《Rebirth: Monarchs》Chapter 119: Godlike Blacksmithing

Inside a workshop which was well-lit, Kai stood while holding a large piece of metal in his hands. Erina and Arata were sitting in chairs at the side.
"What are you going to do with that?"
Erina asked, tilting her head while approaching him. Kai merely smiled at her.
"Step back for a bit."
Erina nodded and move backwards by three steps. Kai saw that and focused his eyes on the piece of metal in his hands, he then closed his eyes and red-orange flames ignited from his arms until it wrapped around the metal.
At a speed visible to the naked eye, the metal melted but it did not fall and instead began to shape itself into that of a sword. When it was perfectly shaped, the flames disappeared and were replaced with ice. There was no steam, only the visible cold air, the molten hot metal was instantly frozen and encased in ice. After a few seconds, the ice broke apart revealing a sword with no flaws and had very sharp edges.
"Amazing..."
Arata muttered.
"That was the fastest blacksmithing I've ever seen, it only lasted half a minute..."
Kai ignored Arata and placed the sword on a table then hovered his hand over it. A magic circle appeared and slowly, the metal sword began being carved.
"...Done."
Runes glowed on the sword's body for a few seconds before the light faded.
"Arata, the reason I called you all here is for one reason only, to make you all stronger."
"...Huh?"
"Soon, a war will break out. Of course, you all have no relation to this war and I don't want you all to participate. You all will prepare for the biggest event in mankind's history that takes place in three years. Hero summoning and Demon King subjugation."
Erina's eyes widened as she looked at Kai.
"Where did you hear that from?"
"I'll tell you someday."
Although Erina felt that it was weird for him to say that, Kai's bittersweet expression stopped her from asking.
Kai faced Arata.
"Arata, although I can't tell you where I got this information from, know this: the members of Memento Mori right now and in the future will have a huge role to play in the war. The reason I decided to accept your invitation was not only because of a whim, I had gathered you all for a reason."

Kai stopped for a bit and let Arata take the information in before continuing.
"I will create you all Enchanted Gear, free of charge from this day forward. I'm counting on you to break the news to the others, I'll handle the Crown Prince, Yoko, and Natsumi it doesn't have to be now. You all must become strong and reach S-class at the very least within these three years."
Arata's eyes widened.
"No, no, no, that's impossible for me..."
Kai placed a hand on Arata's shoulder.
"You can do it."
Although Arata wanted to deny him, Kai's serious face wouldn't allow him to.
Maybe it's really possible...
Of course, Arata would soon regret not refusing.
Kai turned around and took an even larger piece of metal with a darkish-purple luster. He then stretched out his arms towards the side and closed his fists which ignited into golden flames.
"Shock resistant metal, SK-00 is a metal I found inside some ancient temples that were buried thousands of feet underground. The sheer amount I found is enough to create weapons for an entire small army. It's quite a pain to smelt because not only is it almost shock proof, its melting point is also insanely high, at least five times as much as tungsten. I'm not good at science but I know that heat at that level could turn a person into a charred corpse in an instant. I'm going to create some weapons now, Erina, Arata, go ahead and leave."
The two nodded, Arata left first while Erina stared at his back for a few seconds before departing.
Once the two left, Kai set up a barrier which was resistant to fire which closed off him and the metal from everything else.
"For everyone's sake."
Kai said as he closed his eyes and the golden flames wrapped around his fists spread throughout his entire body.
The golden flames that were around his body began to go towards his right hand, the golden flames then began to glow brighter and brighter then... disappeared.
"...Hell Flame."
The tip of his index finger suddenly ignited in black flame like a gas torch. He then pointed his index finger at the metal and like a flamethrower, it began melting the piece of metal and like before, Kai manipulated the liquid metal and formed itself into a shield.

"Eternal... Frost!"
Kai's hair and eyes turned white and in an instant, the black flames disappeared to be replaced with crystal clear ice. After that, Kai lost all the power in his body as his white hair and eyes turned back into black, he fell on one knee and had a fist holding him up from the floor. Inside the crystal clear ice was a darkish-violet square shield like an ancient weapon frozen inside an iceberg.
Kai panted heavily and clutched his chest with his other hand.
"For the future... For Erina, Amelia, and for everyone!"
Air with the color of red, blue, brown, green, black, and white gathered around Kai and went inside his body at an amazing pace. After a few minutes, Kai stood up as the ice cracked and shattered; revealing the shield which fell to the floor.
Kai took out a mallet and spike made with the same material as the shield and began carving.
The only metal that I can use to carve runes on the SK-00 is the same metal, even the strongest metal on the planet will have difficulty because it's simply hard and doesn't have much special properties.
Quite a bit of time passed before Kai could finish his runes.
"...Complete shock nullification, elemental resistance, elemental absorption, kinetic energy conversion and release, what a monstrous shield. Not only can it absorb almost anything, it can also reflect them back as physical attacks. Just one more rune..."
Kai continued hammering down on the shield.
Hours and hours passed before Kai could finally finish that one rune.
"Magical energy conversion and attribute-less release, now it's the perfect weapon and shield."
Kai raised the shield while feeling satisfied and took out some food and water from his pendant and began scarfing them down. His mana was nearly infinite but his stamina and body weren't. After an hour or two of eating, Kai gulped down the last of the food in front of him and took out two pieces of a different metal.
"LH-02 an extremely light metal with hardness thrice that of tungsten, boiling point is also thrice of tungsten. A good material for the body of a spear."
Like before, Kai used the hell flame and eternal frost which left him extremely exhausted. Kai continued this way for awhile and when he finally finished, Amelia came barging in.
"Kai, seriously... I told you that whenever you're going to smith some weapons, don't lose track of time, you've been holed in here for a month! I managed to do something about the council but Erina and the others are worried, they couldn't open the door because it was closed by a barrier."
"I just finished, sorry."
Kai sat down on the floor and gestured for Amelia to go towards him. Amelia did as he wanted and sat down in the middle of his legs. Kai hugged Amelia from behind and kissed her neck.
"Nn~ Kai, wait... It's too early for that..."
Kai chuckled and revealed his neck.
"Go ahead. I'm already rested."
Amelia looked worriedly at him for a second before leaning backwards while placing her fangs on his neck. She then began sucking his blood while Kai stroked her hair. They stayed like that for a few seconds before Amelia released him and licked her lips.
"Thank you for the meal."
Kai smiled wryly.
"Did you run out of blood pellets?"
"Nn."
"I'm pretty sure I placed at least three months' worth of my blood in those."
Amelia mischievously stuck out her tongue.
"How could I resist your blood when it's right at my fingertips?"
"Seriously, to use your only source of food at the time as snacks, you need to control yourself more. If it goes on like this, you might even get fat."
"What?!"
Amelia hurriedly stood up and removed the straps on her shoulders and lowered her dress, revealing her ample chest.
So she went braless today... I know that nobody in this kingdom can take her but I doubt that nobody approached her, looks like I'll have to teach her some things...
Amelia began squishing her stomach and only after a few pinches did she breathe a sigh of relief and wear her dress properly.
"Seriously, Kai don't scare me like that."
Kai shrugged his shoulders and stood up.
"Let's go."
"Nn."
Amelia nodded with a smile as she leaned forward and hooked arms with Kai as they walked out.
