《Observation Log Of Miss Miner》Chapter 39: Iron Wing Insect Tribe (Part 3) End

"A-another one!"
Exclaimed Yi Feng as he saw those monsters cutting through his living waves of iron winged insects like hot through butter.
With each crackle of lighting of the big lance-like thing mounted on the head of the monsters, another chunk of his kins were reduced into nothing bigger than ashes.
But Yi Feng knew it was far from over.
Those monsters' true power was not limited as this, even if he only fought against them for a few hours, his fighting experience and instinct were screaming in his head. He knows there is more.
"What other powers do these strange enemies have!?"
Yi Feng could only continue to observe these new two-legged giants. He saw how many different weapons the smaller ones had. The big ones should have more ways to attack than that thunder lance on the right side of its big head.
But at the same time, a small part of Yi Feng's soul hoped he was wrong this time.
Sadly there was no heaven to make Iron Winged King's small wish true, as he saw two small arms under the bigger one's large head aiming towards his kins.
Thanks to his powerful vision, Yi Feng saw many holes, equivalent in size to an adult man's palm on those arms.
*TRRR*
A weird sound rang out. It was the strange buzzing sound one might expect from a flying bee.
Then he saw another group of his kins drops on the ground, with their bodies full of holes, as if an invisible hand cleanly perforated them and took a chunk of their body.
But Yi Feng's nightmare didn't end here, as he could see another part of that big's ones begin to move.
This time it was a large square box on the left of the big moving enemies, that aimed above everything and began to send weird-shaped flaming arrows.

"What the!?"
*HSSS!*
The arrows exploded in mid-air, releasing many bright sparks of fire, showering everything in the area, turning it into a literal sea of flames.
Yi Feng was confident of his kin's resistance towards flames, but he observed the gruesome scene, he could only cry at his kin's proud armored carapace melting away like wax in those hellfires.
It was no longer a conflict against those giants. It became a one-sided massacre.
He must escape!
At least he could escape from this hellish place!.
Yi Feng must escape now from that soulless hellspawn. He moved his head and observed the large locusts troup, with humanoid figures standing near him. All hundred of them held various weapons on each of their four arms, and donned thin silk-like armor with a silver shine.
Those are his trump card, the Iron-Winged Disciples.
Yi Feng has carefully grown them from the best human hosts, where he planted his best seeds. Each of them has Qi Grandmaster rank warriors, and were equipped in the highest mortal grade weapons and armors.
Along with the Iron Winged Tribe's innate strength and resilience, those were his personal bodyguards who could contend against even the lower Qi Spirit realm masters.
But today, he must give up his pawns to live another day. He could rebuild his nest again, no matter how long it would take.
"Stop those monsters!"
Yi Feng gave his last order to his 50 iron-winged disciples and ran away with the other 50, while destroying his tunnel.
While running away, Yi Feng also checked how long his disciples fared against those monsters.
"YES!"
Word of joy escaped from his mouth, seeing his disciples rushing towards those giants and being able to stop the arm weapons with their armor.
Their armor is not absolute, as some carelessness still led to a few of their ranks being dealt by those tubes, but that was an acceptable casualty for Yi Feng.

His celebration was cut short by the roaring sound of the beast coming from the tunnel.
Following the sound through the eyes of one of the half-dead Disciples, he saw a thing that could only be described as a Behemoth.
It was a giant monster that was as big as two of those lesser ones, stacked on top of each other. And unlike the others, it moved by using a large thick chain and wheels, flattening anything unfortunate to be on its path into paste under its weight.
And it is surrounded by a lightning field that was killing his kins before they could touch its body.
But the thing that made Yi Feng lose his heart was more than this behemoth's sheer size, and impenetrable armor is weapons it has.
Unlike its small ones who possess only three or four weapons, the monster that appeared from the tunnel had at last 14 of them, and 5 of them were as big as the small monsters.
With the rumbling sound of rock turning into the dust under its thick treads, the black beast slowly moved towards what was left of his nest and the survivors.
"Uuumnnn~~."
Witnessing the grim view, a small whimper escaped from Yi Feng's human mouth as he could only watch the black beast turning its side toward the survivors of his nest and aiming all 12 of its brutal weapons.
The last thing he saw was his Disciples and his kins placed on some kind of altar made of unknown metal, arranged in rows in the silver room.
In front of the few survivors stood a pitch-black monster, with a head made of many shining pulsating red eyes, and millions of needle-like arms.
Followed by a cold monotonous voice.
"Beginning Examination."
Then everything turned into darkness.
From that day and for the first time, the Iron Winged King felt what the people of the past feelt when they faced him. And he gave an oath to himself to not go underground anymore, giving a warning to his kins.
As for the others?
He decided not to give any news to others.
Why should only his kins should suffer under those monsters?
One could say the Iron Winged Insect King wanted others to suffer the same fate as him. But he didn't know that it was only the beginning of a bitter relationship, between him and this black behemoth...

This story is written in third person limited POV. That means you can expect to know many of the thoughts and inner dialog of one character, and only see the actions of other characters. This POV does include scenes without the main character, and thus the reader can and will know things the main character does not. Further, this means characters act on what they know, which is almost always less than the reader knows. Something else to know. These books do not hold your hand. If you're reading it and thinking "Gosh, why aren't 'they' doing some 'obvious' thing." Bad news. You probably missed something that explains exactly that. If you're seeking a light read that doesn't ask much of you as the reader, you're invited and very welcome to come on in, but this might not be the story for you.

The Systems of the Multiverse - A Guide for the Multiversal Traveler
The Systems of the Multiverse have their issues. I, an observer from outside the multiverse have made it into my mission to tell you, the multiversal traveler about those issues and dangers. This is a relatively low effort NaNoWriMo and Writhathon project. I want to test myself if I can manage 55k words in a month, likely updating every single day until the end. This story is told in the form of an in universe book. Well, I say story... While this definetly won't be great, I still hope it will be enjoyable. I do my best to avoid grammar mistakes and spelling issues, but won't promise anything. Corrections are welcome, this is also an excercise to improve my writing from a technical standpoint. Not from a worldbuilding and character standpoint however, for that you need time. Oh, the keyboards (and computers) that the observer destroys are not real and only exists in story to have an excuse to easily end this story at the end of NaNoWriMo. I also personally like reading LitRPG stories, so this isn't meant to hate them. It might come over that way, but many of those issues are simply fun to think about: what would really happen if the world is so, seen through a lease of negativity :-) [participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge]
