The human is far gone

Far away from the forest of old

Our home.

But she has been sloppy, given us breadcrumbs to follow

A stack of dead chickens there

Burn marks there

And finally

An arrow in a tree

A marking to show us we are on the right path.

We’ve been travelling far.

Bringing with us the words of the elders

It is gathering.

It’s already swelling in size.

The surrounding villages have brought with them their strongest warriors

And those to weak to fight, has been brought as cannonfodder.

This will be so amazing.

Such a thing has not happened for a hundred years.

To be able to live in a lifetime where there is a swarm

I’m beyond thrilled.

And to think I’ve been chosen

Chosen with eleven other great rats

To find the human.

Report our findings and send back words to the swarm.

Or at least, only getting smaller

Not stopping in its entirety

Well, something as trivial as this can, and will not, stop the swarm

It looks like rock

But the entirety of the land is covered in it.

As far as my eyes can see, there is only rock.

Going up and down like ripples in a puddle.

I’ve never seen something so

Why would the human come here?

Maybe she knows about the swarm

Maybe she’s here to hide?

Who knows

But she won't be lucky.

Our smartest and greatest blood mage is with us

Able to read the signs in blood

Leading us in the right direction.

Luckily for us, we managed to scrape up the blood of the human

And with it, it has led us here

Led us in the right direction.

So why would it fail now?

Even in such an alien land

A land devoid of life.

Gathering over the vast land of rock

Giving life to the lifeless

Giving it a new name

A land of rats

Blocking out the sun, thousands

Hundred of thousands

Maybe

Even millions

Oh my god.

It’s going to be such a sight

And I’m gonna be on top.

Amongst the elders

Seeing it all
