Helicarrier lab, later.
Banner is continuously tinkering with the gamma ray detection scanner on the scepter for radiation. Tony on the his side, looks at at his own monitors, shifting and solving many algorithms and equations.
" The gamma readings are definitely consistent with Selvig's reports on the Tesseract. But it's gonna take weeks to process."
"If we bypass their mainframe and direct a reroute to the Homer cluster, we can clock this around six hundred teraflops."
The two was discussing on how to find the Tesseract. Tony smiled, suggesting to Banner.
"You know, you should come by Stark Towers sometime. Top ten floors, all R&D. You'd love it, it's like the Willy Wonka's chocolate factory for people like you."
"Thanks, but the last time I was in New York I kind of broke...Harlem and didn't the kid that visit the factory end up badly? ." Banner rejected his offer, remembering the tragic past, Tony shrugs.
"Well, I promise a stress free environment. No tension. No surprises."
Suddenly, Tony pokes Banner with a electronic rod shocking him and angered Steve who just walks in on them, shout at Tony.
" Hey!"
" Nothing?" Tony ask curiously toward Banner while staring hard to see a sign of transformation.
"Are you nuts?" Steve said grabbing Tony shoulder.
"You really have got a lid on it, haven't you? What's your secret? Mellow jazz? Bongo drums? Huge bag of weed?" Tony still keeping a straight face.
"Is everything a joke to you?"
"Funny things are."
" Threatening the safety of everyone on this ship isn't funny. No offense, doctor." Steve seriously speak to Tony.
Banner waved his hands.
"No, it's alright. I wouldn't have come aboard if I couldn't handle pointy things."

" You're tiptoeing, big man. You need to strut."
" And you need to focus on the problem at hand and not create more, Mr. Stark." Steve ordered.
"You think I'm not? Why did Fury call us and why now? Why not before? What isn't he telling us? I can't do the equation unless I have all the variables." Tony didn't care though and just keep on making small talk.
" You think Fury's hiding something?" Steve hesitant, asked.
" He's a spy. Captain, he's the spy. His secrets have secrets. It's bugging him too, isn't it?" he said pointing to Banner.
" Uh...I just wanna finish my work here and..." Brucd bobbling with his word.
" Doctor? "
After some hesitation, Banner decided to speak his mind.
" 'A warm light for all mankind' , Loki's jab at Fury about the cube." Banner said, choosing his word.
" I heard it." Steve nod
Banner, pointing at Tony.
"Well, I think that was meant for him. Even if you didn't post that all over the news."
"The Stark Tower? That big ugly..."
Tony gives him a look.
"...building in New York?"
"It's powered by Stark Reactors, self- sustaining energy source. That building will run itself for what, a year?"
" That's just the prototype. I'm kind of the only name in clean energy right now." Tony said proudly.
Banner then continue.
"So, why didn't SHIELD bring him in on the Tesseract project? I mean, what are they doing in the energy business in the first place?"
" I should probably look into that once my decryption programmer finishes breaking into all of SHIELD's secure files." Tony said while taking out his phone.
Steve taken aback by his words.

" I'm sorry, did you say...?"
" Jarvis has been running it since I hit the bridge. In a few hours we'll know every dirty secret SHIELD has ever tried to hide." Tony explained while controlling the device.
"Yet you're confused about why they didn't want you around?" Steve frown asking.
" An intelligence organization that fears intelligence? Historically, not possible."
"I think Loki's trying to wind us up. This is a man who means to start a war, and if don't stay focused, he'll succeed. We have orders and we should follow them." Steve still held on his belief.
" Following order is not really my style nor is it woder boy or Bruce here." it was brush aside by Tony though.
" And you're all about style, aren't you?" word of contempt....
... Hitting one of Tony nerve.
" Of the people in this room, which one is; A. wearing a blue spandex tight outfit that just crawl out from a dungeon, and B. not of use?"
Banner also chimmed in.
"Steve, tell me none of this smells a little funky to you?" After hearing their opinions, Steve takes in the possibility, but as an obedient soldier, he shakes it off.
"Just find the cube." Steve walks out of the lab leaving a few words . Still torn apart by the possibility, he walks away, towards the hull of the ship to find the truth on the matter.
Not noticing, Jay leaning on the wall nearby with a bag of raisin in hand and chewing.

Fallout: Vault X
An original novel set in the Fallout universe, written to be accessible to all, featuring unique people and places. Vol.II. out now Fallout: Vault X tells the story of John. A vault dweller, who spent every day of his twenty five years underground. Like his father, and his father before him. Proud to live in the last remaining bastion of humanity, all that survived The Great War of the atomic age. Hidden deep below the surface of the earth, toiling under brutal conditions. Year after year, decade upon decade. All to expand into the natural cave system the Vault occupied, building for the future. However, John knew what his forefathers did not, that everything he’d been taught was a lie. After finishing school at the age of ten, John received his standard issue pipboy. An arm mounted personal computer, worn by everyone in the Vault. Used to coordinate the relentless pace of expansion, needed to work as an apprentice. To learn the craft that would be his life’s work. A noble calling to ensure a future for all that remained of the human race. A quirk of fate saw John equipped not with the crude, clunky, pipboy model his father wore. That almost everyone around him wore. His looked smaller, sleeker, finished in a jet black sheen. And capable of doing far more than its drab counterparts. The world above had been ravaged by atomic flames, yet life clung to its bones. The Red Valley fared better than most in the century since the bombs fell. The clean water and rich soil protected by rolling hills. All spared from direct strikes, for the most part. Life survived here. Trees spawned from charred ground, misshapen, green leaves turned red. Along with simple crops, grown wild at first, then cultivated by the survivors. The scavengers of the old world were inventive, hardy people. All determined to rebuild in the ruins of a world they never knew. In the decades that passed settlements emerged. They grew, spreading along the valley floor. Reclaiming the pre-war remnants of the once industrialised heartland. Salvaging the robotic wonders of a bygone age to build their walls and work their fields. To protect them in the dark of the wasteland. But such things are uncommon in this world, and the rarer something is, the greater its value. And the worth of pre-war technology had not gone unnoticed. The last, real, power in this world rested in the mechanised hands of The Brotherhood of Steel. Forged from the mortally wounded old world military. The Brotherhood used its access to the weapons made for a conflict no one won to strike out into the wastes. Men and women were equipped with advanced armour, aerial transportation, high grade weaponry. Accompanied by the training, strength, and will, to put them to use. They established chapters and set up outputs far and wide. All dedicated to a single purpose. To ensure the technology left abandoned by its long dead creators didn’t fall into the wrong hands. Namely, any hands that were not their own. This is the world John escaped into. A place of horrors brought forth from atomic fire. A place where survival meant battling against the darkness. Fighting a war each day to get to the next. And war...war never changes
