《Caves of Gods》11: My New Job

Journal,
Abaddon came for me about two hours that I stopped writing that entry. Abaddon came and told me to walk with him. We walked for some time and then entered a grand dining room. It was gold with a diamond table. The gods were turned into humans. I waved and smiled at Thessaly, his nice, beautiful, sea green eyes.
"Sit," Abaddon commanded. I sat near Thessaly.
"Abaddon you turned Jeffrey into a proper boy?" Thessaly said with an accent mocking a proper accent. I giggled a bit.
"Thessaly!" Abaddon yelled.
"Abaddon," I yelled at him trying to mock him. Abaddon grabbed me by the neck and left me above the table.
"Woah, woah, woah," Thessaly said, "Let him go." Abaddon didn't listen to him and looked at me menacly. Thessaly stood up, came up, and punched him in the stomach. Abaddon let me go.
"Sorry," Abaddon said and sat at the table. I stood up and sat at the table too. The dinner came in by floating. The dinner was roasted ham, pasta, fruits, salad, and bread rolls. I grabbed a giant piece of ham. I quickly ate it. The gods stared at me. Then a grabbed a bread roll which was actually buttered. I grabbed some watermelon and strawberries. I had seconds of bread rolls and ham. Thessaly tried not to stare. I finished my seconds and heard the gods. After all the gods finished, the dishes floated away to what I assume the kitchen. Dessert then floated onto the table. The dessert were cakes and pies. I immediately went for the pumpkin pie. I ate it slowly to try to enjoy it better. I finished eating my dessert before them so, I went somewhere else.
"Wait, Jeffrey, walk with me," Abaddon said. I waited for him. He came to me and we walked. We walked out of the door.

"Aren't you hungry? You just left your dinner." I asked.
"I don't get hungry," he answered.
"I'm sorry," he said, "I'm really sorry. Look you are really important and I can give you all your dreams except one."
"You know my dreams? If you know my dreams then what is the one that can't give me?" I asked.
"I can't bring your mom here," I stopped walking and looked at him, "because kidnapping is against your moral code, but I can let her see her."
"What's my other dreams?" I asked.
"You want to read as many books as you can. You want to see your dad."
"How do you know all of this?" I questioned.
"I can see the deepest desires of people." he answered.
"How can give me this utopia?" I asked.
"Come with me." Abaddon commanded. Abaddon turned right and I walked. We walked for some time. Then we came to a huge door. Abaddon opened it and it was a huge golden library. I opened my mouth.
"This is what you can have if you accept the job, I have for you." Abaddon said.
"What is it?" I asked.
"You have to secure the doors, the axe, and the gems." Abaddon answered, "You get full access to the library and the library has a World Book. In the World Book you can see everything in the world."
"Fine," I said, "I'll accept it."
"Good," Abaddon spoke, "Explore the palace for two days then at dawn in three days, go to an entrance with the axe and gems."
"I will," I spoke.
Journal,
I just finished my first weeks of work. I went to an entrance and found a table with a chair and some candies on top. I ate the candies. They were a mix of caramels and taffies. It was sweet and smooth. I grabbed the purple gem. I threw it in the air and caught it. The purple gem seemed like it was broken. It was anything but, smooth. I played for it so long that it eventually cut me, I put it back in the bag and paid attention to my surroundings. Throughout my time near the doors, I kept thinking about Fiona. I kept asking myself, "How did they get the gems didn't Fiona have them?"

I continued working until Abaddon eventually showed up. Abaddon told me I could back inside. I walked to the library. I eventually learned that I was out there for two weeks. Abaddon gave me three hours to be in the library. I looked for the World Book. I found it and tried to understand how to use it. When you open the World Book the first page you see is a right page. The first page has it written on it, "Who do you want to see? When do you want to see?" I grabbed a pencil from my bag and wrote in it, "Fiona, right now." Words appeared on the page saying to turn the page. The book correctly found her. She was in a cave with Abaddon.
"Am I ever going to talk to Jeffrey?" she asked.
"No," Abaddon answered.
"Are you going to apologize to me?" she asked.
"No," Abaddon answered.
"I want the diamonds back." Fiona said.
"They're Jeffrey's. If you want them, you'll have to kill him." Abaddon said.
"You are terrible people." Fiona said.
"We're not people." Abaddon said. Fiona ran out of the cave. Abaddon held the white gem. He stole them for me. My eyes widened. Abaddon traveled out of the cave. He arrived at back of me.
"Hello, Jeffrey," Abaddon greeted, "Here's the white gem."
"How?" I asked.
"It's one of my powers." Abaddon said and handed me the gem, "Get back to work. Go to the south entrance."
"What south entrance?" I asked.
"The cave on our old island." he responded.
"How many entrances our their?" I questioned.
"Four. The entrances are named after directions." Abaddon responded.
I squeezed the gem. I closed my eyes. I felt wind around me. I opened my eyes when the wind stopped. I was in the same dark cave.
Journal,
My work stopped in two weeks. Then, I went to the library after my shift was over. This happened for two years. I barely went to my room and spent all my time in the library. I put the journal in my room so, that's why I haven't written for a long time. The only thing I've done in the library was watching over Fiona. I've found out I can be a guardian angel for her kind of. I've haven't thought of my dad for a while. I want Fiona to be ok. I couldn't imagine what Fiona must be going through. I still can't believe how Abaddon reacted to Fiona wanting an apology. Of course, she wanted an apology, her best friend, who was like her brother, got killed because of them. I wonder where Thessaly is. I haven't seen him in two years. I'll try to find him. I have to go.

Triquetra: A Multi-Class Isekai or How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Accept the End of the Multiverse
Triquetra: An Multi-Class Isekei Adventure I know, I know, you have heard it all before. Yes I was hit by a truck. Yes I ended up in a Fantastical World suspiciously similar to one of my favorite RPG’s. Yes I had access to cheats no one else possessed. Yes it was a world of classes and levels and magic powers. Finally, yes I was an overweight middle-aged loser failing to live up to my potential. Given my eclectic reading habits I should have been better prepared. Unfortunately I was not. Sure I could multi-class with reduced penalties, but my starting class was Scholar! No combat abilities and very limited spellcasting. My HUD interface costs mana to use, and my universal translation seemed to be outsourced to Giggle Translate. I’m supposed to be an OP MC! Not a slice-o- life struggling to survive in the wilderness. Not to mention the Arch-Magus who summoned me, mistimed everything, I arrived 300 years too late, after the fall of the Empire I was supposed to save. The surviving remnants have devolved into Murder Hobos. What’s worse is that the Great Devourer, Ancient Calamity, and Spawn from the Void Beyond Time, Space, and Sanity is now aware of a new world to plunder, a world called Dirt! (Told you this translator sucks) Warning Extra Crunchy Authorial Vebosity! Lots of infodump in the early chapters, but I learn my lesson and it does get better, eventually. I do not own the Cover image, found it on a free image site.
