There's this one game I play which I never tried to finish the main quest and stayed playing the side quests since it was way more fun. However, at some point, it connected to the main quest which was supposedly finished before I could proceed. Because of that, I got forced to retrace the main quest which was really far. Moral lesson: Do the most important one first before messing around.

“A, a dragon is chasing our ship!”

The moment he said that, I rushed towards the window and stuck my face to hit. I look and searched in hope to see the dragon appear once again.

For some reason, I don't feel scared at all. In fact, I'm really excited to see one.

“I want to ride the dragon like in Skyrim!” (English)

“What are you talking about? More importantly, what are we going to do?”

I haven't seen a dragon before, this is probably the only time I’m going to see one so I'm going to make the most out of it.

“Captain, I'm going to go out there and do something about this dragon. You fly the ship to one direction and I'll catch up.”

“But we're thousands of meters from the ground! What can you do?”

I didn't really listen to what he said. I just went to the ladder that goes to the roof of the bridge as shortcut. When I got out, I look around outside the barrier.

Although the barrier I made was to prevent the storm's strong winds from hitting the ship, it doesn’t entire block it out. The > and > magic needs a source to work after all.

Keep looking at the dark clouds for the dragon. Although it was just a glimpse, I saw a part of its huge silvery wings. I'm betting it's called [Storm Dragon] because it appeared here in the storm.

“Tch! I can't see it from here. >!”

It's been a long time since I've last equipped this magic. > is actually > which I overwritten. I'm using arm blades instead of the claws because I want to ride that dragon.

“Leaving the ship would be a bad idea. I might get lost in this storm. Man I wish I had a radar magic. Maybe I should create one when I have the time.”

While saying so, I lift myself using flight and leave the ship. I fly towards the barrier and look around before going out.

“If I remember correctly, a dragon's fire can burn magic. But to what degree?”

I noticed this, but I didn't see the dragon spitting fire or the dragon itself yet. I'm beginning to doubt that it's really a dragon that attacked us before.

Then, just when I was about to lose interest, all of a sudden, DRAGON!

Accompanied by a thunderous roar, the dragon bumps the barrier that's just in front of me. The impact was so strong that I could feel the show ship shake because of my magic connection to it.

But before that, I was finally able to see it's face and form.

Just like in the stories, the dragon has four legs and wings. Except, the front pair is smaller than the back, and the number of wings on its back are four which consists of 2 big wings and 2 small ones. The skin is made of silvery scales, probably because of the rain, it looks really smooth. Not only that, it's almost a quarter the size of our ship which is as big as a soccer field. Wingspan not included.

More importantly, the face. I thought that the dragons have only one pair of eyes, but this one has 3 pairs. Its teeth are so long that it peeks out of its mouth and some even on front. Its horns are like a devil's. There are four of it and arched to the back of its neck. And since it's cracking with electricity, I guess I was right about it being a [Storm Dragon].

[ROAR]

I really got fascinated by it to the point of forgetting the fact that it's attacking us. But after its ear-deafening roar, I got back to my senses.

“So you're the dragon, huh.”

When it flew back into the clouds again, I decided to fly out of the barrier and gave chase.

“Oh, FUCK!”

But when I got out, the storm's wind blew right to my face and tossed me around and away from the ship in an instant.

I tried my best to at least maintain my balance, but since the wind is too strong, I have to think of another way.

“>”

I really thought that I had made the right move, but instead, it made me lighter and I got tosses around even more. I immediately dispel it.

“If that didn't work, then >!”

With a transformation delay of two seconds, the back part of my armor transforms into a jet-pack-like form and starts blowing out strong flames. Because of the high pressure jet flames I blasted out, I was able to out match the wind's strength and rotate back against it.

Now that I have properly flown in the storm, I also notice something in the clouds.

Not too far from where I am, I could see a ball of orange dim light flying away from me. I can already guess that it’s the Drukade.

“So that's why we got attacked. We looked like a bunch of sitting ducks just waiting to be attacked. This is my fault.”

While I contemplate over my blunder, I fly roughly towards the ship’s direction.

“Now where is that--! Oh fuck!”

Before I could finish my words, the dragon suddenly shows up out of nowhere and attacked me from the left. I was thankful that the wind blew from that direction and I was able to dodge its open jaws. Lucky!

“Shit! He almost got me.”

Before it disappeared into the dark clouds again, I chase it while making a large explosive sound with my boosters.

“Damn, this Dragon's head is bigger than me.”

I fly above behind its head since it's probably it's blind spot.

I really thought that that was a good idea, only until it twists its neck and looked at me while simultaneously opening its mouth.

I really thought that it would spit fire, but unexpectedly, I saw its jaws crackle with electricity. Only then I knew that the dragon wouldn’t spit fire.

Disabling the boosters for a moment, I’m able to evade a burst of electrical beam by hairsbreadth.

Just when I thought I was able to completely, the beam, just like lightning, it created electrical branches. I got caught by one of the many branches and took a shocking hit to all parts of my body.

