Thud
Kai's left arm fell down with a thud.
"Kai!"
Yoko's eyes widened and her pupils contracted, while she was being dragged off, she saw Kai's arm fall down.
"Die."
Mikado attacked again immediately after, this time he was aiming for Kai's neck. But Kai twisted his body so that the sword wouldn't hit his neck.
"I can't let you kill my body but do as much damage as you like!"
Kai laughed and aimed a kick for Mikado's chest. Mikado grunted and staggered backwards by several steps.
His power... it's increasing even further! And that wound of his has already stopped bleeding!
Mikado leaped forward once more at blinding speed and slashed down at Kai from in front. But when Kai was about to block, Mikado vanished and appeared behind him.
CLANG
Mikado furrowed his brows and leapt backwards. Kai's sword was positioned behind him.
How did he manage to correct his posture in a split second?!
But he had no time to analyze Kai, Kai disappeared from his position and appeared right next to him.
Crap!
Kai slashed down and Mikado's block couldn't completely protect him. His left shoulder was bleeding because Kai's sword had hacked into it.
There's no mistake... he's getting stronger!
"Hmm? I had hoped to sever your entire left arm like you did to me but I guess I still need to put in a bit more power."
As Kai said that, he immediately raised his sword for another slash.
Mikado's shoulder injury slowed down his movement but he managed to roll away in time.
"I'll take care of you later, demon!"
Mikado retreated and helped drag Juro and the others to the back of the clan.
Kai looked at his severed arm.
"It's a shame about not being able to use my other arm but I guess it will prove a good handicap."
It hurts.
"Hah? It's you again? Didn't I already send you to sleep?"
It hurts.
"So annoying. I know I need your negative emotions but you don't have to speak to me."
"Ugh..."
"Patriarch!"
(A/N: I finally found the word I was looking for since chapter 2... I kept reading it everywhere but I kept forgetting to write it here. Anyway from now on, for each clan's male head I'll write patriarch. I'll probably change all of the chapters to patriarch soon since there aren't many that say patriarch.)
"I'm fine, get these four to the mansion and place them near the gates, I'll have to use them again for later."

Several of the people nodded and carried the four. Yoko's gag had already been placed back but she kept struggling.
Several medics went to the patriarch to treat him.
(A/N: I just realized that I accidentally used 'healing magic' instead of 'recovery magic' in past chapters. I'll get to fixing it along with patriarch. They both exist but are different.)
They wrapped the wound in a bandage.
"Everyone, his skills are half-baked but the power he holds is no joke. All of you, join your mana together and cast a single spell, I'll aid you. He'll arrive soon."
The mages nodded and prepared to cast a spell.
A combination spell is difficult to do but simply adding your mana to an attack made by one person was easy when using chants.
"Archers, remember to imbue mana in your arrows, use it to the limit!"
Kai was walking towards the line with a single arm.
Everyone who saw his face gulped. Nobody even thought about his arm.
"Archers, fire!"
A hundred or so arrows fired down. They couldn't care about the damage done to the clan.
Kai was walking slowly while dragging the sword. Just when the arrows were about to drop from their altitude, Kai swung his sword.
A huge gust of wind accompanied his swing and redirected all the arrows to the side.
"Mages, fire!"
A single attack, it wasn't [Shadow Ball], it was more like [Fireball] but made of darkness and not hot.
It moved slow and the edges were like blazing particles, it was launched from below like a catapult.
"Hmm... Even for this body, if I try and block something like that without defense, this vessel would die. There's no helping it, I'll just destroy it."
The area around Kai began shaking and the sword snarled.
"Disappear."
Kai swung his sword vertically and a wave of fire accompanied it. Then, Kai swung horizontally and a wave of water. Another swing, wind then Kai stabbed his sword into the floor and the earth rose to form a wall.
The flame dispersed once it hit the attack but the attack's power visibly lessened. The water and wind followed suit and the attack exploded. The earth shattered from the explosion but Kai was safe.
