John stared at the three of them with raised eyebrows. What is this? He asked himself, and the system responded.
You have been Challenged by an invading force. To refuse the Challenge will offer your opponents a boon against you, the size of which is determined by their Honor Points relative to your own if applicable. The challenge proposed is a three pronged event. First, a dual of magic where appointed magic users will dual in a provided System space. Second, a dual of the flesh where two appointed warriors will fight using their standard equipment in a provided System space. Third, is a contest of leadership, where the leader of the forces in question, or appointed substitutes will conduct small unit skirmishes against one another using standard equipment in a provided System space.
Reward: Your first challenge! All rewards will be doubled.
Reward: The unconditional surrender of the enemy Invasion, and an opportunity to Invade the enemy through the Connection pillar. Temporary access to the System Building Store.
Penalty for Failure: Loss of control of the region, death of all appointed dualists.
Do you accept? Yes, No.
So, we can stop them from attacking us in another wave, if we win? Because I doubt that Imperitor guy is smart enough to know when his ass has been soundly kicked. He’d try again the second he could conscript enough people. On top of that the system will allow us to go on the offensive. That will make the rangers happy. John thought as he read over the notification a few more times. Are there non-death related options? John asked the System, and it responded.
You may provide your opponents with a Counter Offer that will remove that provision at the cost of 50,000 EU’s to be paid to the System by the participants to unlock the “Resurrection” array. Do you wish to do this? Yes, No.
John selected Yes, and was asked how much of the 50 thousand he wanted to pay for. He looked at his EU count, still slowly ticking up from the micro-fusion reactors in the heart of his fortress. He shrugged and decided he would just eat the cost.
The counter offer was sent.

Good Guy Necromancer
Necromancers are murderous, repulsive, utterly ungodly creatures. And then there's Jerry. Jerry is a novice necromancer who treats his undead warmly, seeks to befriend people instead of harvest their bodies, and doesn't mind cracking a skull or two when needed. He genuinely is a good guy—too bad nobody believes him. Trying to discover his place in the world, Jerry will live great adventures. He will make friends, each unique in their own way, and together, they will travel through a variety of striking environments; from a tiny village, to the land of the dead, to a jolly archipelago, to a kingdom on a beanstalk. To save a world that shuns him, Jerry must stand against a large organization of arrogant, mighty wizards. He strives to become stronger while maintaining his kindness, only to realize that, maybe, gentle hearts make the greatest necromancers. This is the story of a delightful man in a harsh world—full of warmth, action, and wise-cracking bone puns. Chapters are usually 2-3k words, and updates are 3/week: Mon, Wed, Fri. If you're looking for another fun, action-packed adventure, check out Cultivator vs. System by yours truly, available on Kindle, KU, and Audible. But read Good Guy Necromancer first.
