《The Crown's Right》Chapter 9- Adelina Brickendom

At that moment, Adelina seemed to fail to notice the clamor around her; the imminent cries outside of their mansion, the suffocating sharp and pungent smell condensed with an alarming heat that scuffs her skin creates a set of thousands of death around that no one could deny.
She looks down on her hands clasped together, as if seeking strength from each other, laid on her lap as she maintained her poised manner sitting on a chair. So, this must be her demise? Just another piece to use for survival; this is what a woman's fate is at this point.
Who is the leader of the revolt organization? She saw him once that day; while her eyes widen from terror, her mouth games for air as she became aware of the situation, and reality slaps her hard on her cheek. William, a peasant who doesn’t even have a name, came from the village outside of the Kingdom but grew up and lived inside the Kingdom as a coachman then an ordinary soldier before becoming a gate warden because of the injury he had from the battle of Vishnu. This town was led by a barbarian, now under the ruling of some small Marquis, who was not that influential and became the victim of political sacrificial.
A man who could not marry anyone at his age was blessed by demons to be the revolutionary leader and could practically get anyone under his arms by just threats and provocation.
This man, old enough to be her father, will be her husband. It makes her retch from her sputum. Not to mention the kind of look as he eyes on her body; she asked that time why did she even tried learning all those stuff and worked hard every day to be perfect and complimented when in the end, she'll be just another pig for a monster to devour.
Hence, for her, she just really wanted death to knock on her door. But seeing her parents' faces who took care of her, the minor children of their other relatives, she cannot do so because of guilt. Out of all people, why does it have to be her? If only she didn’t have the face that she used to be so proud of, if she didn’t have the title and rank of a noble she had now that she used to be happy it existed, then maybe, she could get out of this situation.
She used to make herself look good at all times so that when that person comes, she’s prepared to see him. She used to pray for her rank to be higher to be qualified to marry that person but now? She wondered where he is? He didn’t even go to look at her or talk to her. Tell her what he is planning. These days, she’s not feeling well. She always tends not to sleep and wonder all night why did Prince Balt left without explaining anything to her, then maybe she’ll know what to do. Even their friend, Justine, is nowhere to be found. She feels like she’s alone, fighting just by herself, and it is taking a toll on her. She could feel her heart and mind break with every second that pass.

She can’t even answer her father anymore. She is drained to the extent where she cannot even think. She will probably lie on this same chair, waiting for the end of the day.
Adelina, being succumbed to her thought, didn’t saw nor recognize the other person coming in the room with her family. He is a servant wearing a black robe and black pants and a shirt—clearly, a servant who does some crucial tasks.
“Sire, some royal members were caught!” They told a servant to look over the revolt organization and report their movements to them, announced the shocking information.
“What? I thought they all escaped?” The Marquis asked, even though he betrayed the Kingdom, he was still concern about the royal family. Even though the revolt organization defeats the royal family, no matter what, as long as the nobles know that the ruler was a peasant, he will always be a peasant in their eyes. After generations, they will start to face the importance of nobility in this world. The Glyvecaruis God's blood is flowing onto the royal family; that is the main reason they cannot be killed or else, even though no one believes the God now, he knows some truths about it.
He looks over his daughter; in their blood, they know it for sure. That is why he and the previous King insisted on marrying their daughter and son, but because of this situation, it must be postponed. But in his mind, he was already planning on marrying one niece to the prince to fulfill that thing.
“Who was caught? Was it the second prince?” He asked his servant with anxiety.
“No, Sir. But the Duchess Bruvgradon, she was caught in the royal chamber with the queen.” He explained.
“What about the Duke and their children?” he proceeded to inquire.
“The Duke is dead. He fought with the three commanders to protect the King but was defeated. Their children was caught, too. They almost escaped; they’ve reached the borders of Litheruania, but some peasants killed them. The reports came from an informant on a horse. The others were also killed.” He continued.
Marquis Brickendom cannot help but think. He once again glances a glimpse at his daughter. Every noble were killed now. Only their family were saved because of the marriage promised by William and Adelina. Hearing the situation, he cannot help but ponder upon some things. He turns around to see a painting of the Glyvecaruis God.
“I’ll believe in you, God. Help my family and this Kingdom when the right time comes.” He ordered the servant, whispering his one last command to him.

