《The Seven Demon Gods' Successor》Chapter 27-Instant Defeat

“Looks like Johann is completely enraged. He used his signature move’ Frost Storm’ as soon as the fight started.” One of the Imperial Princes of the Helios Empire said.
“It doesn't matter, he still going to miserably lose this fight,” Mikhail who was standing quietly on the side murmured to himself in a voice only he could hear.
Though Mikhail didn't want to be part of Bishop Gerald and the Emperor’s little game, he had no choice as he was also part of the Imperial Family.
Furthermore, he was also too weak to go against the Emperor’s order. As such, he could only play along and gathered around the arena as well.
As for why he was sure that the 7th Imperial Prince was going to lose, it was because he had already seen both of their stats.
Though Ramiel tried to fool the guests and the other Imperial Princes by hiding his true strength, he wasn't able to fool Mikhail because of the system.
While Johann was a 6-Star Aura Knight, the Holy Son Ramiel was a peak 7-Star Aura Knight. There's a huge difference between a 6-Star Aura Knight and a 7-Star Aura Knight.
One was the fact that a 6-Star could not use his Aura in a long-range attack except when using a magic weapon like Johann just did.
Second, In terms of physique, speed, agility, and strength, a 7-Star Aura Knight has vastly surpassed a 6-Star Aura Knight as they have opened more Aura Nodes.
Thirdly, a 7-Star Aura Knight had way more Aura energy than a 6-Star Aura Knight. Within the boundary of a 4 to 6-Star Aura Knight, a difference of one stage wouldn’t be too much.
However, when it comes to a 6-Star Aura Knight and a 7-Star Aura Knight, the difference of one stage would amount to an enormous disparity.
Even with Johann’s powerful magical Ice Sword, he could not breach that gap as it was both qualitative and quantitative.

What was even more important, Mikhail could also tell that Ramiel had more experience in battle than the pampered Johann who has never once engaged in a life and death battle.
As such, Mikhail was a hundred percent sure that Johann was going to lose miserably even before the battle started.
Sure enough, facing Johann's sudden attack. The expression of Ramiel suddenly changed as he entered into his battle mode.
The initial drowsiness and laziness in his eyes were now dispelled completely. His eyes suddenly turned cold ferocious like a monstrous and cold-blooded predator.
Boom!
In just a split second, his body that was originally not imposing at all, immediately burst with a strong and tyrannical aura like an awakened ferocious beast and the long sword in his hand shone with a bright, golden light, creating a dazzling spectacle.
“A Peak 7-Star Aura Knight!” A surprised expression appeared on the faces of many of the people present.
Swish! Swish!
With the speed that was almost impossible to follow with the naked eyes, Ramiel swung his sword twice creating a blinding golden crossed energy beam that flew toward the incoming Johan’s frost storm attack with lightning speed.
It all happened in a flash!
Bang!!
The moment the golden crossed energy beam made contact with the vicious frost storm attack, it instantly blew it away like a candle in the wind.
However, it didn't stop there. After blowing away the frost storm, the golden crossed energy beam continued onwards toward Johann like a tsunami.
Since Johann’s all-out attack was made in anger, added to the fact that he never expected his opponent to suddenly burst out with a fierce counterattack in such a short amount of time, there was no chance for him to avoid this strike.
As such, he could only face the attack head-on with his sword while creating a protective aura shield around his entire body.

However, how could the protective aura of a 6-Star Aura knight stop the attack of a 7-Star Aura Knight using a magic sword? It was like a frog trying to stop an elephant.
Smash!
In the next second, a smashing sound could be heard as the protective aura on Johann’s body was shattered like a broken mirror.
At the same time, Johann was sent flying like a bag of trash with blood gushing out his stomach and mouth.
“Bang!” His body then slammed into the fiery wall of the arena before falling into the ground, leaving behind a long streak of blood.
Seeing this scene, everyone was shocked. Many of them looked like they had just swallowed a fly. As for the Emperor, he was still calm as always.
“Johann!”
Meanwhile, the 6th Queen who was Johann’s mother couldn't help but cry out in alarm after seeing this scene.
At the same time, she ran out of her seat to the battle area and held onto Johann’s body who was still spewing blood out of his mouth.
There was also a deep and giant crossed cut on his stomach. It was a foot long, so deep that even his internal organs could be seen.
“Johann!”
“Johann, are you alright..”
Without wasting any time, she quickly took out numerous high-grade recovery potions and fed them to Johann as well pouring some of them on the giant cut on his stomach.
After a few seconds, Johan opened his eyes. His face was still white as paper. However, the giant cut on his stomach could be seen closing on itself with the naked eyes. Though the process was a little slow, he was recovering.
Everyone already knew that Johan was going to lose after realizing that Ramiel was a 7-Star Aura Knight, but no one thought that he would actually lose this fast and so miserably.
An Instant defeat… a completely unexaggerated instant defeat!!
Not only was Johann instantly defeated, he didn’t even cause the other party the slightest bit of injury, and the amount of power the other party used was also very small.
“Cough, I’m truly sorry 6th Queen your highness. I didn’t expect the 7th Imperial Prince was this weak. The Holy Son merely hit him once, and he was injured this seriously.”
“If I knew beforehand, I would have told him to only use ten percent of his strength for the fight.” Said Bishop Gerald as he stepped into the arena and with an apologetic look on his face.
His voice was extremely loud and he looked very serious as though he was truly blaming himself. However, any fool could tell that he was mocking her and the Imperial Family.
They could already tell that not only did Bishop Gerald wanted the Holy Son to beat the hell out 7th Imperial Prince, he wanted to make an example out of him.
He wanted him to lose in the most awful, miserable, ugly way possible, and step all over his dignity and pride.
He wanted everyone present to see just how weak the imperial Princes of the Helios Empire were and how mighty were the Holy Sons of the Luminas Empire.
“Also, during the competition, injuries cannot be avoided. I hope you won’t give this humble Bishop a hard time because of this, 6th Queen your Highness.” Bishop Gerald added.
Meanwhile, the 6th Queen didn’t say anything. She only gave Bishop Gerald a vicious look before she ordered the Imperial Knights present to carry Johann out of the arena as she also followed them.

The Core of a Factory
An abandoned steampunk arms factory, in the middle of a conflict torn former state of the Empire it served, gains a soul. This transforms it into a Lord, capable of turning land into power. Beset by enemies on all sides it must figure out how to win the war its creators lost a century ago. This is a progressive Dungeon Core novel (which is to say the core will progress and expand in scale, eventually) across multiple dimensions with different characteristics (e.g. steampunk, magic, mythological). It has rationalist leanings (paragraphs of reasoning) and litrpg leanings (there are stat blocks). The core game mechanical idea is something like "what if different flavors of magic power actually did come from controlling land" and then the story is: "what if there was a flavorless (artifact deck) dungeon core". Chapters will be relatively short (my aim is that in three column format each would fit on a wide screen monitor), the first few chapters - setting up the main character and mechanics - are currently the longest in the entire series. I write chapters in blocks, and then release them one a weekday (M-F; 6 PM GMT, unless RoyalRoad's publish thing screws up) until I run out. There may be a few days of gaps here and there if someone finds an egregious error I have to re-write around or if I am behind. In general though one can read this once a weekend. I may do slight retconns and edits, I'll make sure to put it in an authors note if I do.
