《I Became A Vampire In Another World》Chapter 28

Making his way home from the academy for the day all he wanted to do was relax but of course it was too much to ask for. Emery had him immediately escorted to his chambers.
"Ahh Yuuta we might have an issue!"
"And what would that be?"
"The king has requested your presence in the capital 2 days from now."
Yuuta let out a loud sigh "Shit do I really have to go?"
Emery looked a little concerned as well.
"Of course you do Yuuta he's the king if he says jump you say how high."
Yuuta burst out laughing. "I don't know if you met me Emery but I don't take orders from anyone. Even your little king I'll go out of respect for you but don't expect me to kiss his ass."
Emery slapped his forehead and groaned. "I guess that's all I can ask for at least try to be courteous we don't need any unneeded drama. I'm already working on taking over this country I'll need your help later so it's better if you don't get on his bad side."
Yuuta waved off his words of world domination for now. "Yea well if you'll excuse me I'm going to see my fiancé."
Ria was with Milly as usual. She was learning fast reading a book out aloud to Milly. It seemed to be some fairytale kids book. After finishing the last page Yuuta clapped loudly making them both of them jump.
"Yuuta you scared me." Ria ran over giving him a hug. Milly followed close behind.
"Sorry I was just impressed by my incredibly smart fiancé." Ria went beet red and Milly laughed at her.
"That's unfair Yuuta I'm still learning to read." It was true it's only been two weeks since she started to learn.
They played with Milly for an hour or two before she fell asleep on the couch while Yuuta read a book out loud.
"Have you eaten yet?" Ria asked like a worried mom.
"No do you wanna go to a restaurant I'm tired of being cramped up in the castle plus I get to show off my beautiful goddess of a fiancé."
Ria punched him in the arm.
"Jeez, Yuuta What do you think all this flattery is going to get you?"
Yuuta gave her a wink and slapped her ass letting out a yelp in surprise.
"I guess we will find out tonight." Ria let out an embarrassed giggle.
Following Yuuta's orders, Ria wasn't allowed to leave the castle without a full escort of guards. As they were leaving out the gate 8 knights followed close behind ready to give their lives for her. The sun had just fallen and the street pyres lit the roads. There was some kind of festival going on. The streets were littered with people all staring at the two love birds.

Ria grabbed Yuuta's arm digging her face in his chest.
"This is embarrassing everybody is staring at us Yuuta!" It almost sounded like she was going to cry.
"It's fine beautiful there all just jealous they don't get to be the one next to you." Ria snorted in his chest making the mood a little lighter.
Most of the people kept there distance a couple of the younger girls tried to get Yuuta's attention whistling and shaking their hips at him. It wasn't often a Lord would walk down the street like they were doing. A couple of girls tried to run up and hug him but the knights behind them would effortlessly redirect them before they could get close.
Some of the guys would whistle at Ria and say some unflattering things a knight would break off from the formation and scare the shit out of the men. The ones who dared to get close would get pounded into the ground by Yuuta's deathly aura.
After a couple of minutes of walking around, they started checking out the stands. Ria stopped at a jewelry stall selling cheap trinkets. Her eyes locked on a blue swallow hair clip.
"Do you want it?" Yuuta grabbed her hand bringing her closer to the stall and old women was the vendor.
"Lord Yuuta Lady Ria it's an honor for you to look at my wares." Ria got nervous hiding behind his back she still wasn't used to being addressed like royalty. Yuuta did the talking.
"No need for the formalities my beautiful fiancé here would like that hair clip. How much does it cost?"
The old lady started shaking her head. "It's free for the Lady there's no way I could take money from our future Lord."
Yuuta picked the hair clip up and put it in Ria's hair her face lit up. " Thank you, Yuuta I love it!" Her smile made Yuuta's heart skip a beat" Anything for my love." The nearby girls started laughing talking about where to find a man like that.
"Here take this ma'am there no way I could take this for free." Yuuta handed her a platinum coin. The old lady fumbled for words that was more money than she would make for 2 years. Before she could respond they were already a couple of stalls down looking at Animal Masks.
After a couple more minutes of looking around, they made their way to a restaurant called The Swan. It was a fancier restaurant for upper middle-class families. Yuuta ordered the knights to wait outside. The hostess at the front nearly dropped her tray of food when she saw them walk in.

