《Zoomchard: The Battle of Dominance(Cancelled)》8: Football

Stood alone in an open field, frozen to my feet as I glimpsed around my whereabouts spotting faces that weren't open or inviting to smiling at my stance. They stood tall and strong in an eleven 2-2-6 formation, silence overwhelmed the swerving wind that looped around my body and shielded the blood lust that leaked from these opposing sides. I looked down on my feet and gently tapped the round-shaped object dyed in white to my right foot that eventually faced a running player shaded green. My eyes widened as I quickly dashed to an open space and hooked the ball up into the air and watched it curved towards the running player on the right side of the pitch that was a mile away entering the box followed by two aggressive white players that planned on tackling this ball away. The green robot hopped slightly off the ground to grab possession of the ball that bounced in front of him; the green robot quickly sprinted directly to a crouched white robot that stood between two tall poles strongly connected by squared nets. He was very quick and agile with his feet as he tripped one of the chasing defensive white robots that were buff to the brim and tapped the ball between the legs of another to approach the last player.
The crowd that wrapped around the entire stadium remained speeches along with the far-watching players that stood still, waiting to see results come out of this intense moment. As the green player reached the goal, he poked his eyes at the goalkeeper and the net, he did a side-step to knock the goalkeeper off-guard and tapped the ball in. It swam through the air as it floated past the goalkeeper's fingers that desperately tried blocking it with his fingers. But to no avail, the ball bounced off the fingers and slammed into the right pose before falling behind a white-sprayed line. As the ball bounced across the sprayed line, the crowd behind me roared and echoed as they cheered the last-second goal. The stadiums turned into a festival as green smoke filled the air and repeated stomps of the jumping fans, a white player next to me dropped to their knees in stress as a screen hovering over the goal that was just scored in changed the blasting 1-0 to an equalising 1-1.

"On the last second, Ferlise, the beautiful dribbler, saved his team from falling from the Pured City Cup Competition with a wonderful assist from Zoomchard! You can hear the stadium explode in happiness as the overjoyed fans partied in ominous green!" An excited male announcer rang around the stadium.
I patted the shoulders of one of my opposing teammates and hugged it out before heading down a steep hallway as my teammates jumped around in joy as they entered their dressing rooms. After I was finished relaxing and drinking a blue liquid drink to heal my torn limbs, I was greeted by Rey who was blindly smiling at me.
"That was an amazing assist. And to think that I thought you were the most terrible player to be selected on my favourite team, just to prove me completely wrong." Rey chuckled, hugging me the instant she was close enough, I hugged her back and massaged her shoulders for a little bit.
"Never judge too much, eh? I wanted to keep my talent a total secret but we needed to draw." I snickered, being mocked by Rey immediately after.
"Sure, sure. You just got lucky," Rey laughed, dragging out "lucky" with a sarcastic tone.
Since I made a strong decision to stay in this small unnoticed country for a little while longer. Rey begged me to join a professional football team after playing a match with me. She especially wanted me to join Dunji United FC, her favourite team. I kept her request and trained myself a lot and waited for the approval of Dunji United FC - they liked my capability and allowed me to debut in my first match, and that was my debut. The manager of the team thanked me and warmly welcomed me to a relaxed team that all acknowledged my amazing assist that saved them from collapsing. It did take a while to be signed and it took me a while to know the rules, I understand this is the Professional Football Sect that made it clear that powers will not be used and will get the power-user terminated from playing professionally if they ever exploited it. However, there is another Sect that is called Supernatural Psychic Professional Football Sect, that allows people to exploit their powers and my team is aligned with that sect.

My team, Dunji United FC, is in the Arantug League, which is ranked first out of the ten other leagues. So, I'm in a pressured situation where I need to evolve into a decent player or I will put down to another League that would be suited more for me. It's rival is Oreshinton FC and Dunji FC, both in the Arantug League. Although the nation is small in population, it doesn't stop hardcore fans from emerging out of these football clubs and planned fights and do occasionally Derby Hooligan Battles, where at least one or two robots get killed in the massive fist-fight. I saw one of these events occur and it was my team's fans against the Oreshinton fans, and let me say something, it was brutal. These hooligans will pounce on an enemy and punch it around before a weaker enemy falls to the ground to get their attention and invoke them to kick this fan on the ground with around ten others joining in. I, at least, saw eight fans from each side lose their lives due to their love for their football club. They went back and forth on a once smooth street turned into a war zone as furniture was scattered around, bodies lying unconscious in their pool of blood, windows smashed and leftover smoke bombs that covered the air in vibrant colours.
It kind of made me afraid and amazed at the same time, like, robots were going to these crazy lengths to prove their loyalty to a football club even if it involved death. They cheer in loud crowds, paint the dull stadium into their team colour and chant the names of their team while pissing off the other team. My name was chanted in the next match of mine two weeks later. I felt moved and energetic, it led me to shockingly scoring a goal in a one-sided 0-4 match. The fans remained peaceful this time and the streets got lucky.
I wonder what would have happened if we lost.

Hunter called himself an archaeologist, but he was a modern day treasure hunter. Tiyana was a scientist devoted to her craft. They were passionate people, wholly devoted to their work. Neither of them had time for love. Neither of them could resist it when it happened. Neither of them knew that the world would need the two of them to save it from a tyrannical pre-historic overlord, his cyborg vampire paramour, and their army of mindless drudges.Dawn of the Epoch is an epic science fiction novel about dark matter, death rays, nuclear warfare, and the Large Hadron Collider, but it is also a fantasy novel about medieval warriors, alchemy, and ancient gods. Dawn of the Epoch blends fantasy with reality, bringing mythology to life today. It is also an apocalyptic thriller spanning the globe from the Pyramids of Egypt to the heart of Africa to the majesty of the Himalayas. It is an epic hybrid-genre story with intense action sequences, magic, mythology, suspenseful plot twists, countless obstacles for the protagonists to overcome, and an utterly Machiavellian supernatural villain.Testimonials:"Probably one of my favorite books I've read to date. Brilliantly complex, adoringly rendered and quizzically intense. A must read and one I plan to revisit, and share!"- Amgwatts, Wattpad Reader"This has to be one of the most original and well written novels I have had the pleasure to read, on Wattpad and in general. It was captivating, interesting, immersive and above all, fantastic. I was left in awe of the beings, history and world you created. It was never dull, dry or predicable and it was a nice change from what seems to be the ever popular teen romance with vampires or werewolves or 'bad boys that are actually romantic good boys.' In the end it was a very pleasant surprise."-IridescentLies, Wattpad Readerhttp://dawnoftheepoch.weebly.com
