"HAAAAAA!"

Kai slashed out with Superbia but one of the figures blocked him with a long rectangular shield and the figure behind it stabbed out with a spear.

Kai blocked it with his [Ice Blade] but the moment he blocked, another figure stabbed out with his spear. Kai retracted Superbia to block it as well.

Of course, that was a mistake. The figure holding the shield charged forward and rammed Kai.

"Gah!"

Kai forcefully spat out some saliva and coughed repeatedly.

"That amount of power... no mistake. It's the same as mine."

Kai had a rough estimate of his own power, all the figures had the same as him. But one thing is disadvantageous, Kai has limited stamina even though he has a lot. But these figures aren't human, they won't lose stamina at all. Kai has to end it early otherwise he'd lose.

It's one thing if he loses this without consequences but if he loses, he won't be able to gain the next element. Water compliments his ice attribute, if Kai could get the enemy wet, he can freeze them effectively and with less effort.

"[Shadow Ball]."

Kai fired a single [Shadow Ball] at the shield and ran directly behind it.

BOOM

The [Shadow Ball] forced the wielder of the shield to go back a few steps and Kai used that to his advantage. Kai used the shield as leverage and somersaulted behind the army.

"...You're all my prey now."

Kai had a huge grin on his face.

"[Compact Ice Shield]."

Kai summoned a shield on his left arm that wielded the [Ice Blade] and charged forward towards the mages and archer figures.

Of course, the figures responded immediately. The mages leaped backwards and began casting a spell while the archers immediately fired off their bows. The ones who wielded a shield and the spearmen were still in the front but there were ones who wielded axes near the archers and charged towards Kai.

"HAAAA!"

Kai roared as a figure holding a huge axe leaped above and tried to strike Kai from overhead but Kai hit the side of the axe with his shield of ice and lightened Superbia to position it below the neck of the figure and then weightened it, the result was that, the figure's neck was sliced flawlessly. The figure that was in the air fell down with a separated neck but Kai had no time to look back as arrows arrived.

Kai used his ice shield to block the incoming arrows but his arm couldn't take the force of the arrows and his arm was forcibly raised up.

Kai's perception training allowed him to follow the arrow's flight path without trouble and managed to slice it in half with Superbia. There were only three archers and five mages.

The mages aimed their palm at Kai and spells shot out. It was [Fireball], [Holy Ball], and [Earth Spikes]. And behind those mages, the two mages who were left made a magic circle below Kai and a huge pillar of light appeared above Kai.

"Tch. No spell chants and fast as well. I'd say this pillar of light is the [Judgment] I've heard so much about."

Kai would summon an [Ice Wall] but a [Fireball] on the same level as Kai's power would melt it and the other attacks would reach him.

"I guess I have to use that. But this is only the first wave, I'll run out of stamina and mana before I win."

Kai looked at the attacks and the magic circle below him, they would all arive before he'd have time to dodge. And if he did dodge, the other figures were already surrounding him, he had no choice but to take it head on and retaliate.

"[Armor of the Frost Giants], [Ice Wall]!"

Ice quickly formed above Kai's body and it transformed into samurai armor. But he had made a little addition to the front, it was now covered in a different-colored ice. Spiked ice was also formed on parts of the armor like the shoulder blades and horns were on his head.

Walls of ice suddenly raised from the floor and covered Kai in a circular formation.

BOOM CRACK CRACK CRACK

The [Ice Wall] that formed above Kai was shattering at a rapid pace, but the [Ice Wall] on the sides stood tall. The flames had not affected it much but the outer layer had surely melted. Kira's golden flames were hot but he had no experience in using them and the flame was much weaker than it should have been. The other elements were of little use against Kai's ice.

But these figures needed no training, they weren't even alive. Coupled with Kai's power, they are killing machines. Even so, Kai was special. The ice that he uses were several times colder and stronger than normal ice, simple magic flame wouldn't be able to destroy it all.

