******* Queen Thea's POV *******
King Carolus quickly left the room after the meeting saying he needs some fresh air.
Arthur also left chasing after him saying he needs to talk to him.
King Carolus is really a strange person.
This is the first time I saw him without his armor on, I was stunned along with everyone in the room.
I have been in court in the kingdom for a long time and have seen what considered the most beautiful faces in the world but they are nothing compared to him. He also has a hair color of the sun which is hard not to stare at. He wears strange clothing but I can see even from a distance that it is well made.
I was having trouble communicating with him at first since he doesn't talk for a while and I was starting to worry that he is probably really angry but I was shocked when he finally speaks.
The first thing he asked after resting from his battle is about my injured people. I thought he will be furious about us intruding in his castle and about the human and monster invasions but I can't believe he just let the matter go and was very concerned about my people.
The bottles he gave us is also really strange.
At first, I was hesitant to give this to the injured since we don't what it is but he said they are regenerative potions so I ordered it to give to the most injured.
It was really effective.
They fully recovered in only one hour after drinking. It is a miracle drink. I haven't seen anything like it. It is a lot better than the witches and warlock selling in the market.
They are still 4 bottles left and the general suggested that we keep it since he gave it to us but I ignored him since King Carolus has already done a lot to us and I'm not going to abuse his kindness.
I also begin talking about paying him for all the things he has done but he just flat out rejected all my offers about emeralds, lands, and resources. He just asked to escort Arthur and his people back to his home. I told him that their village is fully destroyed but he just casually said that he will provide resources to rebuild it along with all the villages that got destroyed by the Kingdom of Xaerin.
I don't know how to reject his offer since it is a really good deal.
I still have a lot of questions to him but I just stop myself.
"What do you think?" I ask everyone in the room the moment the door closed shut.
"I don't know, my queen. I can't find any malice or motive behind his words so he probably meant all of them." The general quickly answered my question but he only increases the number of questions in my head.
I have so many doubts but I just let them go since we are lucky that we are still alive and King Carolus didn't demand anything from us and even offered to help us.

But I still can't let my guard down.
No one in this world who is this benevolent.
******* Arthur's POV *******
I quickly followed King Carolus the moment he walked outside the map room to talk to him.
He is walking towards the stairs to the roof.
He saw me quickly walking behind him and he nodded his head once to me and keeps on walking.
That gesture probably meant that he wants me to follow him to the roof.
I just followed him without saying a single word.
After reaching the roof, we stand on the corner facing west.
I wonder why he does this every morning?
I stare at him while waiting for him to speak first but a moment has passed, there is still silence.
"King Carolus, let me first say that I apologize for..." I started to speak first to start explaining but he raised his hand to stop me.
"I believe that conversation was already done in the meeting." He just casually said.
I can't believe it.
I know that he let a lot of matter go but what I did is so wrong.
I just let intruders in his home without his permission and even gave them permission to use his resources.
I was about to protest and ask him to punish me but I just stayed silent.
"Arthur." I can hear King Carolus speaking after a while.
"Yes, your majesty." I quickly replied.
"I have something to do in the basement and I need your help for it."
"Is this about the zombies?"
He turns his head to face me and then nodded his head.
I remembered him saying about curing zombies.
At that time when he explained that to me, I didn't actually believe him but from all the things I witness him do and the things he knows, I don't have doubts about him now.
I quickly agreed to help him.
After standing in the roof for a while, we started walking to the basement.
After reaching the prison room, I quickly opened the door for him and can see that they are already 3 zombies moaning and groaning in the cells.
"How many people know about this, Arthur?" King Carolus asked me the moment we are inside the room.
"Only me, Peyton and a handful of my people but I can assure you, your majesty, that the information will not leak. I swear it in the name of the Goddess."
"What about Queen Thea and her people?"
"I didn't allow any of them in the basement and just gave them access to the first floor and some areas of the second floor."
He turned quiet again and just continued staring at the zombies.
He started walking to one of the cells and opened it.
I was shocked about what he is doing but I just calm myself since I'm confident he knows what he is doing.
The zombie quickly got out in his cell and started walking towards King Carolus.
This zombie is the same zombie I first saw the first time I came into this room.

I can see something in King Carolus hand and before I can identify what it is, he quickly threw it to the zombie.