"He can really control more than two elements!"
Mikado clicked his tongue and began shouting.
"Everyone, he may be strong but his mana reserves are not infinite! If we can just drain his mana, we'd be able to attack him!"

The same went for the mages, everyone knew that but did not let those words of his go to waste. From now on, this was a battle where whoever loses mana first dies.
The soldiers stationed at this part was stronger than the gates but it wasn't by much. The only way they could win against Kai is for them to drain his mana, even a single spell's worth of mana is enough.
"Fire!"
This time, the archers and the mages collaborated.
"You should realize that this is pointless, human scum!"
Kai's sword and aura surged.
"Take thi-!"
The demon's vision blurred and his brain pulsed.
"Damn it! How are you taking control?!"
Kai's left eye started bleeding.
"Stop, you idiot! Your body will get destroyed, just let me destroy them!"
I won't let you!
(A/N: From this point, Kai and the demon are now separated in naming.)
The attack was nearing, the demon had to focus on blocking it rather than subduing Kai.
The demon used a lot more mana and power than last time and completely destroyed the attackS but at the cost of Kai taking a bit of control.
"You've managed to control a fourth of your body after that small time! Such a tenacious will!"
I won't let you... hurt them!
"Listen here, your friends and family aren't there, they're still at the back! Just let me destroy them... already!"
When the last word from the demon was said, a tremendous aura burst out from him.
AHHHHHHHHHHHHH!
Kai screamed in pain.
I managed to take back the left leg that he had taken back once more but I better avoid contact with his family and friends, it'll only make his control increase. I should be able to strengthen the control once I kill these people in front of me.
The demon closed the bleeding left eye and began running towards the defense line.
"Die for me, humans!"
Ten minutes later, third defense line.
"Head elder!"
The head elder stood there, instructing orders until one of the men was panting.
"What is it? Aren't you stationed at the second defense line?"
"Yes! I'm here as a scout for the patriarch!"
"What happened?"
The head elder furrowed his brows.
"The second defense line has... fallen."
Everyone in the surroundings who heard that fell into chaos. The head elder was speechless for a few seconds.
"What about the patriarch?!"
"He's fine! He's retreating with a few of the soldiers but the second line has officially fallen!"
"Oi, how did he do that?!"
"Isn't he just a boy?!"
"I saw him take on the head elder's attacks before but to think he had that much power!"
The surrounding people began talking with each other.
"Shut up! Everyone, continue your preparations! If we fall, all the people in the clan will fall with us!"
Everyone twitched and restarted their tasks. They created a makeshift barricade and there were even ballistae for rocks.
They were very identical to the ones from Earth. If one were to look at both of each model once, they would say that it was the same.
A few more minutes and Mikado finally arrived.
"Patriarch! What happened to the defense line- no, wait your arm!"
Mikado's arm was bandaged and the head elder only noticed after looking at him for a bit.
"I'm fine but that boy will probably arrive in less than half an hour! Finish your preparations and give me those four!"
Yoko who heard that twitched and tried shouting in protest but the gag in her mouth prevented that. Akane had awoken but everything was still hazy for her. Juro and Akemi were glaring at Mikado.
A bit more time...!
Juro was focusing so intently that he couldn't make a fuss when he was being dragged by some of the people towards Mikado.
"I know that holding you hostages wouldn't do anything to that boy who's possessed but if I can at least get his consciousness back for a split second, I can strike to kill."
Yoko began raising more of a fuss and would certainly kick Mikado if her legs were free.
Akane figured out what happened and was trying to speak.
"It appears that this one is also awake."
I should remove the gags to make them convince that boy.
"You will talk with that boy to try and make him come back and I will kill him, got it?"
Mikado intimated Akane but she shook her head as much as she could.
"Patriarch!"
One of the people who were trying to upgrade the barricade called out to him.
"What is it?"
Mikado removed his sight from the four and looked at the man.
"He's here!"
