Scene 2 - God Slayers

Marley shook her head, ‘God Slayers are weapons that have killed gods! Such an amazing weapon in the hands of a child? How was he lucky enough to grab one in an armory full of lesser weapons?”

A normal weapon would've lost all the power its previous owner nurtured within it when they died, even if it was made with godly materials. But a God Slaying weapon was different! Even though it would lose most if not all of its stored energy, it would retain the divine ability of the God it had slain within an imprint. An imprint such as the tear on the top of the bow.

Yet God Slaying weapons disdained normal cultivators. When their owner dies, sometimes it wouldn't choose a new master for tens of thousands of years! Even if a cultivator found one, they might not be able to use it due to the weapon's picky nature.

Thus, many God Slaying weapons were placed within the storages of Clans, Sects, or Guilds. Some were even placed within showcases or hung on walls.

When Master Mo saw the battle blades on Saren's body his eyes shone, even though they weren't God Slaying weapons, they had at least killed a greater demon before.

If he remembered right he found those blades when he was exploring the Sectless Sect's labyrinth grounds. They had been emanating a demonic air as they lay trapped within the cold dead hands of some nameless corpse.

Seren waited with his Master for the next person to come out. Not long after Vince appeared, carrying nine seemingly weightless earth colored Francisca axes on his belt.

Master Mo nodded. All of the axes had killed a greater demon and came from the same source. They would grow as Vince did, and would eventually show terrifying might.

Sol appeared next with a simple sword streaked with orange and a jet black shield. Luna walked slightly behind him, holding a long silver spear and a shield that shone with the light of the moon.

Master Mo was stunned yet again, ‘The Sword and Shield Sol is holding are God Slaying weapons! If I remember right they used to belong to the SunMoon Clan. It was an ancestral heirloom that hadn't chosen a second wielder in over fifty thousand years The sword and shield are considered a single entity by the name of Eclipse, and can't be separated for more than one hundred meters else they lose their power.’

Luna's spear and shield may not be God Slayer weapons, but they had soaked in the blood of countless lunar demons to the point that their original bronze color was tainted with a pure white haze

After Sol and Luna came Ren, who held his sword to his chest as if he feared someone would take it from him. Xue was behind him and acting in the same manner, only she spoke sweet nothings to her great hammer as if it were her child.

They were, of course, greater demon slaying weapons which had killed a great many things. At this point, Master Mo had become accustomed to how each and every disciple obtained powerful weapons as if they were cheap candy. Afterall he couldn't always be shocked or his hair would turn white, perhaps even falling out.

A mystified Len walked up holding a massive folded up jagged white scythe that gave off a pure heroic energy in her right hand and a large leather bag containing 108 long one foot needles that gave off pure dark energy in her other.

After Len, Rune appeared carrying two slender gauntlets. One was a dazzling yellow with each finger outlined in red, and the other was pure purple with fingers outlined in blue. The yellow gauntlet has an image of a smiling mask atop it while the other possessed a sad mask.

Master Mo opened his mouth to speak and the eight instantly grew fearful, their expressions spelling out their unconfidence, ‘Were their choices not good enough? But the weapons had called out to them like whining children, it’s not their fault!’

Master Mo smiled wryly, and heard a door open. He turned towards the sound only to have his eyes roll back into his skull and turn white.

‘How is this possible?! How could she possibly wield that sword!? It weighs over one hundred thousand pounds and has never called out to anyone before! How?! It should be impossible!’

Master Mo suddenly remembered a legend so old that it had been around at least one hundred thousand years ago.

t was a story passed down by mortals for generations. According to the story, the sword descended upon the mortal plane when an angry shout from the heavens shook the whole world,“You piece of shit sword, how dare you reject me! I made you!”

The sword stuck deep into the earth, creating a crater that spanned ten miles. The locals hurriedly rushed over, descending into the crater and finding the sword at the bottom, standing tall upon a large God Beast that had been cleaved in two.

The blade had upon it a symbol of a black Demon skull, but the rest of it was pure white without a speck of dust. Even the blood on its blade slid off without leaving behind a single mark. Many a man had tried to move it with no success, and eventually, even famous figures of the time appeared and tried to move it. When everyone failed, someone rose the possibility of it being a God Slaying weapon. Unable to be moved, the blade was eventually forgotten though word of mouth kept the story alive.

Seasons passed and the huge crater filled with water, becoming a large lake. Master Mo had come across the story in his travels and moved the Sectless Sect into action. Together with the sect elders and a powerful formation, placed upon a sturdy sheath that decreased the blade's weight to ten thousand pounds, they were able to pull the monstrous blade from the bottom of the lake.

Through the passing ages, the blade hadn't been affected by the elements in the slightest, its edge still as perfectly sharp as the day it appeared. And now this ten-year-old girl was casually holding that same blade within her thin arms as if it was as light as a feather...

Master Mo's mind reeled as he pulled himself back into consciousness “Nena, my dear disciple... what is the name of that blade?”

Nena grinned a charming smile that pulled at the heartstrings of those around her, “His name is Solitude!”

Master Mo finally regained his former composure as the satisfaction of having a long-standing question answered washed over him. He had wanted to know the true name of this blade to see if the sheath's name ‘Abyss’ matched that of the one hundred thousand-year-old blade it held.

Master Mo nodded with a faint smile, “Thank you, Nena. I’ve always wondered what the name of that blade was. Now come here disciples, I have to lay a concealment spell over your weapons so that others aren't too shocked, Later on, I shall teach how to wield them well.”