The young lady quickly ran up to them and gave a quick bow. " My lord what brings you into our lowly tavern."
Yuuta let out a laugh watching her almost shit a brick. " Isn't it obvious we came to eat! What's your name?"
They lady fumbled with her words."Ma Ma...Maddy Sir...Lord Yuuta."
"Calm down Maddy there's no reason to be so nervous I guess you know who I am already this is my fiancé Ria." Ria gave her a warm smile saying hello.
"Sorry Lord it's just This is a first nobody would expect somebody of your status to eat at our tavern."
After a couple more minutes they got seated at a table. The restaurant was dead quiet all of them staring at the two out of place characters. Of course, Ria was bright red.
An old man that resembled Giodore just with more hair came out the back it was an uncanny resemblance. He walked to their table and gave a bow.
"My Lord it's an hour to have you eat at my tavern my name is Rock please if you need anything find me or my daughter Maddy." Yuuta couldn't help but ask.
"Do you by any chance know Giodore from Celis?"
His eyes went wide and a crooked smile appeared.
" Giodore is my older brother how would you know an old fool like that."
Yuuta and Ria both laughed at Rock. "Giodore is a close friend he helped both of us a lot when I first moved to Celis. He even gave Ria her first job.
Ria cut in " Yea Giodore is a great guy he was always super nice and friendly!"
"Well that's a surprise my brother would know somebody so important how is he anyway I haven't seen him in a year?"
After a couple of minutes of small talk, they ordered and waited for their food. Yuuta was downing mead and Ria was sipping on wine.
"So the king wants to meet me in two days it seems pretty secretive too? Ria had a worried look on her face.
"You have to leave again?" Ria gave her best pout. Yuuta felt the guilt flowing already.
"Unfortunately I don't have a choice according to Emery there's no way around it."
Ria got quiet fiddling with the hem of the table cloth. Yuuta leaned over grabbing her hand.
"I know it sucks but it's only for a day maybe two at most." Yuuta rubbed his thumb making circles on her hand.
Ria flashed a small smile " I understand I just get lonely without you and I take it out on everybody around me."
Yuuta let out a loud laugh " I know I heard from Milly you made Emery cry last time I left!"
Ria threw her napkin at him making her burst out in laughter. "It's not funny Yuuta I ended up having to make him feel better for two hours while he cried like a little kid."
"Sorry, it's just funny to think about. Anyways you'll have Milly to keep you company you two seem to be as close as sisters now."
Ria nodded her head "Yea she was pretty lonely before we showed up she was by herself without any girls to talk since her mom passed away. only having her dad to talk to must have been rough. I'm happy she has somebody she can talk to now."
"I would go crazy too if the only person I could talk to was Emery!" They both started laughing at Vermillion's expense.
The rest of dinner went by talking about there day and how Ria was getting used to royal duties. She had to do a lot more than they both expected since she was the next lady of the castle. From decorating the castle to what would be served for dinner it all went through her now.
It was late into the night before they left the restaurant Ria was drunk as skunk finishing a bottle of wine by herself. Yuuta was a little buzzed but he could never get really drunk anymore. Ria was riding piggyback yelling unintelligible words and sentences making Yuuta die from laughter.
The so-called "peasants"( Yuuta didn't really like calling them that.) where staring at the two it was still pretty lively because of the festival it was truly an odd sight to see the future Lord walking around like he was a common peasant. People couldn't help but comment on it.
They made their way back to the castle turning in for the night Ria ended up throwing up most of the dinner she was a real lightweight. Yuuta had the privilege of holding her hair and rubbing her back as she hurled into the toilet. He didn't mind he actually enjoyed it kind of like a milestone in their relationship. Watching your significant other throws up. He lightly snickered to himself ticking a mental box in his mind as he tried to soothe Ria.

Path of Blood.
In my world, there are only idiots who know nothing of the true workings of the world. They only see what is shown to them, only accepting and not questioning anything. They brag about the strength given to them yet do not know how or where that power comes from. Sick of this competition for power that is unfair to all who participate, I’m tired of being given choices that seem fine to others but don’t make any sense to me. Others are blessed with supreme talent, others are born cripple; the world is unfair and that is a fact. But what if you could see? What if the world was open to you and only you? Would your life change forever? Would you become a King amongst men? OF COURSE NOT! For the heavens are fair and they shall maintain the balance of the realm, no matter what the case. Did I ask for the knowledge I was given? NO! Did I ask for the abilities I was given? NO! So then why make me different? Why turn me into a monster who sees all yet cannot participate in the competition for power that you have arranged? WHY HAVE THE HEAVENS FORSAKEN ME? From birth I saw everything, nothing could escape my sight. However, the heavens made me a cripple, they put me in the shadows and I can’t help but yearn for the light. Why am I still of the living then? Well, Why should I give the Heavens the satisfaction of seeing me give up? I will not submit to the heavens nor will I submit to the bastards that wish to use me. All I can do now is continue to rebel against everything. All I can do is continue to battle the Heavens in my heart. I shall carve out a new path for all those like me, a path that will go against the very constitution of this world. How will I do this? I do not know. But I will! ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I will upload a chapter a day on Royalroad (maybe more) however if you want more of the story at a quicker pace then go to fantasy-books.live. There are currently 110+ chapters of Path of Blood there. P.S - I started Path of Blood about a year ago so the first fifteen chapters have some problems character wise however I'm currently working with an editor to remedy these to make the story a better read. Anyway, these issues don't last long and since Pob is a story that rewards the patient, only those who've read till the latest will understand how good the story really is....I designed it to get better with every ark, surprises planned at every corner and the eventual ending of Pob will definitely not dissapoint, so stick around and give it a chance. :D
