Chapter 20 - State Of Dryington

Li Qu had appeared in a secluded alleyway and strolled to the main streets of the State Of Dryington. Which was named after the first ever Mei Country President, George Dryington.

Dryington had tall skyscrapers everywhere one looked. A person would feel like an insect in a forest with tall trees that the top could not even be seen as it was too high up.

Li Qu took in the futuristic scenery as he glanced at the streets filled with people that were dressed fashionably and rows of luxurious branded boutiques that had branches throughout almost every country on Earth.

'It truly is appalling! Those closeted perverts of Black Heaven would treat Earth like their paradise with women wearing so little everywhere.'

Li Qu had received a minor culture shock when he first arrived at New Yolk's Hua Town, Hua Country girls were slightly more conservative in their dressing, that was why he did not really bother to comment.

But when he saw these scantily clad women here in Dryington, he realized that the open-minded Mei Country ladies were on another level. They were just like those vixen spirits in the forest trying to seduce cultivators in order to suck their life essences from Black Heaven.

As compared to the multiple and thick layered robes made of silk that Celestial Maidens and Fairies always wore, sometimes with a veil covering their faces to avoid getting in trouble due to their looks, it was truly a culture shock now.

"Wahh! Hey Bro, look at that guy! He's so good-looking! Do you think he's an actor from Hua Country?"

A young girl walking on the streets spotted Li Qu as she admired his looks and asked what looked like a bodybuilder beside her, a question all men that liked to dress up would dream to hear.

"That sissy looking guy? Psssh, true handsomeness is in the muscles! And he isn't even an Evolver! Sis, your taste in men is not that good! Look, this is the true way of men!"

The tanned bodybuilder proceeded to then raise both his arms and flexed his biceps that looked rock solid. He could not detect any power from Li Qu and thought of Li Qu as a non-Evolver.

"Ehhh brother, you're all muscle and no brain. You won't understand how a girl feels. That's why you don't have a girlfriend yet!"

The girl gave her musclehead brother a look of disdain and roasted him.

It was lucky that he was already tanned.

The pair of siblings joked around while entering a nearby boutique called Shernell that sold expensive luxury goods such as clothes, bags and accessories.

The brand 'Shernell', was an international icon, with their own fashion runway shows and numerous celebrities endorsing their brand.

There were many such brands as well with their own unique designs and trademarks, a few notable ones were Gooci, the brand of the sundress that Xia Qiu had worn, Lui Buton and Airmez.

Li Qu shook his head and chuckled, he then proceeded to enter Shernell a short while after the pair walked into the shop, seemingly trying to find someone in the store, when a saleswoman working there walked up to him with shining eyes.

"Welcome to Shernell, Sir. May I know what you are looking for? I'll help you find the design you want!"

Shernell had taught their staff members very strictly not to judge a book by its cover. Even when a 'poor-looking' person with tattered clothes were to walk in, they should still greet them with a smile.

It was because there were some rich people who had read too many books that contained face-slapping scenes, and they would dress as a homeless person to act as a wolf in sheep's clothing and imitate those scenarios.

They were ready to pounce with any given chance at a salesperson to give them the face-slap of their lifetime were they to doubt their spending abilities.

Unfortunately, in the real world, this scene would not really happen. Each staff member was as professional as they could be.

Furthermore, Li Qu' Huatang's outfit looked way too handsome on him, attracting looks from people that were shopping as soon as he stepped in.

"You do not need to bother me. I am just looking for someone."

Li Qu gave a small smile and walked right past the disappointed Shernell saleswoman that wanted to assist him as he detected a person that looked like he was in his 50's, wearing a business suit in a VIP room using his Spiritual Sense.

Li Qu walked to the direction of where the VIP room was located, and just when he wanted to reach for the handle to open the door, his hand was suddenly intercepted by a thick arm.

A bodyguard dressed in a black and white suit with black sunglasses raised his arm quickly to block Li Qu from entering as the bodyguard saw where Li Qu's hand was approaching.

"Apologies Sir, there is an important guest in the VIP room right now, I can't let you enter even if you're a Shernell VIP. Please wait till the guest is done shopping first or shop in the general area."

It seemed like the bodyguard was not employed by Shernell, but the businessman in the VIP room.

Li Qu's smile was still hanging on his mouth as he accidentally leaked a bit of killing intent from being blocked by an ant as he said a single word without even looking at the bodyguard.

"Move."

'This person is dangerous!! I can't let him go in! W-Why can't I move! F*ck!'

The 2nd Genepool Phase Revolver bodyguard's senses were screaming for him to run away, but he was frozen in place due to the killing intent affecting his body.

The bodyguard's brain did not detect the killing intent, but his body did, and it was reacting in instinctive fear from an apex predator and had chosen to freeze up to pretend that it was dead.

Wild animals had this trick instilled in their bodies. It was something they often used to escape detection from their predators as the predators only enjoyed hunting prey that was still alive.

Now, it seemed that this response was a natural reaction from the bodyguard's body as he could only watch in fear of Li Qu entering the room with his eyes and could not do anything.

"Brother, look at that guy from just now! He can even enter the VIP room! When we wanted to enter, that bodyguard blocked us, but now he had let that hottie enter!"

The girl had spotted Li Qu yet again just when he was entering the VIP room when the door was closing. She was filled with curiosity about the identity of the handsome young man.

"Shhh! Don't bother my shopping, I'm already in a bad mood from being barred from entry by that black clothed b*stard. That girly guy must be that 'important guest's' son or something"

Replied the bodybuilder as he did an air quote action when he mentioned the important guest, it was apparent he was filled with dissatisfaction.

He himself was well known in the bodybuilding world with hundreds of thousands of followers in his social media. When had he experienced disrespect like that?

He had no choice but to suck it up as the bodyguard was too powerful and someone who could employ such an expert would had to come from a considerably significant background.

When Li Qu entered the VIP room, everyone in the room glanced towards his direction and wondered who it was that the bodyguard had let through.

"Little brat, you should know who I am from your investigation, no?"

Said Li Qu teasingly as he eyed the matured-looking businessman in front of him.

"You are… Li Qu?! Why are you here?"
