Misty Mountain

At nightfall one kilometre away from the field of battle, Rome's sentries can be seen carrying torches as they vigilantly patrol around the camp to prevent any more unexpected creatures attacking them, the rest of the soldiers goes inside their tents falling down on their backs as they snored away their fatigue and worries and rest after a day of fighting unfamiliar creatures, but while they rest at the center of the legions camp a large tent with praetorian guards surrounding it are having a discussion.

Thorin and his company along with officers of Rome's legion gather inside the commander's tent as they discussed their situation.

---------------------------------

Tiberius POV

"They should be executed for luring them to us!"

"Those orcs will return with a larger force!, we need to tie them up and give them to those orcs!"

"No they are our friends! they fought bravely along with our legions! we can not harm them or Mars will smite us in his fury!" Garen speaks up inside the tent.

"The battle was a pyrrhic victory!, We lost a legion!, We have one remaining legion left!, If not for those great eagles saving us we could have lost!"

I watch my officers argue as Thorin and his company also silently watch the argument. The fear of orcs coming back with a larger force brought fear to my centurions, who can blame them, watching those horde of goblins and orcs riding those wargs dealt a huge blow to their confidence, while only Garen defends them as he saw their courage and skill as those dwarves fight along with the legions saving countless lives.

"SILENCE!"

They stop their argument and look to me

"I made a pact with them, Thorin is a king of dwarves and has promised to compensate our losses, we also need allies in this strange world we are in, yes we maybe not in our world anymore, that rift in the sky and flash of light did something to us."

"That light was like the stories my father once said to me." Garen speaks up

"What do you mean?" I look to him with surprised expression.

"He said before he saved the emperor from those assassins, he was an officer from a different kingdom when a flash of light blinded him while fighting a battle and sent him to a forest where he wandered as a mercenary for several months before meeting the emperor."

"Yes same story what my old man also said to me." Darius suddenly speaking up after a long silence."He said something about fighting Garen's father when that light came and was transported near the capital of rome with some of his soldiers, where he built up his reputation before joining the senate. When he heard the news of the emperor being saved by someone he was familiar with, he almost attacked him when he saw him in the palace. That's why the Noxus and Crownguard family always argue during a senate meeting."

"Why are you only just saying this to me after knowing you for a long time?" I look at him bewildered.

"Well I thought he was crazy and making up stories."

I palm my face as I hear him say that.

"That light might be Eru Ilúvatar summons"

I hear Gandalf voice: "Who?"

"Eru Ilúvatar the supreme being from which all things were created, he might have foreseen a great evil coming that will bring doom on our world and summoned you and your legions to save us from catastrophe."

"I only believe in Graeco roman gods," I stare at Gandalf

"He has many names and represents different Gods."

"I don't care about Eru what I want to know why us? I just lost half of my Legions and now were lost in this strange world!

"We will never know... " Gandalf shakes his head as he leaves the tent.