I can see something breaks and a liquid is splashed in the zombie.
The zombie then started to become weaker and his movement became sluggish and slower.
King Carolus quickly moved his hand towards the zombie's open mouth and shove a golden apple inside.
The zombie then drops on the floor screaming and gasping for air.
I don't know what is happening since King Carolus didn't explain anything but I just prepared my spear just in case.
King Carolus just keeps watching the zombie with a calm face and just patiently waiting.
******* Carolus' POV *******
Okay.
I can see the zombie crying in pain and most likely is about to die.
I don't know if this is a normal thing when curing a zombie in this world or I just did something wrong.
After talking with Queen Thea and his people, I quickly leave the map room and head to the roof for air.
I suddenly noticed Arthur chasing after me so I decided to let him follow me since I'm also thinking about doing the zombie curing and I want someone to help me with this in case something goes wrong.
I didn't want to waste any more time since I don't know how long before this zombie villager turns into a permanent zombie.
There is something wrong though.
In the game, a zombie that is being cured just emit particles and just shakes for a while before turning into a human but this right here is like a muriatic poisoning.
I was about to equip my sword to end his suffering when suddenly he stops moving.
Damn.
Did he finally die?
I was about to approach the body to check and see what happened when suddenly it begins to glow.
The greenish skin is starting to fade.
After a moment his eyes slowly opened and I can see that it is still the same when he was still undead. Clear and still human.
The zombie features are all gone and there is a normal human being lying on the floor now.
"What? What happened?" I can hear the fully cured human talk.
He sounds weak but I suddenly noticed something.
"You sound like a woman." I suddenly voice my thoughts which I quickly regretted.
"I am a woman!" She suddenly shouted at me and she quickly gets up on her feet.
"Careful with your tone. You are in the presence of..." Arthur started talking and I quickly raised my hand to stop him saying some nonsense things like I am King or something.
She is really cautious and she maintained her distance from us.
I don't really know what to do now.
I didn't think this through.
I was about to start speaking when suddenly she equipped a weapon on her hand that looks like a dagger and charged at me.
Her movements are so fast for a human but she is not fast enough.
I just grab her hand with my left hand as the dagger about to touch my neck.
I also grab Arthur's spear with my right hand as it is about to pierce the woman's head.
'Why does everybody in this world resort quickly to violence?'
The woman tried to pull back her hand but she can't since I'm a lot stronger than her.
I also release Arthur's spear and glare at him.
He quickly lowered down his weapon and took a step back.
After a moment, I release the woman's hand since she is about to use her left hand to attack me.
She quickly distanced herself again and held an eye of ender in her hand while still holding tight on her weapon.
Wait.
Don't tell me.
She pointed the eye of ender to me.
The eye of ender then breaks into pieces until it turned into dust.
Her eyes quickly widened.
Oh no.
What is she seeing?
I haven't tried the eye of ender to myself so I don't know what informations she is reading right now.
I didn't expect anyone in the overworld to have this item so it is on the bottom of my list of concerns.
My carelessness and stupidity are now back full force.
"You... you..." She started to speak after a moment and all of her aggressiveness is now gone and replaced with so much shock.
"Your age... No... You have lived for a long time. Why I haven't known you? You are not written in any history books or in any spoken tales."
She started talking things that I don't understand.
She then drops her dagger on the floor and charges at me.
Arthur was about to get in between us when I motioned him to just stay back.
She quickly grabs my shirt with both of her hands and I can see so much anger in her face.
"You have the Goddess's gifts bestowed upon you. Where were you?"
"Where were you when the three great monsters ravaged this world?"
"Where were you when the Kingdom of Aezeokar is almost destroyed from defending mankind from monsters?"
"Where were you when the four heroes decided to fight the ender dragon by themselves and all of them died?"
"Where were you when the world needed you the most!?"
A barrage of questions quickly came out in her mouth.
She also started crying while furiously trying to shake the answers out of me.
This is my first time having a woman crying in front of my face.
I know I have to be considerate or something but what on earth is she talking about?
'What goddess's gifts is she talking about?'
'What three great monsters is she talking about?'
'What kingdom of something defending the world with something is she talking about?'
'What four heroes fighting ender dragon then dying is she talking about?'
'And most importantly, what is she talking about the world needing me the most?'
I also asked a barrage of questions in my mind.