I was able to cast > on myself on the last second. If I didn't I could have died from it. Even if I didn't, the sensation of getting shocked by something beyond a Taser can already knock me out. I'm only lucky I didn't.

I got stunned there for seconds, and the dragon didn't waste any time and throw its claw and slashed me while I'm open.

Since I wasn't able to completely recover yet, I was only able to cast > behind me to protect me.

However, the dragon's power is stronger than I expected and my barrier barely withstood against it and I got thrown away again.

The power of the dragon is so strong that I got thrown to quite a distance. I only managed to stop spinning in the air after I locked myself in place by shooting jet fire from six directions with magic.

Luckily, I didn't get any serious wounds from that blow. It's probably going create a huge bruise on my side though.

I thought that the dragon would continue attacking, turns out, he rotates himself back to the ship's direction and chases it again.

“So it's really after the ship huh. I thought it was me he's after.”

Since the dragon is quite fast, I had a hard time catching up. To add, it's like the whole storm is going against me because it's pushing me back.

“Shit! So it comes to this.”

I lock myself in place again in the air. After that, I stretch out my arms and open my hand like a blooming flower while aiming at the dragon.

The runes that came out of the ring began constructing the moment I thought of the concept. When I finished doing it, the runes connected around my hands in a circle formation.

I aimed at the dragon with outmost precision. I'm planning to end this quick since it I can't mount it and Marie and the rest will be in danger.

The moment I shot my magic, it flew towards the dragon in an unbelievable speed which surpassed the speed of sound. It was so strong that it also blew away the rain and clouds for a second like splitting a wave. While that was happening, because of my magic, it's like the space and time got warped and became distorted.

> is a magic I developed on a whim a month ago. I tried combining several Arcane and Force magic and somehow, created a magic that could crack the dimensional properties of the world. I thought that I have broken the world's dimension, turns out, it's just a disturbance in the Ether flow thus making a destructive crack on the place it was casted.

Because of that, I had to fix the whole farm outside the mansion for destroying it. It got sucked into the crack after all. And because of it, I, Cherry, and Matt categorized this magic as [Forbidden Magic].

Though this is a dangerous magic, I have no choice to use it now since the enemy is a dragon. According to what I heard, dragons can't be killed with magic unless it's advance or forbidden. Thus I chose the latter because of the setting and the situation.

Seeing my magic, the dragon turns towards it and opens its mouth. It tried to let out its breath, but because of my magic disturbing the flow of ether in the air, it can't since it got absorbed into the distortion.

The magic was able to land on the dragon's body, but unexpectedly, it was not effective and only scratched its thick scale. How tough is this dragon!? That was forbidden magic level!

On the bright side, it seems to have recognized me as threat and stopped chasing the ship.

Probably because of the damage I dealt, it's has gotten real angry while instantly flying towards me with a speed almost surpassing the speed of sound.

There's quite a distance between us, but it wasn't able to help me since the dragons is fast and huge.

But I’m not planning to die here.

“> >”

While I fly backwards from the incoming dragon, I leave 10 replicas of my arm blades while simultaneously charging them up. I have practiced in controlling the blades in my free time since the time I acquired them. I can control 24 blades, but only 12 in combat. But since I'm also flying, it drops to 10. It's hard controlling many things simultaneously at the same time.

I think it understands that I'm preparing for combat. It slows down and then wraps magic around it's wings. Leaving aside the fact that the dragon is intelligent, the enchant it's preparing is stronger than regular >. I think it's going at me with full power.

“GRAAA!”

While letting out a deafening roar, the dragon comes at me once again. At the same time, I charge towards the dragon side by side with my blades.

I make 4 of my blades go first and attack the dragon.

The blades are enchanted with > which are my version of >. This version doesn't shoot out like the Piercing Blow, but instead, warps into hyper speed.

I expected it to make blowholes in the dragon, but instead, it broke. Before that happened, the dragon warped its wings around it's body like a cocoon while rotating in high speed, deflecting and breaking my magic.

“Damn! It can also judge an attack's power. It's more intelligent than I thought.”

While saying that, I continue bombarding the dragon with endless rain of blades by summoning new ones every time it breaks.

It may not look like a good idea, but it's gradually chipping away the enchant on the dragon's wings. I can say that no matter how strong you are you can't stand up against [Infinity].

It probably judged that it would die if this keeps up. So instead of going straight towards me, it flew away from me. But since it didn't fully retreat, I guess it has some sort of plan.

Just when I was still making my blades chase it, for some reason, I can't control them and they dispersed from lack of magic power. I'm out of range?! This is the first time I experience realizing my magic's area of influence, I didn't know it was this short!

When I realized that, there's already a lightning breath going my way.

I was able to fully dodge it this time by using my blades as conductors to divert the flow of the lightning. Basic Science.

Chasing after the dragon is already out of the question since we're almost of the same speed in flight. I have to think of a way to get him into range.

No, wait. I don't need him to enter my range.

All I have to do is make him stay on one position.

While I thought of that, I fly around to dodge the series of lightning breath while simultaneously constructing magic using my ring.

