Fused Hymn blocked the barrage of attacks from Ryuho with his palm, fists and arms. Taking advantage of his body made of fused Orihalcon, Fused Hymn was not gravely injured by the sudden outburst of strength from Ryuho.

“I applaud you for releasing a power that is beyond your capabilities, Dragon Saint.”

“However, you will not be able to defeat me unless you unleash the true power of your sword.”

“Dual Element Pawn Warrior Punch!”

Fused Hymn imbued his fist with two of the most powerful spells in his arsenal, Begiragon (firebolt) and Ionazun (Explosion). This caused his fist to have an explosion effect upon impact.

As the battle progressed, Ryuho’s efficiency in wielding the Legendary Sword Excalibur increased. He was doing much better compared to the first time he slashed at Fused Hymn. However, he was still unable to emulate the full power of Excalibur which can execute a more powerful quadruple slash.

“Still not enough!”

“Burn! My Cosmos!”

Fused Hymn realized that he is getting hurt as the battle goes on. The strength in each of Ryuho’s slash was getting fiercer, and cracks appeared on his Orihalcon body after a dozen breaths.

“You are a worthy adversary, Dragon Saint!”

“However, one of us must prevail in this battle.”

“I will stake everything in this next attack.”

“If you are able to survive, then it’s your victory.”

“Otherwise, your fate and the fate of those three that you are trying to protect will be the same as Hadlar!”

Fused Hymn charged all of his power and the power of the other 4 pieces of Orihalcon essences that he absorbed from the other Guardian Knights. He is imbuing all of the said power in his right fist as he readied his ultimate technique.

“I’m sorry, my brethren.”

“I know it will be a burden to all of you 4.”

“But I must ignite all of our essences and defeat the enemies in front of us!”

Ryuho’s eyes were calm as he stared at the incoming attack. Inspirations flashed in his mind as he managed to catch a glimpse of his Father, the former Dragon Bronze Saint Shiryu, on how to wield Excalibur to its fullest.

“Father! Thank you!”

“I know I will win!”

As if responding to Ryuho, a bright golden luster suddenly enveloped the Dragon Bronze Cloth that he is wearing. A powerful Cosmos radiating the power of Omega (8th Sense) suddenly filled the surroundings. Wings sprouted on the Dragon Bronze Cloth and it changed its form to the next level, the Dragon Divine Cloth.

“Sacred Sword Excalibur!”

“Seiken Ekusukaribā!”

“God Slaying Slash!”

A violent ripple echoed out in a 10 mile radius as Excalibur met with the Orihalcon Fist. With the strength of Omega, Fused Hymn’s fist seemed like tofu as Excalibur, dyed in red, presumably Ryuho’s blood, cut him into multiple pieces after the split-second encounter. A mushroom cloud explosion can be seen by the people of the Imperial Kingdom as fierce gales and violent dust storms were caused by the aftermath of the clash of powers.

Ryuho’s right arm had a long cut, purposely inflicted by him on himself. This wound led to his release of a lot of blood, which powered up Excalibur. His God Slaying Slash is equivalent to the God Slaying Arrow of the Saggitarius Gold Cloth and it can also be infused with Athena’s Cosmos just like the GSA.

Ryuho fainted right away after causing a 10 meter deep trench on the focal point of the clash. Dai and Hyunckel, having both recovered consciousness, dragged their weary bodies towards their comrade with the help of Leona. Fused Hymn was totally disintegrated as his Orihalcon Body failed to take the brunt of the God Slaying properties of the Sacred Sword Excalibur.

“We need a stronger Heal Spell.”

“I can only stabilize his condition for 24 hours.”

“We need Sapphire’s Saint Heal.”

Leona used his Mass Levitation Spell on the three weakened Heroes and Saint as they hurriedly retreated back to the defensive line established in the outskirts of the Imperial Kingdom.

Meanwhile, Kuro and the 1st Division of the Yin Yang Corps were engaging Flazzard, Zaboera, Raimi and Cube.

“The battles of Dai, Hyunckel and Ryuho have already concluded.”

“It’s a little difficult to engage Zaboera and Flazzard as they are using their forces as cannon fodder.”

“We could have finished them off if they chose a direct confrontation.”

“Let’s go, Steel Saints!”

“Group into 5 and do not stop the rain of Steel Saint Bolts!”

Despite being outnumbered, Kuro’s outstanding leadership allowed them to break out of the encirclement. Zaboera and Flazzard harassed them from time to time, while Raimi and Cube were the ones responsible in deploying the Undead against them.

Souma and Pop’s spells and techniques pushed back around 300 Undead. This allowed the Steel Saints a breather for a dozen breaths as they maintained their formation.

“Slowly retreat while maintaining formation!”

“Souma and Pop, stay at the rear for now and recover your power.”

“Let me take some load off the Steel Saints.”

“Yin Yang Symbol, Coalesce!”

Kuro’s attack which showcased his Half A Step Eight Sense cosmos destroyed around a thousand Undead, however, he was unable to harm Zaboera and Flazzard as the latter two chose to wear them down.

“Priests, please support the Steel Saints!”

“Vampire Hunters, ready your crosses!”

“Maam, a little help on the right flank.”

“Souma, now!”

Souma, who has recovered some of his cosmos, ignited it once again.

“Lionnet Flare Storm Bomber!”

Several notifications rang on the minds of the 1st Division of the Yin Yang Corps.

“Ding!”

“Yin Yang Corps 1st Division!”

“Congratulations on defeating half of the attacking undead.”

“Teamwork has levelled up!”

Kuro was expressionless upon hearing the notifications as he was focused on giving out commands to the troops.

“I hope we can hold out until the reinforcements come.”
