《The Order of Sekhmet》Pilgrimage: The captive

I honestly don’t know how I managed, but I actually did it. Every night I grabbed my stuffed hen, reached through an open seam and took out a small vial with a concoction my mother had brewed for me. I swallowed a few drops before tucking it back into the hen and going to sleep.
At first, I didn’t notice anything special, and I began thinking my mother just went a little crazy there. But then I noticed small differences. All the kids began having these vacant stares. As if they were no longer in their own bodies. When they fell and hurt themselves, they would just get up without flinching, without crying. The range of emotions declined over the months. And it scared me. I tried the best I could to pretend to be like them.
But there were times where it hurt. Like the one time when Lilly stumbled and lost her grip while ascending one of the many wooden ladders. She was already almost at the top when she fell to the depths below. There was a loud thud with a cracking noise. My heart stopped and I didn't dare to peek. I thought she had cracked her skull and was lying in a pool of her blood. When I mustered the courage to look, she seemed lucky. Her legs were twisted unnaturally, suggesting they were broken. Yet she got up without a sound, smiling at me with those empty eyes. Slowly, she crawled up the ladder, dragging her leg behind her as if it wasn’t needed at all.
Fuck. That was really scary. Instead of joining her towards the dormitories, I turned the other way, clutching my bag and running as far as I could from the scene. What was going on? Why did my friends become like this? In my heart, the answer was already there: There was some kind of medicine mixed into the food, into the drinks that made them complacent. And because of my stuffed hen, my mind hadn’t turned into mashed peas.

By the time I realized where I was, it was basically too late. I had just entered the main temple. Yes, the huge howling cavity. Strangely enough, the wind fell silent the moment I entered. Instead, the cave was filled with faint whispers and chanting of children. Intrigued, I walked deeper into the cave. Where there more children here? Or were some of us already praying in front of the alleged Sekhmet statue?
The temple was very badly lit. I practically stumbled through the maze inside, guided by the voices of the children. The corridors were small and seemed to have been cut out hurriedly. If Reed had been with me, he’d probably have already stumbled himself into unconsciousness.
Suddenly, I could hear water trickling from afar. The voices seemed to have gotten louder as well. Even though I was scared, I decided to continue following the noises. Finally, I reached a large hall. And with large I mean huge. The ceiling was so high it was completely shrouded in darkness. I could only see the opposite walls because of the soft blue light the magical torches were emitting.
In this dimly lit hall, I finally saw a small stream running through the center. It wasn’t very wide, just a small hop was enough to cross it. On the other side, where most of the torches were hanging, stood an oversized statue of a female deity. It was so tall that her head faded into the darkness. Her arms were wrapped around her body as if she was hugging herself. I guessed that this was the goddess of war. I approached the statue carefully. But in doing so, the voices grew louder and louder, almost unbearable. I covered my ears, looking around confused. Where was everybody? Why did I hear these voices, but nobody was to be seen? As I stood right in front of the stream, I noticed the water was particularly dark and seemed thick. No wonder it kept making weird gurgling sounds. I also saw that left of the statue was another corridor leading away from this room. With nothing to lose, I jumped over the stream and took a closer look at the statue.

Without any warning, the voices stopped. Irritated, I looked around. Not even the stream could be heard. It was as if the world had gone silent. As I stood before the statue, I boldly touched the stone. Of course, nothing happened. What was I expecting? That she would turn to flesh and eat me? Scoffing at my childish expectations, I decided to check out the corridor behind the statue. It was completely dark. Yet I felt something. It was faint, but it felt as if something was leading me on, telling me where to go, which bend to take. Even though I could not see a thing, the strange sensation felt so reassuring that I began walking confidently through the darkness.
And, after a long while, I reached another cavern. This was a particularly small cavern, a few magical torches were enough to illuminate it completely. And, to my horror, I saw that I was not alone.
Chained to the walls was a woman. Her long hair was unkempt and covered most of her face. The clothes she wore were nothing but rags, ravaged by time itself. I couldn’t even make out the color they originally were. The woman was on her knees and didn’t move when I stumbled in. I feared she was dead when suddenly, the chains moved. I shrieked quietly. Slowly, she raised her head. Like curtains, her hair parted, revealing a beautiful but weary face. Finally, she opened her eyes. They were crimson red, burning fiercely.