But those two [Judgments] were a force to be reckoned with, it was one of the top-tier attacks in the light element. Kai had read this before seeing as light was a counter to his darkness and vice versa.

Kai roared and reassembled his [Ice Wall]. The [Judgment] had finally ran out of juice.

"And now, my newest technique! [Ice Fortress]!"

The newly repaired [Ice Walls] began to rapidly change and formed a huge wall, the top had a tower with a single window and the sides of the fortress had spikes. There was a single large door hanging by an ice chain in the middle. It was a mini-fortress made of ice.

It was a medieval-style fortress.

"Now..."

Kai jumped up the stairs and headed straight for the open window.

"[Shadow Ball]!"

Kai launched multiple [Shadow Balls] at the mages but they were blocked by the figures who wielded the shields.

"Not going to work anymore! [Dark Railgun]!"

The [Dark Railgun] pierced through the shield and stabbed straight through two enemies.

"Hooh..."

The old man figure leaked out word of praise as he looked at Kai.

"Fast, unbelievably fast. He made split-second decisions despite lacking experience in actual combat with the same level. And that spell of his, [Ice Fortress] as I've heard, is very... unique. I haven't heard of anyone using ice to manipulate it that way. Most people decide to freeze and defend but this is different, it's a whole base."

One of the figures on the side appraised Kai. This conversation was unknown to Kai as to not disturb him.

"I guess this is one of his advantages of being born in a different world filled with limitless imagination."

Back at the stage, Kai had taken out all the ones who wielded shields, which was five. He had also taken out the three archers and three axe-wielders and in total, ten. There were only half the amount of enemies left but Kai had not defeated any mages and spearmen.

Kai's fortress was standing tall but had a few broken parts here and there. Kai used his attacks from up above and got the best of the enemies' positions.

But Kai was in a deadlock, each spell he used was blocked by the mages and if he tried to get close, the spearmen would intercept him. That's why Kai stayed above the tower. Five spearmen of Kai's level was difficult to match alone.

Of course, if Kai fought without reservations, the spearmen and mages would be simple fodder. But Kai had to fight with the intention of preserving his strength for ten waves. Kai could simply regain his stamina and health by using his recovery spells but that won't help him preserve his mana.

"I guess I have to waste a large amount of mana to end this battle all at once."

Kai leaped from the fortress and leaped behind the enemies. The spearmen quickly fixed their formation to match Kai and the mages immediately began casting a spell.

"I would normally praise my enemies for pushing me this far but unfortunately, you guys aren't even alive."

Kai glanced at the seat on the highest point.

"I'll show you a spell worthy of defeating ten of me at once."

Kai had a smirk on his face as the spells arrived. But before the spells could land, Kai's armor suddenly cracked and fell down on the floor. Kai leaned his head down, enough to cover his eyes and everything suddenly fell into complete silence. The sound from the spells, the falling armor, and even the voices.

Kai looked up with eyes of that of a devil's; his eyes were outlined in black and had a pitch black pupil surrounded by a deep violet color. But strangely, Kai's eyes were moving, the colors were vibrant as if they were made of water flowing into the pupil. And at exactly that moment, aura suddenly erupted from Kai. It was so thick that it was visible, there was a chaotic black aura glowing around Kai, it was black but you could see through it and faintly see Kai's body.

The spells landed and dust scattered all around, when the dust dispersed; Kai stood still with the black aura still as strong as ever.

"What is this?"

One of the Gods from the side of the arena exclaimed.

"HAAAAAAA!"

Kai roared and the black aura shot up to the sky. Superbia appeared in Kai's hands as the black aura suddenly faded into the sword.

"HOWL, [ABYSSAL WOLF]!"

Kai sliced from overhead with Superbia and accompanying that slash was pure dark energy. It was shaped in the head of a wolf, it was so terrifying that any human without sufficient preparation and soul power would definitely lose their consciousness immediately if this attack was heading towards them.

