《I Became A Vampire In Another World》Chapter 32

After scaring the shit out of the guards at the bridge and nearly getting stabbed May cleared up the situation quickly. The Knights settled down at the duchess's orders.
Yuuta was amazed by the castle it looked like it came straight out of fantasy novel, drawbridge and all. They made their way inside following Mays lead. Guards were posted every couple meters. After a couple of minutes of walking a loud scream came from a distance hallway.
"Where is May where is my daughter!" The screams got louder May turned into a blubbering mess hearing her mother's voice. The screaming women turned the corner her and May looked exactly alike blonde hair and blue eyes with the same air of royalty even when they were crying.
May stumbled towards her mother's arms getting smothered in a hug they both collapsed to the ground in a ball of sobs and half-spoken words.
Apparently the knights had sent a raven when they were first under attack. That was the reason the castle was on full alert. They stayed on the floor for a while before a burly man appeared down the hallway.
Everybody kneeled or bowed as he walked past it was obvious he was the king. He was a tall man easily 2 meters his face was worn with bags under his eyes. His brown hair flowed down to his shoulders with a beard that could rival dwarfs. His crown tilted to the right as he walked down the hall.
The two duchesses quickly stood up and gave a bow and so did Terra. Yuuta followed the others giving a half-assed bow.
"My beautiful niece are you ok we were all beside ourselves I was preparing the army to come get you as we speak. He quickly gave May a big bear hug his gaze hit Yuuta and did not move away."
"I'm fine Uncle Holger Yuuta saved me!" May's mom and the king both looked at Yuuta eyeing him up and down. He took this opportunity to introduce himself formally.
"Hello, I'm Lord Yuuta Vermillion of Yuart I was on my way to meet you King Holger when I noticed a carriage being ambushed. I acted as quickly as possible but the duke had already been killed along with the knights." The king's expression softened hearing his brother was dead. Mays mom quickly snatched her up hugging her tightly.
"I'm so glad your ok baby I don't know what would I do if you and your father were killed." Mays mother looked over Yuuta.
"Thank you, Yuuta my name is Duchess Ariel Hartford you have my eternal gratitude for saving my daughter." Her Expression was soft and motherly. A wave of sadness hit him remembering his mother. Quickly recovering he responded.
"No need to thank me anybody would have done the same in my situation." Ariel and May got up off the ground. Grabbing Mays hand to lead her away somewhere. May ripped her hand out of her grasp and ran to Yuuta giving him one last hug. Yuuta nervously accepted taking a look around the room the king had a stern expression and Ariel had a small smile on her lips. May looked up at him with those big blue eyes.

"Thanks again Yuuta for everything!" her bright smile seemed to lighten the mood a little as she walked off with her mom. The king who had been patiently waiting motioned for Yuuta to follow him and he did. Each twist and turn brought them farther into the castle this place was a maze. Terra followed quietly behind the two making sure not to stand out. The king stopped in front of a set of golden double doors a pattern of two lions roaring was engraved into the doors.
The king stayed silent as the doors creaked open. A long red carpet led to led to throne built of velvet leather, jewels, and gold. Truly a throne for the king of the biggest kingdom on this continent.
Knights lined each side of the room standing perfectly still there hands tensed up on their weapons. Yuuta could feel the animosity one false move by him or Terra would end in a fight.
The king's footsteps echoed through the room sitting down on his throne he looked impatient like Yuuta was supposed to be doing something. A foot hit him in the back of the knee making him fall to his knees. The knight who kicked him drew his sword placing it on Yuuta's neck.
"You bow to the king when you approach him." The knight snorted at him. A small cut started to form on his throat as the sword dug into his skin. Terra was currently being held back by two knights. The whole time the king had an arrogant smile on his face this was clearly planned from the start.
Yuuta getting tired of having a sword against his throat let his aura seep out. Yuuta's mana exploded from his body causing the knight to start shaking and soon enough dropped to the ground mouth foaming his eyes in the back of his head convulsing. Yuuta's anger was getting the best of him he let his entire aura escape all 60 knights 30 on each side slowly fell to the ground joining there comrade.
The only three left conscious was Terra, Yuuta, and the king. The king's smile was gone from his face but was unharmed he had some kind of artifact that protected him from Yuuta's mana.
"You dare disrespect me you low life peasant I only let you become the successor to that rat Emery cause he pulled a few strings! Don't think I won't have you and Emery executed for treason." Yuuta finally started putting the pieces together.
"I did not mean any disrespect King Holger I just didn't see any reason for violence." The king scoffed at Yuuta.
"Well, I suppose you're wondering why I ordered you here." Yuuta didn't say anything just nodding his head.
"We have gotten reports from the eastern border town Rudon that the dragon who lives in the Farenhale mountains has left its territory and made its home close to the town. The dragon has lived in the mountains for generations never once leaving his domain. It should be obvious but I want you to kill the dragon and find out why it left its territory. This is a royal decree and as a lord of my kingdom you cannot refuse." The king's smile came back feeling pleased with himself.

