Right now, the clan was ready for war. A lone figure stood outside the gate of the clan and thousands of people stood on the opposite side. The total number of people in the Kuroshi Clan number around ten thousand but most of those are non-combatants. The number of people who can fight normally is about a third of that number.

The Kuroshi Clan couldn't evacuate anyone, anyone who tried to go through the walls were mauled by demonic beasts. Demonic beasts are beasts corrupted by demons and chaos, they hold several times more power than a normal beast but lack a proper mind.

"Is this it? This clan is worse than I imagined. HAHAHAHA!"

The lone figure in a red cloak laughed in a maniacal tone. It was the demon inside Kai's body.

The clan's soldiers were shocked at what they were seeing. Darkness, flames, water, wind, and earth were rampaging around Kai.

(A/N: I'm going to use Kai instead of demon from here. It'll change later on again because of other reasons.)

"H-he's controlling five of the elements!"

"How?!"

"Don't panic, everyone go into your battle positions!"

There were hundreds upon hundreds of figures using shields. The clan had wide roads but it wasn't enough to hold all of them. Every non-combatant in the clan was placed at the very back of the clan at the patriarch's mansion.

"Ah, I know how to make you all even more afraid."

Kai stepped forward and placed a hand on his mask. The ones who held shields also had a spear on the other hand and they pointed it at Kai.

Kai slowly removed his mask and revealed an evil smile that sent chills down the spine of everyone who looked at it.

A demon's true terror would be experienced if one felt the malice they were releasing directly instead of behind a mask.

"Mages, fire!"

Hundreds of mages began chanting spells.

Kai simply stepped forward once more and looked at the hundreds of darkness attacks. [Shadow Ball], [Dark Beam], and [Shadow Arrow] took up the majority.

Kai held out his hand and a sword formed itself. It was a sword with a pitch-black blade and red markings. There were skull designs on the edges of the hilt and on the bottom of the grip. It also had a pitch-black aura of death visible around the sword.

Kai simply stabbed the sword into the floor and each attack that had arrived exploded before it reached the area around Kai.

"So weak."

Kai removed the sword from the floor and slashed horizontally. A huge sword wave followed Kai's slash and destroyed the gate and several rows of shields were sliced in half along with the people.

The soldiers began screaming in terror but didn't let their guard down. There were only a dozen or so rows of shields but if they were to panic, everyone else behind them wouldn't stand a chance.

"Blood, precious blood. HAHAHAHA!"

Kai placed a palm on his face which only revealed his two eyes and cheek. His maniacal laughter was a sound that would terrorize them all.

Everyone knew that Kai was the one behind the red cloak and mask, Mikado had informed all of them beforehand. They weren't shocked when they saw him but the expression on his face was unlike at all what they've heard.

"More, more, more!"

Kai laughed and ran towards the soldiers.

"Haaaa!"

The shield users roared and stepped over their fallen comrades to meet Kai.

"HAHAHAHA!"

Kai slashed vertically and it pierced a hole into their formation. Three columns were damaged from that attack.

Then, Kai spun around once and began running forward once more. Everyone around him stopped moving and the ones at the back were confused but it was all answered afterwards. Blood spurted out in large amounts and everyone that was around Kai's previous position was cut in half. The buildings near them weren't spared either.

"MORE, MORE, MORE!"

Kai slashed left and right, his cloak that was the color of blood-red was stained in real blood.

"Mages, fire again!"

But the mages hesitated.

"But our vanguard...!"

"If he gets pass the vanguard, everyone else will die! We'll apologize and mourn for the dead after that boy is killed!"

The mages gulped and followed his orders. They used twice the amount of power. The archers also joined them and shot as much arrows as they could. The sky was full of magic and arrows. But for Kai and the demon, this was child's play.

Kai didn't block at all and let the magic and arrows hit him. One or two might not make a difference but hundreds upon hundreds would certainly do damage. And it did, Kai's left arm was bleeding.

"HAHAHAHAHAHA!"

The demon raised his sword and slashed down, a flame wave accompanied the slash and burned many to death. Their screams lower the morale of the troops but if they didn't win, they'd face complete annihilation. That's the only reason why they're still standing up to Kai.

Then finally, elders joined the scene. They all wore the same robes and attacked Kai with a [Dark Beam] larger than the norm. It was the combined effort of ten elders.

Instead of dodging or blocking, Kai took it head on.

"HAAAAAA!"

Kai slashed vertically, horizontally, then diagonally twice. The attack dispersed but not all of it was cut apart, Kai still took a lot of damage to his left arm that he had used to block.

"Humans, be my offering of blood!"

Kai's aura swelled and killed several people near him. Kai pointed the sword in front of him.

"[Rend]!"

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM

Kai's sword killed the ten elders that launched the attack from behind the vanguard and along it with, everyone else in the vanguard. Now, the main attack force was defenseless.

It was literally raining blood because of Kai. His cloak became stained in actual blood. His face was dripping from the blood of his enemies, it made the soldiers fear Kai even more.

It wasn't long that Kai eliminated all of them. Kai in his regular power would be enough to eliminate them all but a demon had also possessed him which allowed his body to not care about the stress it places on him.

Kai slaughtered each and everyone that had been on the first line of defense at the gate. The second line and the last line had less people but were stronger than the first line. But before Kai could head to the second line of defense, Mikado appeared along with a few figures in chains and gags and the head elder.

"Choose, surrender or the deaths of your family and friends."

Mikado pointed a sword at Juro the sword has a dark gray blade, black hilt and grip. The hilt had a red symbol in the middle.

"Family? You can torture them and kill them in front of me for all I care."

Juro and Akemi furrowed their brows. They knew it wasn't Kai because they themselves were affiliated with demons. But Yoko was different, she was trembling. Akane was unconscious, it appears she had resisted.

Mikado took removed Yoko's gag.

"Kai, what are you saying?! Don't you care about your family?!"

Yoko's emotions were in turmoil, this didn't sound like the Kai she was talking to. The Kai she talked to cared about his family and friends, he rampaged around the patriarch's mansion to retrieve Akane, and left his home to stop himself from going out of control.

"Family and friends are unnecessary, they will only burden my slaughter. Die."

Kai raised his sword and a dark wave followed it, it was heading for Mikado and the rest.

Mikado 'hmph'd' and dispersed Kai's attack by sweeping his arm.

"So that duke gave you some power, huh?"

Kai had seen the duke's power before, the demon saw through some of Kai's memories and had a rough estimate to how strong the duke actually was.

As I thought, a demon has possessed his body.

Mikado observed Kai's movements, the malice he was releasing was no small amount.

"Kai, please stop!"

"Shut up, scum."

Kai's eyes narrowed as he glared at Yoko.

"It appears that taking hostages won't work on you. Then, I'll just kill you myself."

Mikado stepped down.

"Head elder, retreat with those people. You have no chance against him."

The head elder hesitated before nodding, he prepared to retreat but Kai had no intentions of letting them do that. He slashed with his sword towards them again but Mikado stopped it.

"Annoying bug, you die first!"

Kai leaped towards Mikado and slashed down. Mikado was preparing to block the sword.

"A cursed sword? It appears you're no simple demon."

Mikado met the sword, just when their swords clashed, both of them staggered but Mikado instantly fixed his footing and twisted his body to strike Kai's left flank. He saw that Kai's left arm was bleeding.

But the earth coated itself around Kai's arm and defended him from the attack.

"Die."

Kai kicked up and a wave of water that was sharper than blades charged towards Mikado.

"Naive."

Mikado vanished under Kai's shadow and slashed down.

Kai's left shoulder and arm were severed from his body.
