《Caves of Gods》7: The Stay in Wales

Journal,

I found out the day today is June 25, 2016. I went to a town square and put up a stand for drawing portraits of people. When I was ten, I was in an art competition and won a hundred dollars. I stopped drawing when I was twelve. A few people let me draw them. There was this bald, round man, these two girls, another woman, and another man. I got paid fifty bucks. An hour later, I went to a cafe and ate lunch. I ate a grill cheese and some fries. I also drank some lemonade. I remembered my dad's grilled sandwiches. They were always burned and terrible. I smiled to myself and kept eating.

I then went to a shop. I got a chocolate. God, when I sank my teeth to the candy, I remembered the goodness of the modern world. Sure, what I ate in the island was nutritionally good but, that artificial sweetness could never be beat. I bought another candy for Abaddon. Abaddon soon found me and told me he found people who allowed us to stay. Before we went, I gave him the candy bar.

Abaddon didn't know what it was and asked, "What is this?"

"It's a chocolate bar." I replied.

"What's that?" Abaddon asked.

"Chocolate is cocoa beans transformed into cocoa butter and cocoa solids that are then combined with other things." I answered.

"Oh," he said. Abaddon open the candy bar and took a bite.

"This chocolate is very good," Abaddon said, "After we eat our chocolate bars, we are going to the place. A lovely family lives there."

"How'd you get the family?" I asked.

"I can summon money whenever I need to." He answered.

"Cool," I said with wonder in my eyes.

I finished my chocolate bar first and then waited for Abaddon. Abaddon is a really slow eater so; it takes a few minutes. Then Abaddon grabbed my arm and runs. I tried to catch up but, at one point I was a doll being pulled by an energetic child. It takes us a few minutes and then we make it. The house that we'll be staying in is a nice little house. It seemed to have five windows at front. It's blue with a red roof. I looked around. The neighbor seems nice. All the houses either have black roofs or red roofs. The houses themselves are either blue or beige. The neighborhood seems to be a lower middle-class neighborhood. Abaddon knocks on the door. A nice-looking couple answer it.

"Oh, hi, Abaddon" the first woman says. The first woman, whose name a later learned, Abigail, had red hair tied up into a bun and kind brown eyes. She is very pale and is more than thirty.

"Hi," the second woman said, "Oh this must be Jeffrey." They both stared at me with small smiles on their faces.

"Yeah, I'm Jeffrey." I said introducing myself.

"Hi, Jeffrey," they said in unison.

"Well, let us show you where you're staying." Abigail said. Abigail went into the house. After a second, the second woman, whose name is Olive, went in. Then we followed to a living room. The living room has two brown couches and a light brown coffee table.

"This is the living room," Abigail sad.

"Cool," I said. Abaddon nodded. Abigail started walking to the hallway. Abaddon and I followed. Abigail stopped at a room with one couch, a desk, and a drawer with six cabinets.

"This is your room," Abigail started, "Here is the couch that can turn into a bed. Here is a desk you can use if want and a drawer for your stuff."

I start to say something, but Abaddon opens his mouth first and says, "Thank you for opening your home to us."

"Your very welcome," Olive and Abigail say.

Olive tells us, "Sorry if our kids go into the room from time to time. They're so young, they can't really understand privacy."

"That's fine," I say.

"Okay, we'll leave you to it." Abigail said and then they left the room.

"I should get some new clothes. Can you summon money for me?" I asked.

"Your clothes seem nice. Why would you want new clothes?" Abaddon questioned.

"They might seem nice but they smell terrible. A year of sweat and stains. Come on, Abaddon." I answered.

"Fine," Abaddon said, "Here's a hundred bucks." Abaddon put his hands into a ball and then separated them. He put his right hand out and two fifty-pound note. I grabbed the money and went into town.

I went to a shop. I got a green jacket, a black shirt, and a pair of jeans. After that, I walked back to the house. I walked for five minutes and then thought someone was watching me. I stared back and saw what looked like a girl maybe one year than me. She looked away from me. I went to her.

"Hi, were you staring at me?" I asked.

"Yeah, sorry," She answered, "Are you Jeffrey?"

"Yeah, how do you know that?" I asked.

"I'm Fiona," she said, "I know that you're here with Abaddon. I know where to find Thessaly."

"Who?" I questioned.

"Abaddon didn't tell you. I thought he would." she stated, "Bring me to Abaddon. I need to talk to him."

"Sure, follow me," I stated. Her and I walked to the house. We got to the house and I knocked. I didn't feel comfortable opening the door. I still don't feel comfortable.

"Oh, hi Jeffrey," Abigail said while opening the door, "You know you can answer the door by yourself. Who's your friend?"

"Yeah, I'll remember," I stated, "This is Fiona, Abaddon's niece that needs to talk to him." That explanation made sense. Fiona had dark brown eyes and dark brown hair like Abaddon. Although her skin is darker but not that darker that it's impossible to be related.

"Oh, okay. Well, come in." Abigail said. Fiona and I went in.

"Does Fiona what anything? Like a drink or snack." Abigail asked.

"Do you have popcorn and soda?" Fiona asked.

"Oh, yes. Cheddar popcorn or caramel? Pepsi or Coco Cola?" Abigail asked back.

"Cheddar and Pepsi thank you very much." Fiona answered. We waited a few seconds until Abigail gave Fiona a bag of popcorn and a can of Pepsi. We walked to the room. Fiona ate her popcorn quickly.

"Have you not eaten for some time?" I asked.

"No, I just eat fast." She replied. I opened the door to Abaddon sitting and reading a book.

"Your Abaddon," she said in shock.

Abaddon looked at her for a minute and then questioned, "Who are you?"

"I'm Fiona and I know where to find Thessaly." she replied.

"Where?" Abaddon questioned.

"Meet tomorrow at the shore of Wales." she stated.

Wait, who's Thessaly?" I chipped in.

"Who we're here for." Abaddon replied.

"You didn't know!" I exclaim.

"No," Abaddon stated.

"What were you going to do if Fiona showed up," I questioned.

"Jeffrey, we know now that's all we need." he stated, "We'll meet you tomorrow at dawn on the shore."

"Okay," Fiona stated. Fiona then left. I still can't believe him.