But these opponents weren't human, they will calmly meet the attack and use the appropriate methods to disperse of it... or so it should go. But the opponents weren't moving at all, and if you looked closely, they were trembling.

"My figures are... scared?"

One of the Goddesses from the side of the arena had a shocked tone.

BOOOOOOOOOOOM

The attack swallowed the figures and exploded outwards before imploding and disappearing. But just before disappearing, the eyes of the wolf stared into the sky and howled.

The arena was in complete silence. Even the God on top of the throne was speechless.

"...This is one frightening youngster, to actually harness the elements directly. Magic uses the astral body to turn the elements into mana but this youngster skipped that step and harnessed it directly. It was but a fraction of the elements but that was... a feat that can't be done by any human. And the fact that this human is only... E-class if I remember correctly. I may believe it if he had reached the realm above S-class but he's not even near the doorstep. But that power he used was A-class at the very least."

Kai was panting heavily and held himself up using Superbia.

That took a lot more power than I thought. I imagined it would take twenty percent of my magic reserves but it had taken all of it and then some. Looks like I shouldn't use that technique unless my life depended on it. And now, I'm screwed.

Kai had no mana but his body wasn't too exhausted. He managed to hold on to his consciousness and could run at the very least. But his body certainly can't fight any more of those figures.

"...I would give you time to rest before continuing but that power you showed proved to be more than enough to pass this test. You will be exempted from the rest of the nine waves, this wasn't the original test anyway. We just wanted to see the amount of power your body can produce. You are now accepted by the element of water and your affinity with it is several times stronger than that of others."

Before Kai could respond, he vanished.

Just as he vanished, the faint silhouettes in the arena suddenly materialized.

"That was the best talent I've seen in over a thousand years, he may just be the next in line to the 'Lightning Flash' and the 'Holy Paladin'."

One of the Gods told the God who sat above the rest.

"I think you're underestimating him, I think he may even be on the level of the 'Chaos Emperor' in the future."

These were titles of the strongest humans in history, they had all reached the realm above S-class and had half a step into the realm of the Gods but unfortunately never made it.

The Goddess of Frost snorted.

"I think you're underestimating him too much, or is it because of fear? He managed to harness the elements despite having a weaker body and mana reserves than the minimum. That would be suicide, yet he managed to do it and spare some of his power. He'd be on the level of the King of Gods at the very least or maybe even pass him and reach the realm of Supreme Beings. I believe that medallion is rightly achieved."

Many Gods and Goddesses complained against her.

"Just because he's your grandson doesn't mean that you can give him a biased opinion."

"We are all beings above mortals, a simple human isn't worth mentioning."

"Silence!"

The God who was on the top seat.

"K-King, we apologize! It's just that we cannot accept such biased opinions."

The King of Gods held his nose bridge.

"You lot are idiots. The Goddess of Frost is correct, he will certainly be on the same level as me or even higher in the future if he is to continue growing. He will certainly take the title of 'Chaos Emperor' or even the God and Devil of Darkness. That boy has limitless potential, but I felt something strange from his body. I believe that I had sensed that energy before, it was from the Supreme Being who had the power to manipulate souls and reincarnation. It's as if that boy's body is blessed by him."

The King of Gods held his chin and pondered in thought. He quickly dispersed the other Gods save for the Goddess of Frost.

"That boy, what did you learn from him?"

The King of Gods asked the Goddess of Frost.

"He's part of the prophecy."

The King of Gods' eyes opened wide.

"I see, I wasn't mistaken at all. So that boy is the key to that event. The Supreme Being of reincarnation's retaliation against the Omnipotent Being."

The Goddess of Frost nodded.

"Tell this to no one. We mustn't let word of this get out. Especially not to any of the Supreme Beings."

The Goddess of Frost bowed then disappeared.

"This boy is truly interesting!"

The King of Gods had a huge grin on his face.
