The girl looked to the edge of the cliff, seeing the water rage underneath her.
But looking up, she could see snow and pretty angels with wings as black as night.
“a great chasm, like this one, has opened up within me. winter and blood pours from mine. so much cold blood, bluer than the water below,” The girl muttered.
The boy looked up, seeing no angels or snow, but a blue summer sky.
Below he saw a dry canyon, with drawings from a violent past.
“do you like the cold?” The girl asked.
“no, and i do not see water. this is a canyon my friend.” The boy said.
The boy twitched and began to laugh and laugh.
He could not stop.
The girl stared in fear at the giggling boy.
He scared her.
No one had ever scared the girl.
And the girl screamed, before running and throwing herself off the cliff.
The boy, shocked, began screaming for help.
No one came.
No matter how many cries for help he made, no one ever came.
He looked to the sky, finding that night was upon him.
And yet, he could see stars while snow slowly began to fall.
He looked over the cliff, seeing no body, but a body of raging water.
And he too, jumped off.
He laughed as he fell into the water, before being lifted back up by a dark-winged angel.
“do not follow her, for she does not breathe like you,” The angel said.
The boy was confused by this.
The angel smirked, before flying off into the blizzard.
Snow began to whirl and whoosh around him.
The boy felt cold, but he refused to leave.
He wanted to know where the girl had gone.
Frost began to decorate his face, and he felt tired.

But before he could fall asleep, he heard a sound.
It was like a sweet soft melody, and it was rising over the blizzard.
The boy looked, seeing the girl holding a small box.
She was walking towards him, and yet she was not the same girl.
She was taller, older, and wiser.
The girl had wings of white and she finally came to the boy.
She handed him the box, and flew away.
He saw the handle on the box, and twisted it.
The soft melody played, and once it had finished playing, the summer day had returned.
There was no girl, no boy, no water, no angel, no snow, and no box.
Only a massive canyon caused by a major accident that killed one man and two children and the tune of a crying bird.

8 429Demons Don't Lie
Algier, average human and recent convict, has committed the gravest sin of all: demon slaying. His fate? To participate in the Culling, a battle-royale style tournament that’s televised live to the world, where all the worst criminals go to die. As with all tournaments, a prize is on the line. If Algier survives, he can have any wish granted by the Marquises, the new rulers of Earth following the demons’ invasion. However, there’s little hope for survival in a tournament designed to have demons do the work of the executioner, especially for a human. Demons are stronger, faster, wiser, and more talented than the average human, and, despite his crime, Algier is no demon hunter. Mentally defeated before the tournament even begins, Algier is torn between becoming another demon’s points and fighting on in his dead mother’s legacy. But should he choose to fight, there is one advantage that Algier has that can tip the odds in his favour: Demons don’t lie, but humans can. How to read this story Demons Don't Lie is written from the perspective of an unreliable (lying) narrator. There are many inconsistencies within the story which are placed there intentionally. It's up to the reader to decide what is the truth and what is the lie. Promotion Full quality cover image
8 147Second Patriarch: Rise of the Liu Clan
After the death of his father, Liu Zhu must prevail over his older brother in order to become the Liu Clan's second patriarch and bring his family to glory within Yutian Country. In the process Liu Zhu will come across lucky chances, have brushes with death, and slowly expand his world beyond that of the small country he lives in. NOTE: Currently dropped for various reasons. The short version of why I dropped it is because even the shortest form of my outlining resulted in a main plot of at least 300 - 400 chapters and I messed up massively by directly adapting it from my first attempt at this, which was a choose your own adventure on another website. It did not make the jump well at all imo.

The Long Winter has ended. The Great Spirits are waking once more and their influence is already making a mark on the world. Enter Gord. The seventh son of the chief of the Ashwalkers, he's a bit of a disappointment. Not very tall, not very strong, not very fast. His brothers pick up his slack of course, they love him. But even they can't stop the whispers. Troubled by a power he doesn't understand, he finds refuge in the stories his grandfather tells, of apocalyptic wars between spirits and powerful shamans wielding the forces of nature. Of course, those are just stories of an age long past. The spirits are peaceful now, right? [participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge] ~~~~~~~~~~ My entry for the Writathon, my inspiration was a random idea I had last week and decided to write about. Digimon, but in 10,000BCE. Updates at least twice a week. Cover art by Jack0fheart
8 199Lesser Evil
In a perfect world, an alcoholic, hedonistic, mentally abusive individual like Audry Forge would never coincide with his attempts to stop the extinction of life. But there is no perfect world. There is no other person. Only the lesser of evils. Participant of the Royal Road Writathon challenge - 55k words Author's Note: This is story has been the easiest to write in my time of writing. I thoroughly enjoy it! You may not understand the premise in the first few chapters but need not worry buddy, I've been working ahead. Things will start rolling! I hope you enjoy it. Give me feedback and make sure to share it around! Other Info: Normally I wouldn't put any warnings but this story will be going down a pretty dark path (based on irl experiences) fairly early on. There will not be any overtly sexual content this early but some themes are suggestive. There is profanity. There are references to drugs and alcohol. There are dramatic relationships that I'm trying to base off of real life. There is more of a focus on characters. There will be unpleasant scenes in regards to death, while others will be brushed over. There will also be a fair amount of pop culture references too! Give it a try. You might like my form of storytelling!

I am making this story as a revamp, edit, and transformation of the legendary gamer into something that can be better related to. I have done some work on writing, and also put more work into preparing the introductory thoughts. I will have a bare minimum of weekly updates, but there may be more depending on how much time I have. This story will follow Gregory Jeffrey Drake, a young man whose life is partially micromanaged by his parents, and in time will come to be a powerful character in his own story. For now though, the main focus for Gregory is to grow and find his place in this new world he has been dropped into. Gregory gained a new type of class, and must use it if he hopes to stay alive and make the world a better place.
