At his joke, Fury just gives a dismissive glance before closing the file and stand up preparing to leave. Seeing this, Tony ask a question that been bothering him.

"What about that 'Phantom' is he a part of this too?"

This was a logical conclusion, the guy conveniently appeared to save Potts and later he was approached by Fury to invite him to join his super group. It not strange that Tony thought Jay was involved in this somehow.

Nick Fury stops his footstep before turning around to speak, but before he got a chance to answer, a voice cut him off.

"No, I am not"

From behind Tony a tall figure walks out from the shadow, it was Jay who use shadow exchange with a shadow planted on Tony the time he met him.

Fury subconsciously reaches his hand toward the gun on his waist. A cold drop of sweat flow down from his forehead, someone manage to bypass his agent outside, Stark security system and sneak up on him without being detected.

Instantly his threat level in Fury mind went up several levels, despite this, Fury still live up to his name as Director of SHIELD and of the best agent, keeping a calm face.

"Hello Mr. Stark and Director Fury."

Jay greets Tony and Fury without caring for the two shocks. Although he appears calm but the inside he is rubbing his head in annoyance.

He just made an effort to avoid SHIELD yesterday and now he run in with the director of it. Oh, the irony, Jay lament in his head.

Jay just finishes his dinner and then decides to go to Stark place to talk, unexpectedly ran into someone that he doesn't want to meet at all.

Not knowing of his inner monologue, Fury start asking question.

"You must be mister 'Phantom'? What is your purpose here today?"

"Yeah, it rather rude to break in someone house"

Tony also chimed in the conversation.

"Well he did same and I'm here to make a proposition for Mr. Stark"

"A proposition you said? May i know what it is about?"

Fury raises an eyebrow and curiously asks. Jay just turns his head to look at Tony, seemingly asking his permission.

Feeling his glance and thinking for a second, Tony just shrug it off.

"Go ahead, he will hear it through a bug anyway, by the way do you want a drink, and I got a bottle of 1976 Scotch, classic."

Tony while saying selfishly stood up and walk toward the wine cabinet. Jay and Fury, who understand Tony character and his self-centered arrogance, can only helplessly let him do it.

Jay sits down on the sofa with Fury sitting the opposite of him. Fury starts to talk.

"Mr. Phantom, should i call you that or do you want me to use another name"

"My name does not matter; you can use what you please"

"Okay, so Mr. Phantom may i ask what your goal is. Base on your recent activities, there seem to be some disagreement with Wilson Fisk, Kingpin, seeing that over half of the place that you strike belong to him"

Jay: 'Meow meow?!'

I just steal from place that have lots of money, it not my fault that Kingpin is rich! Jay justified himself.

“The Kingpin is one of the strongest forces in New York while you can evade his search for now but can you do it forever?"

Seeing no comments from him, Fury continues to speak.

"So my proposition is simple, I wish to invite you to SHIELD if you are to accept this offer then you can instantly be promoted to a level 7 agent"

Hearing his offer Jay is very surprise, as a level 7 agent is the same level as notable figure in SHIELD like the Black Widow, Hawkeye, and Fury right hand man Coulson. But Jay just shakes his head.

“A very tempting offer, but i will choose to decline,"

Fury was rather disappointed at his answer, Jay is someone who is able to fight the top underground forces of New York, beat the Iron Monger and able to bypass several layer of security and sneak up on him.

Such a talent would be a great addition to SHIELD and possibly even the Avenger initiative.

And it would be easier for him to keep an eye on such a dangerous individual.
