Scene 6 - A Secret to death
In a flash, three days had passed and both Vince and Rune made major improvements by increasing the purity of the elements contained within their magic cores.
They each learned a total of six spell of their respective elements and were even able to form a fourth core. In those three days both attempted to use the branded magic gifted to them by the old gods, only to find out that their level of power was simply too low to invoke even the slightest bit of their acquired magic.
The siblings exited the domes they had been in around the same time, and were greeted with the sight of their teacher Master Mo and senior apprentice sister Marley. Master Mo’s eyes gleamed with a profound light, causing his tattooed lunar eyes to seem more enchanting.
With a small smile Master Mo gave them a little nod, “Humph, good job my disciples. You did well for your first closed door training session. To even reach fourth stage core formation.... how do you two feel?”
Vince stepped forward and clasped his hands as he bowed towards his master, “I feel much stronger master, but still feel that I have a long way to go! But how are our siblings? We've been gone for three days so they must have worried.”
Rune nodded, having wondered about the same thing. Master Mo chuckled softly before responding, “Haha, as expected of my disciples! Remember that feeling, the road of enlightenment is long and full of hardships. You never know when you'll come across someone stronger than you so never get arrogant! Now go and rest, your brothers and sisters are waiting for you. Marley will lead the way, and we'll resume training tomorrow so don't even think about slacking off!”

The two reunited with their siblings in time to eat dinner, and were able to relax until it was time to sleep.
Rune and Vince slept side by side in a single bed, as they normally do. The rest of their siblings were asleep, but Rune suddenly whispered, " Hey Vince, you awake?"
There was no response. It seemed Vince had already fallen asleep.
But Rune didn't seem to care if he was awake or not. All she wanted was to get her thoughts out, “I think I remember some of my past Vince... I saw an endless field of absolutely breathtaking water lotuses! And a boy surrounded by four adults. I couldn't see his face, but something told me that I need to kill him, even if I die in the process. Weird, right? Do you think... that as we grow stronger, I'll be able to find out who I am? ...Never mind. It's a silly thought and anyways I'm the happiest when I'm with all of you. Goodnight, Brother.”
Vince on the other hand, was wide awake with a pained expression plastered across his face. He didn't care that she wanted him to die, as it was something that he himself wanted. What pained him the most was that for all these years, he's been lying to her. She called her greatest enemy, the one that took everything from her, brother and even held his hand while sleeping so peacefully. Just the thought of her reaction when she finally found out the truth tore him up inside.
It was a long time before he could get any sleep that night.

Beast
A threat to the galaxy has come from another, and the Union of intelligent life will go to any length to stop it. Military Quarantine has held for hundreds of thousands of cycles. Traders, merchants, colonists, and Pirates live risky lives along the fringes as the politics from the inner systems fail to see the larger threats beyond their borders. A lone human finds himself far from home with no memories to how he arrived. A failing Trade vessel plays on a desperate gamble, while a malicious parasite searches for a suitable host. ............................................. Author's note: Beast is a story that I wrote a long, long time ago. Some of you might have read it then, back when it was posted on reddit over at r/HFY. It was my first webfiction and made in the spirit of that subreddit's "genre" of humanity being awesome. But, it is also a story that has bothered me a little bit. Just like most new writers tend to do, I made mistakes and errors that feel painful to reread. A Space Opera will be a Space Opera, but I had prose that makes present-me cringe. Still, at the same time, the story is still very much a tale I've never given up on. It was my first adventure into fiction: Beast was a crazy adventure with bodysnatching aliens, galactic war, threats from across the universe... Posting this story here is a way to try and redeem myself a bit. I won't call it a complete rewrite, because it's not, but I have wanted to go through and correct some of the major issues Beast has for a long time and put it somewhere more accessible to read (instead of as posts/comments on reddit) and I figure that now is as good a time as any. Additional corrections you might notice are welcome.

Chains of Dominion
If Jake wins the local Fantasy Tactics Online tournament, he’ll have everything he’s ever dreamed of — a ticket out of town and the attention of a beautiful woman. However, this woman has more planned for him than a bus ride to the local metropolis. She teleports him back to her Realm and declares him her Master… and says it’s up to him to save the world. No pressure. Rival Dominions vie for power, and they are all far larger and more organized than Jake’s rag-tag group of women, but he has two advantages: the rules of this world are eerily similar to those of Fantasy Tactics Online, and his wildest dirtiest sexual fantasies act as a power multiplier for his all-female army. Warning: The heroes have intense tactical battles, wild kinky sex, and near-constant flirtation. The villains are disturbing and cruel. If the idea of villains doing bad things bothers you, please do not read books ever, but especially don’t read this one.

The Fall
Perhaps the most well known of all devils, demons, or fallen angels is the one known as Lucifer, Satan, the Father of Lies. The cultural influence of this figure throughout history is by no means small. Despite that, it wasn’t until the time of Milton’s classic – Paradise Lost – that we saw an attempt to portray a dramatized version of the events leading to this figure’s fall from grace and power. And while this is the case, Paradise Lost is not about Lucifer – though it goes into great detail about his potential musings. No, Paradise Lost was, and still is, about the fall of mankind. So, in light of this, and the feeling that the classical story deserved another telling, I present to you all The Fall – a story focused particularly on Lucifer’s fall from grace and his musings both before and after.
