Yoshino vanished from his spot and with wind covering his fist, he punched Arata's stomach. The wind passed through Arata's stomach and made a visible gust of air burst out from his back. Arata's eyes turned blank and he lost consciousness for an instant. Yoko slashed down with her dagger but Yoshino vanished and kicked Yoko's side. Yoko managed to block with her arm but it got dislocated.

Yoko's eye twitched in pain but before she could launch a counterattack, Yoshino had already arrived. Just as Yoshino was about to land a second blow, he had to stop and use a ball of wind to disperse a large ball of water heading towards him. Then, flames dispersed the wind immediately.

Yoshino leapt backwards and raised a wall of water. Yoko appeared from behind him and aimed a dagger at his neck. She was going for the kill.

The knife stopped moving just as the edges of Yoshino's neck bled. The wind stopped Yoko from moving.

"YOU INSECTS! I'LL SHOW YOU WHAT IT MEANS TO ANGER ME!"

Yoshino's face twisted in anger and a rampaging wind centered around him. Yoko had to leap back several meters and Kei used the opportunity to use his flames.

"[Explosive Sword]!"

Kei slashed down and just as the name implied, the wind that rampaged around Yoshino exploded in flames when it came in contact with the burning sword.

"Kei, dodge!"

"Huh?"

Kei's grin vanished and just as the wind dispersed, a stream of water shot out from the flames and slammed into Kei's abdomen. With that single attack that hit Kei while his guard was down, one of the members of Mementori were knocked out. Arata was being healed by Umi to the bare minimum before Arata ran forward with his shield.

Umi could do little with her attribute so being a support was the best choice. Date accompanied Arata and leaped using his back.

"[Aqua Line]!"

Date pointed his sword forward and a line of water shot out from the tip of the sword. But before the attack could go further, he slashed down and the line of water became a guillotine.

Arata stomped his foot and a piece of rock pushed his foot forward. It was like a trigger being pulled, Arata arrived right next to Yoshino in an instant. With both attacks heading for Yoshino, Yoko took the opportunity to vanish into the shadows.

"Like I said, insects! You think just by working together, you have the power to defeat me?!"

Yoshino threw his long sword forward, Arata blocked it with his shield and thrust his spear out. Date's [Aqua Line] was dispersed by wind. Yoko appeared from under Arata's shadow and thrust both daggers towards Yoshino's neck.

"..."

Yoshino's angry expression turned calm in an instant, it sent chills down Yoko, Date, and Arata's spines.

"Noble Sword..."

Before anyone knew it, Yoshino already had the rapier in his hand.

"...16 thrusts."

Arata, Date, and Yoko were wounded and had to retreat backwards.

Arata glared at Yoshino.

"That's... the noble sword technique. It's a defense type of sword style and is only taught to nobles. I've only learned 1 thrust because the technique was incompatible with me but even that 1 thrust had amazing power. He can't use it for attacks but with this, his defense is off the charts."

Yoshino looked down on the three of them who were tending to their wounds. Although most of them were light, there were still some that stabbed into them deeply. A rapier was thin and ideal for piercing but only up to skin. But a rapier enhanced by the power of magic was a weapon to be frightened.

With each thrust of the rapier, mana accompanied it and each of their wounds were opened further. Arata had a strong body but he was slow, he was hit 5 times, Date was hit 4 times out of 5 thrusts, and Yoko was hit twice out of 6 thrusts.

I could only see the afterimages of his hands and the rapier...

Yoko furrowed her brows when she looked at her left hand which was trembling. The rapier had hit her shoulder and it was harder to use it. Her right arm was dislocated but it was put back into place before Yoko dived into Arata's shadow.

Arata was unable to continue battle because the rapier had pierced through his leg and gave him several wounds on other places. Date was the least injured because the attacks had only grazed him due to the distance.

"I'm back!"

Kei ran next to them and several water bullets shot towards Yoshino.