It was obvious he was trying to get rid of Yuuta. Sending him on a mission that would surely end in death was the easiest way to go about it.
"King Holger shouldn't we evacuate the surrounding towns and send in the army to help me fight this dragon. I'm not opposed to fighting it my self but wouldn't it be safer if we controlled the fight with numbers?"
Yutta didn't really understand why he was putting civilians in danger. Was killing Yuuta worth the sacrifice of his citizens.
"Unfortunately we are currently in a skirmish with Azantine on our southern border and can not spare any soldiers for your mission. And alerting the citizens will only cause panic the nobles and higher ups have already evacuated so there is no need to worry about such insignificant people."
Yutta was astounded by how easily he could lie straight to his face. Moments ago he just stated he was going to send part of his army to retrieve May. So which part was he lying about not having soldiers to spare or that he was going to save May? Either way, it didn't matter in this current situation.
"Yes, your majesty but if I may, I'm supposed to start at the academy in a few days?" The king gave a small laugh at Yuuta attempt to get out of the mission.
"Do not worry I will send a letter to the academy they will understand if it's for the Kingdom." Yuuta nodded his head.
"Very well I would like to send word to Emery and my fiancé that I will be gone longer than expected."
"Very well the carriage ride to Rudon is 2 months alone so expect to be gone at least half a year. Hopefully, nothing bad happens in Yuart while you're gone." The king's smile turned sinister at his obvious foreshadowing. He was like a bad villain in a superhero movie.
Yuuta's rage was coming back his aura bounced against the invisible barrier that was protecting The King. Holger's smile quickly disappeared again and was visibly shaking. Yuuta could take a lot of things but threatening Ria was a line nobody was allowed to cross not even a king. It took all his willpower to stop himself from removing Holger's' head from his body.
Cursing Emery for putting him in this situation he decided to keep the flying a secret. Although it really wasn't a secret Yuuta cursed himself this time for flying into the city. Either way, If he flew there he should be able to drastically decrease the time it would take. Hopefully, he could make it back before the king's plan could be put into action.
Plus if the kingdom finds out he killed a dragon he would instantly be regarded as a hero and the king will back off. But that was just hopeful thinking Yuuta had no idea how strong dragons were just that they were S class monsters like himself.
(Maybe Avenci can shed some light on how strong dragons are.)
"One last thing Yuuta this request is through the guild so please follow up with them before setting off. They will have to send somebody out there to find your corpse." Yuuta grimaced at the last half of his statement. The king whispered it but thanks to Yuuta's enhanced senses he caught it.
Yuuta gave a quick bow before stepping over the knight's bodies to leave the throne room. His anger was welling up in him he felt like his rage was going to explode out of him. Terra quickly followed behind unsure of what to say she quickly caught on to the king's plan as well but it's not her place to question a Yuuta let alone a king.
Getting far enough away from the throne room Yuuta punched a wall holding back as much as possible the ground trembled under the force of his attack. The wall dented making dust fall from the ceiling.
Terra put her hand on his shoulder but he quickly pushed it off and gave her his famous death glare. She almost peed herself as her body froze up she was seconds away from passing out when Yuuta looked away.
She fell to her knees gasping for air. Before she could recover Yuuta started barking orders at her.
"You will get the fastest horse available and you will ride non stop back to Yuart. You will tell them what is happening and after you do that you will stick to Ria like she's a second head growing out of your body. You will be by her side 24/7 you will sleep with her eat with her bathe with her." Terra gave a quick "yes Lord" as her answer and ran off to find a horse.
Yuuta headed for the guild being as quick as possible he still needed to stop by the Mages guild to talk to Avenci. Being angry wouldn't fix the situation he was in Taking a minute to look through the biggest city in Hartford it was a truly beautiful sight. He needed to focus there was no time for the king to get into his head and make him slip up.
(Guild first, then Avenci, then Rudon) Yuuta spoke this mantra as he headed for the adventures guild.

When Li’s level 100 game character is transported to a fantasy world, he realizes he is unstoppable. But…all he wants to do is be a farmer? Watch as Li tries to maintain his peaceful daily life in a chaotic world full of magic and knights.===Foreword===Slow Pace: This novel does have a slow pace with things building up piece by piece over time. However, this also means that the further you read, the more connections will begin linking up and the more the story will start building up.OP MC: The MC in this novel is extremely powerful from the very beginning. If this appeals to you, then check this novel out.Crafting/Farming Warning: This is a warning to say that if you are looking for a novel that focuses entirely on a crafting system or farming, then I have to say that this novel does eventually move on from the whole farming premise, getting much larger in scope overall.===Doever Writing Quality Guarantee===I can give a solid guarantee that the writing quality of this novel is of the highest tier on this website. Even though I would like to go through many of the initial chapters for a proofread, I still believe the writing quality is top notch for this website. There will be very few mistakes, and the few that do slip by me will not affect readability at all. Now, you may not agree with how the novel develops, but I can at the least guarantee that you will have no trouble actually reading what happensOf course, I am not perfect, so please feel free to point out mistakes and problems and I will be more than happy to fix them! But most importantly, whether you have criticisms or enjoy the book, thanks for reading!

But when an object of great and malevolent power promises to make good on all the promises the mages broke to him Mar is thrust into the world of magic. Mar will find that fate had something more than a life confined to the library planned for him after all. Authors Notes: I consider this to be a comming-of-age Sword and Sorcery story based mostly on the style of classic western fantasies. So if that's your thing then I encourage you to take a peek. Something I want to mention though is that the main character starts of pretty wimpy, and that might not be your thing. That being said, if you stick with him he's got a long way to grow. Also, while this version of the story is meant to be fully readable, more dicerning readers may want to wait until I move out of rough draft phase. There may be some inconsistancies with character and plot while I am still in the rough draft phase. I'm sorry for this, but this is my first web novel and from what I've read the best way to get a good novel out is to write write write, and then edit ruthlessly after you're finished with the book, so that's the plan I'm going to follow. Again, this is a rough draft. Everything you are reading is subject to change, including the name, title, and cover photo. This may no longer be the case once I've decided I know where this fiction is going and I have a reasonable understanding of the characters and their behavior. You're reading what comes off my keyboard as it's made, with very limited editing. There will be mistakes in the text. I do a quick spell check to take out the worst of the errors, but there will be some I miss. You can point them out in the comments if they are particularly confusing or glaring and I will try to fix them, however I am not overly concerned about minor errors as this is not the final draft by any means.
