《Caves of Gods》2: The First Meeting

Dear Journal,

The following days, I tried to survive. I ate coconuts and fish. I started a small shelter made of wood and tree leaves. The soles of my feet burn. I decided not to wear my shoes. They were heavily wet and I needed them to dry. My socks also needed to dry. They are close to drying and soon I'll wear them once again. I've learned to dry coconuts. There are varies lakes, lagoons, and river that I can use as water sources. I've also learned to make coconut water. They are all nice to eat.

One day though, I decided to explore the island. I only stayed on the northeast section of the island. I thought I could maybe find some other stuff to eat. Crabs, coconuts, and fish are going to get boring at some point. Also, believe or not I've always wanted to try eating a bug or something. I headed to the southwest of the island. I took me a few hours to get there. The island is apparently bigger than I thought. I thought it at most would have taken me two hours.

I got to a dark cave and saw a bright light. The color of that light seemed to be light grey. I walked in there for a minute. Then I heard the noise of a horse. The neigh echoed through the cave. I looked behind me and saw a black horse with a purple mane. I yelled, but then my voice cracked into a higher pitch. It looked at me like I was an alien.

"Who are you?" It asked.

"I'm Jeffrey. Who, what are you?" I asked back.

"Call me, Abaddon," He told me, "Now, Jeffrey do you know what I am."

"No, should I know?" I asked.

"Come with me," he answered.

I followed him as he turned right. We walked for a few minutes and finally saw what intrigued me. It was a scroll with horses on it.

"Grab it, my boy," he commanded.

For me, he was coming off as a jerk. I grabbed the scroll and looked at him. He gave me a look that told me to read it. There were six horses on the paper, and Abaddon was on there. The first horse was a white horse with a faint yellow mane. The second horse was well Abaddon. The third horse was a sea-green horse with a blue mane. The fourth horse was a red horse with an orange mane. The fifth horse had a tan color with a brown mane. The sixth horse had a silver color with a white mane. It was in a language that I couldn't understand.

"What is this to you," I asked.

"Greek, do you know it?" He asked back.

"No, and this isn't Greek. This is ancient Greek. How long have been down here, you hermit." I questioned.

"Hermit? As in hermit crab, as in what I eat?" He questioned me back.

"Do horses eat hermit crabs?" I questioned.

"I am not a horse. I am a god." He responded.

"Okay, you have a messiah complex." I clapped back.

"Child, I look like an animal, yet I talk should you, really doubt me?" He questioned.

"Fair point, so you are god, all of these are gods," I responded.

"Yes, and all of the others are my children and wife," he stated, "Look, I need someone to help me find the other gods and the other scrolls."

"Yeah no," I claimed, "Sorry, I need survive, not die." I started walking out. He slammed his foot on the floor.

"You can survive with me or without me. I need someone!" He exclaimed. I turned back, genuinely scared. My breath turned normal after a few seconds.

"Okay, fine, here, if you help me survive for a year, I'll help if the scrolls," I stated with a scared tone.

"Thank young sir." Abaddon stated and kneeled, "Now, get on." I looked at him for a minute and then got on.

He sprang up and ran outside. He ran so fast I thought I was going to vomit. "Stop!!" I yelled. Abaddon stopped.

"Do, you even know where you are going?" I asked.

"Yes, to your shelter." Abaddon answered.

"How do you know I had a shelter?" I questioned.

"There is no civilization on this island so, you are a castaway." He replied.

"I'll guide you to my shelter. Please go slow." I spoke.

"Okay, where to?" He asked.

"To the north east." I answered.

"Okay," he stated.

He ran to my shelter. At least he didn't run so fast that I wanted to vomit. This time it took Abaddon two hours to get to my shelter. Which is even more impressive because there was a lot of trial and error. He even tripped in a lake one time. Honestly, I think Abaddon didn't know the island that well. Although I may be bad at giving directions. He looked at my shelter thoroughly. I stared at him, only then I realized how big he was. He was all combined at least three me. Well to be fair, I'm actually pretty small and underfed.

"Well, I can sleep in this," he claimed. Then he sat down and went to sleep near my shelter. I went inside the shelter and touched the socks and shoes. They were almost dry and will probably be dry tomorrow or later today. I grabbed my journal and started writing.

I don't know how to react to a god sleeping near me. Believe he is a god? He is a horse that talks, what other explanation do I have? Also, he is on an old scroll that is in Ancient Greek. Speaking of that ancient scroll, I grabbed two flints and started a fire. I then grabbed the scroll and read deeper into the scroll. The scroll is thin and could easily slip out of people's hands. On the down of the paper, it said one out of five hundred. Oh god.