A week after the battle, the Brickendom Family heard of the execution of the caught royal family members, which will be held tomorrow.
That was also the day that Adelina first and last saw Prince Balt. The once shining person, full of life and curiosity, knows wearing a sack on his head. His majestic suit is now tattered while dark spots of dried blood cling and sip into the cloth. Angelina cannot stop her whole body from shaking as she stares at how the knights who used to protect the royal family take off the sack on Prince Balt's head, revealing a pale face; he has a wound of the slash of a sword right across his face, one eye cannot seem to open, and for some reason, the only vision he had to see is focused on her alone. Even after all the things he went through, it seemed like nothing change. She could still see the same Balt she loved and will always treasure in her heart. Those eyes that shines whenever he meets hers, they still do the same. It's wasn’t even hurt as happiness came into his broken face when he saw her.
Angelina slowly gained back a warm feeling inside her heart. They were slowly making her feel her blood rushing in every corner of her body. She unconsciously walks to him but was stopped by her father. She looks over to Prince Balt and felt her tears flowing down her cheeks. She smiled towards him as the knight dragged him to the garrote. Her eyes widen from it.
“N-No…” her voice cracked after no talking for days. Her voice sounded light, small, and coarse in the process. “No!” her family looked back at her and turned scared from the thought.
“Husband, let us get out of here. Angelina is_”. Her mother warned her father
“Alright. Angelina, come here. We must go.” Her father instructed her, but she insisted.
“Father no! Balt is there. He is finally there. Father, Balt is_. Balt will_”. She cannot finish her sentences from fear.
“Adelina, if you wish to see Prince Balt to his very last breath, you need to keep quiet. Everyone is eyeing on us!” He angrily whispered in her ears. Her eyes look around to see the people looking at her with angry expressions.
She looks over Prince Balt and felt an immense pain to see him giving her an assuring smile even though it hurts him. Why is he having a garrote death penalty and without a cover on his head? This is like spitting on the royal family! But that is what the people wanted to put on their graves by making Balt an example.
Her tears flow at a never-ending pace as she looks at Balt, who never took off his eyes a single bit on her. Her face contorts from the pain she’s suffering. She remembered back in those days; she wished that she kissed him that day on the ball when they were alone in the royal garden. She hoped she gave the baked cookies that she was too shy to share when he asked her what was in her hands. She wished that she told him straightforwardly how much she loved him when he told her to wait for him after realizing his dreams and went out for a journey. She stares lovingly at Prince Balt and slowly opens her mouth, whispering, “I love you,” making the latter shock at first but smiled lovingly as well. It seemed he will reply to her, but his face contorted as the screen was tightened. His face turning from pale to blue as his nerves on his forehead seemed to pop out. His eyes that used to stare at her lovingly closed as he chokes and gasps for air.
Adelina heaves and closes her eyes as well. She covered her ears as she heard his groans and retch. Soon, there was only silence. Even the cheering people for him to die were silent. She opens her eyes slowly and saw Prince Balt's dead body on the chair; she slumped down, and she blankly looks over his corpse.

Extermination Order
So it turns out that anime got something right: If you get hit by a truck, you're going to another world. Dennis became subject to that unknown quirk of reality when crossing a busy city street (despite having looked both ways). But that was quite some years ago. He's been around this new world 'Nassur' a time or two and knows how to live a good life. He also knows that adventuring friggin sucks. So, what is a man to do in a fantasy world with a shoddy leveling system that constantly suggests getting more XP, and a condition set by the gods that you must make the world a better place? Pest extermination. But reality is often fickle. Perhaps one day it is only rats, another, mechanical centipedes with lasers. Maybe the Dark Lord needs a shoulder to cry on because his dungeon simply can't be ready in time for the adventurers he likes to do battle against. Another poor soul from Earth could appear just as dazed and confused as the day you'd first arrived, requiring a good long talk about 'hey, what the hell is this, man'. And maybe... just maybe, that thick book of owed favors comes back to haunt you. For a man who desires a peaceful, productive life, Dennis can find it rather difficult for a week to go by where something doesn't go awry. This series originally started on r/HFY, [Link] but I decided to post it here since people are so positive about it! Posting rate is, and likely will continue to be, rather inconsistent.
