Referia Castle*

A young man with short brown hair and blue eyes wearing full Mythril and dragon scale armor and a sword on his hip walked through the Referia Castle. Making his way to the throne room.

"Father I have returned from the border the threat was taken care of it. It was a mercenary group just trying to stir up trouble." The man made his report and bowed to his father.

"Good work son, unfortunately, there is no time to rest Lord Vermillion is up to something again. He adopted some adventure named Yuuta."

The Prince scoffed "And what does that have to do with anything a simple adventurer is no match for Me."

"Quiet!! Let me finish before you interrupt." The king's expression erupted into rage.

"Sorry father."

"As I was saying this boy he adopted has recently been promoted to A class and has several ties to S rank adventurers he is no normal adventurer. I have sent him on a mission to kill a dragon that's been terrorizing a border town. My spies lost track of him in a cafe in the city he was with another S rank adventurer by the name of Gildi."

The prince grimaced and strained his cough Ronin new Gildi since they were kids. Avenci has trained him in magic for most of his childhood and teenage years. He had always planned on marrying Gildi when she finally gave in to his proposal.

"Father are you sure it was her why would somebody of her beauty and strength get involved with some peasant." Ronin felt his anger well up at the thought of Gildi being alone with this man.

"Yes I'm certain they entered a cafe together and never came out my guards questioned the owner and the server who was there but they kept their traps shut. So I plan to have there shop burned down in the near future.!" The king let out a putrid laugh.

Just as Ronin was going to continue the conversation the double doors opened and an older woman in her early 40s walked in. Her long blonde hair and green eyes shined brightly her features were delicate and pure. The complete opposite of the king. Following behind her was a young woman around the same age as Yuuta who was the spitting image of her older counterpart.

"Ahh, wife and my beautiful daughter what can I help you with?" The queen said nothing just taking her place in the throne.

The princess ran towards her brother and gave him a big hug. " We heard that brother had returned so I wanted to welcome him home."

The prince returned the hug and turned to his mother." Hello mother." The queen only nodded her head at his words.

"Father we will pick up our conversation later."

"Very well go get some rest you will most likely be leaving tomorrow to make a surprise visit to Yuart."

The five assassins dressed in all black moved swiftly through shadows as they approached Yuart castle. There footsteps mad no noise or leave any kind of mark. They were the embodiment of silence. Even with the 100 extra knights stationed in the castle, not a single one noticed the men.

The two guards in the northwest watchtower stood no chance against these men quickly being taken out throats slit with perfect precision.

The five assassins huddled together at the watchtower the one in charge began giving orders.

" Beta use your sensory magic to detect their locations of the targets. Me, Charlie, and Delta will take Vermillion out. Beta after you find his daughter and that halfbreed fiancé take Echo with you and bring them back here quietly Understood."

The men all nodded and disappeared back into the shadow all set in their duties.

Yuuta closed the portal and reopened it in a side room so he didn't disturb Ria and Milly. Gildi followed quickly behind.

The maid nearly screamed when she saw Yuuta come through a portal followed by a beautiful elf.

"Master where in God's name did you come from."

"Sorry about that didn't mean to scare you is Emery still awake?"

"I believe he's in his study currently the castle has been in an uproar since you sent those letters."Yuuta thanked her and made his way towards Emery.

After a few knocks, Emery gave him permission to enter. Just like the maid, Emery jumped out of his seat at the sight of Yuuta walking through the door.

"Yuuta..... when did you get here?" Emery mumbled through his surprise.

"Space magic turns out it's easier than expected. By the way, this is Gildi a good friend." Gildi went a little red being introduced so suddenly. She gave a quick bow.

"Anyways......." Yuuta froze his mana field picked up on 5 new people moving in from the castle.

"Their here"

Before anybody could react three men oozed out of the shadows and commenced their attacks. Yuuta was the first to move with a clean flash of his sword one of the men where cut clean in half. Gildi wasn't far behind in her reaction shooting an ice spear at the man about to take a slash at her. The ice spear hit him square in the chest the impact sent him flying into the wall. A wet crunch could be heard before he slumped to the ground.

To Yuuta and Gildi's surprise, Emery unleashed a devastating punch on the third man knocking him to the ground. Before the man could recover Yuuta was on top of him sword to his throat.

"Take care of him Gildi." Before she could respond Yuuta jumped through a gate he made with spatial magic.

Yuuta felt the presence of two more intruders making their way to his room. As if having perfect timing Yuuta emerged from the gate right in front of the two would be assassins. Yuuta unleashed his full aura on to the two dark clothed figures. It was more than enough to drop them to their knees as they tried to perpetually catch their breaths.

Ria and Milly shot out of the bed Milly hiding behind Ria's back. Ria instantly recognized Yuuta's back and calmed her frantic breathing.

"What's going on Yuuta?" Ria asked calmly she could tell how tense he was. Inching her way forward she placed her hand on his back.