Since it was proven that my forbidden magic > was ineffective against the dragon, I just have to create something far more powerful and stronger than it.

I can't get the dragon into my range, so what I'm going to do is use that disadvantage into my advantage.

I fire > to the dragon as counter attack, but they just merely stick on the scale like a needle to a wooden plank.

That's understandable. > is just a combination of > and >. In exchange for it's super long range, it's firepower drops the farther the target is. In short, it's ineffective against the dragon.

“We're getting nowhere if this keeps up.”

Leaving that aside, how long is this dragon's stamina? It doesn't look like it's getting tired at all, and it doesn't look like it's not letting me out of his sight unless I’m dead.

Scary, but it's according to plan.

I fly straight down to the ground while leaving trails of light because of my booster. I did it on purpose.

Seeing me fly down, the dragon dives and chases while keeping a distance outside my range.

It looks like he falls faster than me. In order to prevent him from catching up to me, I go down spiraling around him and leave explosions of >.

I thought that he finally stopped chasing after me after spreading it's wings wide to kill it's speed. Turns out, we just happen to have the ground on sight without me noticing. Since I was falling at more than 410mph, I almost killed myself from the fall if I didn't use > in front of me to kill my momentum.

I’m not injured, but I feel sick after that sudden push on the stomach.

I wanted to rest a bit, but the dragon obviously won't let that happen. It spreads it's wings wide and gathers a lot of mana from inside it's body.

After a moment, the storm suddenly worsens and lightning strikes suddenly everywhere destroying the trees and monsters.

Of course, I expected something like that from this dragon.

After I finalized my new magic's creation, spread my arms and runes started coming out of my ring. Every one of these runes arranged themselves and started orbiting around me. Not just one or two, but five rings of runes are orbiting.

“I'll rip this storm off the sky and you along with it.”

While looking at the dragon, I put my hands beside the dragon in my vision like I'm about to clasp my hands.

“>”

I make a gesture of gripping unto something in the air. After that, I pull away my hands like I was ripping something into two.

The next second, the sky—no, the space beside the dragon suddenly becomes rough and opens 2 black empty spaces. Not only that, these started sucking in everything near it like a black hole. Everything, especially the dragon.

This magic is a stronger version of > in order of magnitudes, except, it has to be casted very far from the caster or else he'll get caught up by the strong vacuum. Not only that, it can only be invoked where the eyes could only see.

This is why I made sure the dragon was outside my range. If I can't control magic that's outside my range, then I'll make one that can.

“GUARRAAAAAA!!!!”

The moment the dragon's wings and tails get caught up by two different rips, it lets out an agonizing cry.

I can see that this magic is effective against it. However, the magic itself is pretty dangerous. Let's just end this dragon's life to stop the black hole.

While thinking that, I lift my hands and directed it to the dragon. Not only that, I also arranged the blades flying and let it orbit in a cylindrical formation towards the dragon. I did this to amplify my next magic's area of effect and its destructive power.

“You can now, disappear. >”

After I invoked that, the blades orbiting speed increases while an orange orb of pure destruction is charging up in between my hands. It started out as the same size as a basketball, but now it's only has the size of my thumb. This is because the magic is compressed beyond it's limit using the condensing properties from the flux of the magic enchanted blades while it's being supplied with magic. This continues until the magic will stop accepting mana.

Since the magic is pretty strong and high leveled, it needs 30 seconds to charge.

“>”

Clasping the ball of magic power with one hand, I then threw it towards the dragon. I have a good aim while boosted so it's impossible for me to miss.

When the ball passed the first ring of blades, in an instant, the ball exploded to only one direction. And that is towards the dragon.

The explosion kept on growing as it passes to 4 more ring of blades.

With this, even if the dragon is durable, it will not survive a blast with the strength comparable to the sun. If it doesn’t, then I'll just make something even more powerful!

I thought that I have already won this fight, but to my surprise, a voice as strong as the storm's wind echoes throughout the sky.

“DAD, DON'T KILL THE DRAGON!”

At the same time, the sky becomes distorted as my magic got forcibly nullified along with my blades and armor.

After that, a hole appears in the sky. Not only that, something came out from it and not just that, it's really huge.

When it finally got out of the hole, I can finally see it's full shape.

Not only that it's flying, it's made of metal. Judging by the color, it's made of Orichalcum! Moreover, the shape of the flying ship isn't normal and shouldn't existed in this world, it's something straight out of a sci-fi movie!

“What the hell is that thing?!”

The next moment, a magic circle appears in front of me. Judging by the composition, it's a teleportation gate. Few seconds later, someone walks out from it.

This person is human, a female human that's about the same age—no, younger than me me. Not only that, she has outstanding beauty paired with her twin-tailed violet hair. But for some reason, her face reminds me of someone I know. I just don't remember who.

When our eyes met, I readied myself for an incoming attack. But to my surprise, this girl jumps towards me with open arms while wearing an excited look.

“I finally met dad again!”

“WHAT?!”
