《Evolve or DIE !!》Prologue : The Rise Of The Fall

It was another normal day for Tim and as usual, he was overlooking a surgery at the city hospital as the head surgeon even though he was just 28 years old.
He had completed his degree for becoming a doctor at the age of 24 and in 4 years, he was able to gain the respect of his seniors and juniors alike due to his ability to remain calm even in the most difficult and unfavourable situations. As a result, he was given the post of head surgeon by the directors of the hospital.
Tim lived with his parents in a 3 room flat in New York. His parents were very loving and caring and he also loved them very much.
Although, Tim wasn’t so handsome that would make girls go all crazy about him, he couldn’t be considered ugly and had decent looks. He had a broad face, a slightly crooked nose, blue eyes and jet black hair. He was a bit chubby, however his built was good as he was 5ft. 9 inches tall
Just as the surgery on a middle aged man was about to commence, the moderately bright operation theater was lit up so fiercely that it seemed that the sun god had entered the operation theater himself. The brightening of the operation theater was accompanied by an extremely loud sonic boom that shattered all the windows and forced all the surgeons including Tim to close their ears. With his ears closed, Tim went to the shattered window pane to see what was happening outside.
However, what he saw made him dumbfounded and his mouth agape. Thousands of balls of light which appeared like meteors were coming towards the earth at an astonishing speed, none of which could be compared to any less than the bright morning sun. The reason why Tim knew that those weren't meteors was because they were perfectly spherical and unlike the meteors, which are bright due to burning in the air, those spherical balls were glowing themselves.

The bright lights blinded Tim for a second or two before he got hold of his senses and immediately ran for cover under the table where the tools for the surgery were kept. While Tim took cover, the other surgeons and the middle aged patient, who hadn't been anaesthetized yet, ran out of the operation theater because they knew that this was the sign of an impending disaster.
Tim also knew, that at such a time, running out of the operation theater was the better option but somehow, his mind felt that staying here would be the better choice and he couldn’t force himself to get up. After about a good 10-15 seconds had passed, the sonic boom disappeared, but only with dozens of explosion like sounds.
After removing his hands from his ears and heaving a sigh of relief, though he didn’t knew what had happened and wondering about the same, he immediately ran out to grab his cellphone to call someone- police, ambulance, fire department or maybe even his parents- he didn’t knew whom because his mind had gone haywire because of all the sudden commotion.
Just as he picked up his phone, a strange voice resounded in his ears which caused him to drop his phone due to which it broke.
"Good Morning humans or should I say, Bad Morning! *Evil Laugh*
As of today, the earth that you know no longer exists. The earth is now filled with monsters, dungeons and to your rejoice, magic and stats too.
If you wish to survive and live in a world filled with excitement, get stronger and if you don't want to, then you all can bite the dust.
Now you humans only have 2 choices: Evolve or DIE !!"

Polyrhythm Time -- A Bard's Tail
Have you ever met someone who loves what they do so much that they'll skip sleep, food, love and safety to pursue it? What happens if that kind of person encounters a different dimension, yet holds on to their love of music, and specifically of rock drumming. When the world ended at the end of 2057, Kevin Snackenbridge slept through it. He'd been drumming all night. tl;dr-- System eats world -- Monsters and magic ---- LitRpg -- Practice, not levels and stats ---- MC Bard -- support class -- low power ---- MC chooses music over survival skills --tl;dr Kevin trips into the Internal Strength Dimension where Thaumaturgy is king. With the help of a talking plant and several vicious monkeys he learns that the rule is "Change or die." Kevin changes, but remains firmly a drummer/Bard in this high fantasy setting. This is Kevin's adventure, and that of the friends he meets. Kevin has the soul of a real musician. He loves music, specifically rhythm and drumming, and would give his left nut if it would help him drum better. He's a rock drummer, and his language is that of a rock drummer: slanged, duded, and frequently laced with profanity. He focuses on music, and makes decisions that even the author doesn't approve of. However, that means all his decisions are Kevin's decisions, not those of a system-optimizing power-gamer. There's points (All of Arc 2) where he wanders aimlessly. Goals seem foreign to him at points. What would you do if you were a musician, and the world fell apart and you no longer had an audience or band-mates. You'd be kinda lost. Kevin is. Arc 2 is a lot of Kevin not knowing what to do, going with the flow, and not being articulate enough to know that he doesn't know what to do. 1. From the Final World
I have lived a long, long time. Longer than the universe knows; longer than any star has seen or traveling light records. My memories; that is all that is left that knows that length, and that which was seen within it. Then again, that is all that ever did. When I am gone, it will be forgotten, a truth and a history lost forever no matter who or what tries to find it. I think that is why I write this now. A record, or a lament, of the most significant being of all time. It is a prideful exaltation of endless triumph, or the dread condemnation of infinite evil. I don’t know which; I shall leave it for others to judge. I could explain further, of course. I could list the sins that have been committed, the deeds that have been done. Yet for now, I believe this is enough. Her story will speak for itself. About the good, and evil, in the heart of a single girl burdened with more than her fair share. And how she reacted to it. So, I will tell her story. Of gods and devils, mortals and monsters, of legends long forgotten and civilizations long turned to dust. And in the end, I hope she knows herself, whether it is salvation, or destruction, she should receive.