"Everything's fine these two thought they could try and take you from me. Take Milly out of the room she doesn't need to see what's about to happen!"

Yuuta ended up barking the order at her. He didn't realize how on edge he was. All that was going through his mind was how close he was to losing her not mention his new little sister. His rage had never been this bad it was welling up inside him like a volcano he was scared what he was about to do.

Ria stiffened at his words he had never yelled at her like this before it was jarring to hear. She knew he wasn't mad at her but it still scared her to be on the receiving end of his anger. She wrapped Milly in her arms and left the room. 20 knights were waiting outside the door ready to meet them.

The guards tried to come into the room to help but Yuuta blocked them with his aura. "Just protect Ria and Milly you useless pathetic excuses for knights can't even protect 2 girls. Take them to Emery immediately !"

His anger exploded once more the two intruders long ago pissed themselves and were openly weeping. The knights quickly shut the door and escorted the girls.

Yuuta eased up on his aura letting the two intruders breathe. "Take off your masks if you make any kind of movement other than that I'll kill you!"

They wasted no time removing their masks. The one on the left was a simple middle-aged man he had a large scar on his face and couple missing teeth. To his surprise, the other intruder was a woman no older than him with long black hair and brown eyes. She was nothing to write home about but not bad looking either.

Yuuta started contemplating what to do he couldn't think straight but before he could decide the man made his move trying to escape out the window.

Almost on reflex Yuuta dashed towards the man and caught him easily before he realized what he was doing his fangs were in the man's neck and he was swallowing his blood gulp after gulp.

The woman started screaming in absolute horror she tried to run but her legs buckled and were useless. She looked on as Yuuta sucked the man dry his body turning into a dried out piece of jerky.

After finishing up his snack Yuuta opened a gate on the ground and dropped the body through it getting rid of the evidence.

"Please, I don't want to die! I didn't have a choice.......the king would have killed my family! My mom, dad, and even my little brother wo......would all have been ki......k....killed if I didn't do this please!" She begged and pleaded with the man in front of her.

Yuuta had calmed down significantly after drinking the man's blood he felt a sense of relief wash over him. Feeling better than he had since he left to meet the king. His body felt looser almost bouncing with each step he took. Paying no attention to the woman's pleas for forgiveness he started on part two of his meal. She let out a glass-shattering scream that slowly turned into a moan of almost pleasure as he feasted on her slim neck. It didn't take long for her body to become lifeless and look just as dried out as the mans.

After finishing he dropped her body through a gate and stepped outside his room. A maid with a look of pure fear was waiting outside the room scared to see what the young lord's room looked like.

"Please clean up my room by the time I get back with my fiancé," Yuuta said calmly as he made his way back to Emery they had moved locations now in a conference room with a couple couches and chairs. The one remaining assassin was brought to the dungeon for further interrogation.

As soon as he entered Emery embraced him giving him a giant bear hug.

"I don't know what to say Yuuta not only did you save my life but you saved my beautiful daughter thank you." Emery had tears in his eyes he was truly grateful.

Next was Milly he knelt down to meet his little sister and gave her a big hug.

"You ok pipsqueak not hurt are you?"

Milly gave a little giggle. "I'm fine Yuuta thanks for saving me."

"No problem it's my job as your big bro to protect you right." He let go of Milly and she ran back to her dad giving him a hug too.

Ria didn't move from the couch she was clearly upset and not in a good mood.

"Can you give me the room with my beautiful fiancé." Yuuta more ordered and less asked.

"Let's get to bed we'll talk more tomorrow about tonight's events and what they mean. Gildi I'll have a room made up for you to stay in." They quickly scattered out the door leaving the two lovebirds alone.

Yuuta slowly walked over and sat next to Ria. Even in her pj's and bed head, she looked amazing. She turned her back to him with "hmpf" sound.

"I'm sorry I yelled at you please don't be mad I was just scared and worked up from almost losing you if I had been a second slower who knows what would have happened." He wrapped his arms around her and pulled her close to him. She was already having a hard time suppressing her smile.

" I'm not mad Yuuta you just scared me you've never been that way with me before and it was unsettling to have you yell at me like that." Yuuta felt a little pit in his stomach. She turned and nuzzled into his neck. As much as she was trying to act upset she missed him tremendously.

"The last thing I wanted was to scare you I promise it will never happen again. I never want you to be afraid of me if anything I'm scared of you." Ria let out a giggle at his words.

"I'll never be afraid of you Yuuta it's just a new side I've never seen of you it took me some time to adjust. And how are you scared of me you literally fight monsters for a living?"

Yuuta made a small laughed " Monsters are nothing compared to you. You hold my heart in your hands you could destroy me easily with simple words."

Ria's mouth dropped open for a second realizing what he meant. It didn't take long for her bright smile to return. "Sorry for acting like I'm not happy you're home it was just a little payback for taking so long."

Yuuta kissed her deeply and picked her up carrying her back to their room now cleaned of any evidence of earlier events.