"Umi, heal Arata quickly. I'll end this now. Kei, Date, stand back for now. Your Highness, I'll throw him towards you, make him fly."

"Nn!"

Umi nodded and began healing Arata's leg.

Yoko took some metal plates and a thin wooden box from under her cloak and attached the metal plates to parts like her forearm and shoulders. Then, she hid her daggers and opened the wooden box. Inside were two lustrous black daggers with runes carved into them.

"Enchanted Gear: Snake's Fangs."

(A/N: I said I wanted Enchanted Gear to have Latin names but I don't really know much about Latin so I'll have to retract what I said before.)

"Don't think you can stand against me just because you've gotten hold of an Enchanted Gear, you insect!"

"If I'm an insect then you're dust that can't even be seen! Borrowing power and acting all high and mighty makes you trash! [Fast Movement], [Nimble Footwork]!"

The movement techniques placed strain on the body but up to a certain limit. When Akane had casted it with [Double Cast] multiple times, her body had been placed under enormous strain that if she hadn't been healed, her legs would've stopped functioning altogether. Although casting [Nimble Footwork] on top of [Fast Movement] didn't increase as much as using [Double Cast], it placed a larger strain.

[Double Cast] was technique designed to duplicate while [Fast Movement] and [Nimble Footwork] weren't techniques that were designed to be used together. Using two techniques that weren't compatible to be used together placed more strain and costs more mana. Right now, Yoko's speed was 2.5 times more than normal.

Although a simple increase by half the speed didn't sound like a lot, Yoko's base speed was already fast enough to be called inhuman. When using [Fast Movement], Yoko's speed is enough to near mach speed and when [Nimble Footwork] is added on top of it, she passes it.

A sonic boom exploded from Yoko's previous position and Yoshino's cheek was suddenly hit by her knee. Before he could be blown away, Yoko landed on the floor and hooked him using the back of her leg. Then with Yoko's leg wrapped around Yoshino's back, she spun so fast that the next thing Yoshino knew, he was slammed into the wall.

During that time, she had slashed Yoshino in multiple places without him knowing. When Yoshino landed on the wall, the cuts that Yoko had made gushed out blood.

"You bitch!"

"So you can say something other than 'insect' and 'pest', huh?"

Before Yoshino knew, Yoko was already beside him and pulled his arm.

"[Twin Dragon's Rage]."

While Yoshino was in the air, Yoko disappeared from her position and appeared a few meters away from her previous position.

"Bleed."

Yoshino who was in the air suddenly had dozens more wounds and large amounts of blood gushed out of him as his body looked like it had convulsed. His eyes were blank but Yoko wasn't done there, she waited until Yoshino landed and kicked him towards Kazuki.

"Fly!"

Kazuki used the the blunt center of his great sword accompanied by wind and like a baseball player, he sent Yoshino flying towards the ceiling.

BOOM

Yoshino passed through the two floors above them but the force from the great sword created a huge hole. The force from the blow was already canceled out by the floors and he was crashing down. But just as he was about to crash down; seemingly defeated, Yoko's pupils contracted.

"Umi, Date, create a shield of water! Kei use your flames to launch an attack upward to slow down his descent!"

Kazuki was also preparing to attack with his great sword.

But Umi and Date who were on the verge of celebrating were a step too slow.

"[Rising Dragon]!"

Kei slashed upwards and a flame dragon rose from the floor and flew towards Yoshino.

But even with the time bought by the flame dragon, Yoshino still managed to pass through a tiny gap in the water shield.

"...You said that I acted all high and mighty on borrowed power, right?"

Yoshino stood up and had his head tilted downwards, nobody could see his eyes from the angle.

"I may just be borrowing power but unlike you who has no power, I can kill you. Confidence is different from arrogance, I can crush you all like flies."

"Everyone, stand back! He's been corrupted!"

Yoshino raised his head revealing black eyes and red pupils. It was a state of intoxication from demon miasma.