The Crucible - (Terror Infinity Fanfic)
There has always been those that stood out from the crowd. Heroes of old, undefeated warriors and demigods battling beasts of myth. These stories are written off as fiction and folk stories of ignorant people long lost to time. Nothing to prove them true except old family stories but what if people just weren't looking in the right place. Old truths no longer apply to the modern age of science but that doesn't stop them. The system that protects and finds these great people still exists and asks the same question it always has. “Do you want more than this life? Want to live… a real life?” YES/NO Who hasn't read Terror Infinity and thought I wonder what upgrades I would choose. I love the Web Novel and Side B. I did change a lot but the basic premise is still the same. Feel free to leave thoughts and suggestions in the comments. This is my first attempt at writing and I haven't done much of it since I left University 13 years ago. This is also more of a hobby than trying to become an author but that doesn't mean I will drop it just don't expect fast releases. I will mainly work on an Arc and post the arc's chapters in groups when I finish a whole arc. Kinda like Side B used to be.

Aytelia
A magical world embracing chaos as powerful entities and worlds fight for survival or power, observed by the "universals", a sentient species no one can fathom or reason with. Their knowledge, comparable to the vast amounts of years they have existed for and their power feared by even some Gods, capable of destroying and creating entire universes, Aytelia being their proudest creation. Amongst all these the name of one of them is profound even amongst them, both feared and respected - Righteousness. As a lone girl wakes up in a large strange fountain, filled with other individuals in the same position such as herself, she lifts her drowsy head to find her surreal surroundings. The civilians walking around said fountain are all weird creatures that could only come out of a fantasy - orcs, elves, dwarfs, dragonewts, all wearing all different kinds of medieval armor, weaponry and artifacts. What will happen to her in this world? Will she be able to find a place in it and will the mysteries behind her current circumstances be revealed? Why is she so different than those around her? Warning: Character is extremelly OP and the lore behind it doesn't get covered till chapter 14. Updates once a week. First time posting my writing on the internet so feedback would be appreciated.

Dauntless: Origins
Snow white hair, blue eyes, pale. Devil, monster, mutt, failure. This story follows one Tyr Faeron, crown prince, heir primus and mass murderer. A wrathful, angry, and lost young man that has made it his goal to hunt down the men that killed his mother - and he is on the cusp of finishing the promise he'd made before her cairn stones so many years ago. On the surface he is duplicitous, whimsical, and base of cunning - but within the depths beyond the many masks he wears, something is waiting. Waiting for an end, the end he'd come to long for, whether it be to himself or any possible threats in his vicinity. After that long labor of vengeance is completed... Nobody knows, not even him - an arrogant and otherwise solitary individual with nothing in the way of friends - only the brothers of the blackguard who follow him through life as he pursues this mission. He was born a prince, but he'd be called a disappointment - failing to manifest the great power that he was born to before being summarily discarded by his father, a 250 year old 'primus'. That word again... Men who can shatter mountains and level cities, that's what he was supposed to be. Some call them demi-gods, all Tyr sees is a poor excuse for a parent. Time had made him bitter, cruel, and arguably psychotic - seeing only enemies wherever he looks. They'd come for him, too, one day - to wipe the slate clean and make room for another - and it's his conviction to ensure that he dies while taking as many of those rats with him. This is a story about finding acceptance, growth, and understanding - from the point of view of a cold and brutal individual who wears many masks. Of someone who was born to be the greatest emperor the eastern continent has ever seen - but he failed in that. Strong, yes, but only in the context of a man - Tyr's magic is weak. His convictions are weak. He has been made a beast of instinct by loss and a constant confronting of his own impotency in the face of his father. A mythos that stretches across planes, of magic, a pantheon of cruel gods. Of someone who's dedicated his entire mind to the art of killing a man, and none to living a normal childhood or coming to understand friendship, empathy, or compassion. The first five years of his life a mystery, a hole none have ever been willing to fill, leaving him warped and twisted. His formative years gone and what must've been most of his humanity along with it. Now 17, he is on the cusp of leaving the city he'd never been permitted to leave for what might be the first time in his life. Always searching, though he won't know what for, for some time. An episodic that follows experience and symbolism rather than a never ending series of battles - where the conflict lay in constantly searching for wholeness in lieu of great villains or heroes. This is where it all started, the origin, the tale told a million times - and yet it hadn't been, 'reality' is tricky like that. The greatest lie ever told by the tongue that speaks is that any of this was real at all.
