covered in ice fell down to the center of the magic circle and a cocoon of blood appeared right outside of the formation.

"Activate!"

Six pillars of light rose up and they all corresponded to each element, white, dark, red, blue, green, and yellow. Earth would normally be related closely to brown but its true color is yellow.

At that moment, the ice began to crack and Fate's head broke out of it but it was too late, six giant chains began wrapping around him and drowned his screams.

Seeing the formation, Kai closed his eyes.

It was already too late for them to kill Fate, they had already failed but there was still one more chance, if Kai could trap Fate in the illusion world.

Amelia took Kai's hand after seeing his state and mirrored his movements. Erina saw this and did the same.

...You don't need to do that, you know?

Kai wanted to tell Erina that she couldn't do anything and only the two have the access for the illusion world could do this but now wasn't the time."

""Thou that hast been forged by the mightiest, we command thee to activate and seal the threat that has invaded this sacred place, [World Seal]!""

Commanding the world before them along with the power of the six chains, Fate began feeling intense pain and was slowly being buried into the floor.

"THIS ISN'T ENOUGH TO HOLD ME!"

Fate broke through one of the chains causing Kai to furrow his brows.

"Date!"

Date jumped into the point and strengthened Umi's chain. The one that broke was Natsumi and Kazuki's because fire had an advantage against wind.

We underestimated his strength...!

Kai grit his teeth, turned into lightning and zoomed in to fight Fate. Amelia saw this and widened her eyes.

"Kai, no!"

Fate broke through the chains but Kai arrived just in time to punch him down. Then, he landed a kick but was stopped but that was all the time he needed. Even while knowing he was going to get caught up, Kai still decided to jump in because none of his attacks could delay Fate unless he charged up.

"This is going to be troublesome... Amelia, Erina, I'll be back soon."

Kai turned his face towards them, the helmet retracted and showed Kai with an insanely rare smile on his face.

The magic circle glowed and let out a sound and teleported Kai along with Fate to a place that only God knows where.
