《The Seven Demon Gods' Successor》Chapter 16- The 7 Cardinal Sins

After creating a huge mess in Katonia City, Mikhail didn't stay long as he left the city to continue his journey to the Imperial Capital the next day.
However, this time, he wasn't accompanied by Handal as he was forced to stay in the city for a while until Supreme Commander Ivan sent some troops from the Great Helios Pass to guard and stabilize the City.
As the gathering point of almost all the most powerful hunters throughout the whole Helios Empire, Katonia was filled with dangerous people.
It was filled with crooks and people who were used to killing to get whatever they wanted. It was a place that was filled with dragons mixed with snakes.
Despite its prosperity, Katonia was also considered one of the most dangerous cities throughout the Helios Empire.
As such, it wasn't a wise idea to let such a place without supervision, and Handal’s presence in the city could guarantee peace.
The authority and the prestige of the Hyperion Imperial Family was something that no one dared to challenge in the Helios Empire.
.................................
As Handal was forced to stay in Katonia for a day or two, Mikhail only took his butler along with ten Imperial knights with him to continue his journey to the Imperial Capital.
If it was up to him, he would have only taken his butler. But unlike in the Great Helios Pass, it was prohibited for a member of the imperial family to travel without any personal knights.

“It seems like I was right. These 7 Demon Gods’ Unique Skills are indeed related to the seven capital sins or seven cardinal sins, in Roman Catholic theology.” Mikhail murmured to himself as he was looking at the 7 Demon Gods’ Unique Skills’ window with a pensive expression on his face as he sat within his carriage.

Ever since he saw the 7 Demon Gods’ Unique Skills in his skill windows, he always wondered about their origins as well as how to unseal them.
When he first saw the names of the 7 Demon Gods, he didn't recognize any of them. Even when he was on Earth, he had never heard of these names before.
However, as he was reading them over and over. He was able to decipher the meaning of some of them such as Gula that meant Gluttony, and Invidia which meant Envy due to his broken Spanish.
Furthermore, there was also Avaritia which looked similar to Avaricia which meant avarice and Greed.
Even though all the names weren't truly in Spanish, he was still able to recognize most of them due to their similarities. And with some critical thinking, it wasn't that hard for him to guess the rest of them and associated them with the 7 Cardinal Sins.
Even though Mikhail wasn't a religious person, he knew of the Seven Cardinal Sins as well as what they entailed. Each one of them represented a major moral vice and was contrasted with one of the Seven Heavenly Virtues or exemplary moral attitudes.
After knowing that the 7 Demon Gods’ Unique Skills were somewhat similar to the 7 sins in the Bible, he realized that to unseal all of them, he would need to commit each one of the 7 sins.
That idea came up to him after trying various methods to unseal them to no avail. However, he wasn't sure until he accidentally unsealed the Demon God Avaritia’s Unique Skill by looting the corpses of the Ether Church followers.
At first, he thought it was just a coincidence. But after seeing how the progress level skyrocketed after robbing Count Bertrand blind, he was now a hundred percent sure.

Avaritia or Greed was roughly defined as an excessive desire for more of something than is needed such as money and material goods.
It was the act of Scavenging and hoarding of materials or objects. It was also theft and robbery by violence etc.
As such, by killing and robbing the Ether Church flowers including Count Bertrand despite being well off and wealthy himself, Mikhail had committed one of the Seven Cardinal Sins, Avaritia.
Because of that, he was able to partially unseal the Demon God Avaritia’s Unique Skill Plunderer as he had met the requirement. However, If he wanted to completely unseal it, he would need to continue to commit more of that sin.
The same thing also happened when he had partially unsealed the Demon God Ira’s Unique Skill, Breath of the Ultimate Void Dragon.
It only unlocked after he had killed Count Bertrand and annihilated his entire family for his selfish revenge against his brother. He didn't care that many of them were innocent and had all of them slaughtered.
Nonetheless, now that Mikhail had a general idea about the 7 Demon Gods’ Unique Skills’ origin as well as to unseal to them, he became even more interested in them and couldn’t wait to unseal them.
Aside from that, Mikhail also had many questions about the 7 Demon Gods’ Unique Skills.
For instance, how was he able to acquire them? Why were they given to him?
What’re the relations between the 7 Demon Gods’ Unique Skills and the Ultimate Godly Artifact he had received as a reward for clearing the last of the 72 dungeons? Was the Ultimate Godly Artifact the system within his mind, etc?
All of these were questions that Mikhail didn't have an answer to among others. However, he didn’t dwell in them.
He knew that it was useless to do so. He believed that once he’s strong enough, he would be able to find all the answers to his questions.
“Huh, the 7 Demon Gods’ Unique Skills. Interesting! It’s going to be a hell of an adventure unsealing all of them, especially Luxuria and Gula.” Mikhail said with a mysterious smile on his face before he gently closed his eyes as he laid on the carriage's seat.
If his memories served him right, Luxuria which translated into Lust was an inordinate craving for the pleasures of the body while Gula which meant Gluttony was an inordinate desire to consume more than that which one required.

Ursus Ex Machina
Ozzy was a man of the wild. Raised in a remote village atop the world's mightiest mountain, he'd been taught to respect and revere the natural world. The realm he was born into had been there long before him, and it would remain there long after him. Sure, there was the occasional madman who threatened to destroy it, but such boasts were always empty. No one individual was actually capable of demolishing this beautiful blue-and-green ball Ozzy called home. No matter what terrible magics these villains wielded, they were incapable of causing permanent harm to the environment. Even if the planet was completely devastated, it would recover. Life would find a way to flourish, same as it always had. That was what Ozzy believed from the bottom of his heart, so he never once felt the need to save the world he loved. After all, it was never truly in danger. The world would be fine no matter what. The people were a wee bit endangered, but that was another story altogether. However, what would happen if Ozzy suddenly found himself devoid of his beloved wilds? What would the man do if the realm he knew - one of wonder, magic, and chaos - was replaced with a man-made environment of concrete, industry, and steam? Ozzy could never imagine such a thing happening, and yet that was his new reality. After losing a fateful confrontation with a mad wizard, he and his friends found themselves transported to a strange world so thoroughly alien that every waking moment feels like a fever dream. Separated and scattered to the four corners of this land, each of these adventurers will need to adapt, survive, and overcome if they hope to reunite. They would also need to do so quickly. The sooner they are able to find one another, the sooner they can figure out a way back home and have another crack at putting an end to the villain's plans. Whether such a thing was actually possible in a world with barely any magic in it was a valid concern, but Ozzy had more immediate things to worry about. For instance, why did the air smell like a perpetual forest fire? How did ships sail through the sky as if it were water? And most importantly, was the pavement he was hurtling towards at high speed much softer than it looked? Probably not, but a man could hope.

Allister Hale's Story Graveyard.
You've tried to write a story yes? So have I, Many times. I get a good vibe going, type a few pages worth of content then reach the point it gets the tiniest bit hard. Thing is, some of those stories are good, the kind of good that gets people excited and then disapointed when they cut off abruptly and without warning before fifteen chapters. So content Warning, none of theese little stories come to any kind of conclusion. A couple are just different attempts at the same idea (some with the same characters no less)They are also raw and uneddited, and no i wont be fixing them.I don't think any of them deserve any additional content warnings, as I'm not interested in writting those sorts of stories, but please read with caution.
