《181: Dark Vision》The investigation

According to evidence from hotel staff and passengers next to room 303, Monika Zaoralová is a woman with an oval-shaped face. Her eyes adhere to the description of the staff at the reception. It is grey or black. She constantly tries to cover it behind her shiny blonde hair. Upon entering the hotel, Monika wears a black hoodie and a pair of jeans of the same colour, covering her face with a mask. The luggage she was carrying was not much, just a small suitcase and a blue backpack.
She has contacted no one and hasn't even stepped out of the room during her stay in the hotel for four days. Monika wasn't even seen in any of the dinners neither she attended any of the special events of the hotel, lounges, or, the swimming pool. Instead, she had asked the staff to bring her food to her room.
Besides, Monika kept complaining laxly regarding the security in room 303 every time the staff brought her meal to her. According to the hotel's report, room 303 always used electricity. Especially the bathroom lights, desk lamp and other purposes are unknown
But why? Why was she murdered so cruelly? What is she afraid of? Is the security in 303 lax, like Monika said? If the culprit killed Monika like that, the blood must splatter on his clothes. But why can't I find any blood outside the room, even if it's just a drop?
An organized murder? It's possible. The culprit probably erased all the tracks after the crime and left the hotel with a secret path that the camera couldn't detect. But he could also plan on killing the victim which requires time. This might suggest that a culprit is an experienced man in killing. Four days would not be enough for a beginner to make such an elaborate plan. And there's no way a beginner can kill Monika in a short time. Especially when the time of the crime is determined to be midnight. Room 302 and 304 had guests still asleep so the killing must take place in silence. The weapon is considered a long, hard object.
However, the police still cannot determine what it is, just knowing that it broke the victim's skull and distorted the forehead. But one thing the police and I are sure of is, the culprit knows the details of every step and what he's doing.
Evidence like this is not enough, they need connections to connect with each other to create a complete picture of what happened to Monika. For now, there are more questions than answers to this murder. Who is the killer and why has he been so experienced? Is he a serial killer? Why hasn't he been wanted by the police force yet? And is it true that he did this crime by himself? These questions just came to mind. I bit my nails and look at the board. Lots of information, but nothing.

But there's something else I can't ignore. Why did Savannah send us to a crime scene? Although it's a very special case and the MSPD's officers are here, this is not a part of VSIU's mission. I asked Louis about this, but he didn't answer and started the investigation. But it felt like Louis and MSPD had made a deal with each other and hid something from me. But I'm sure he also wondered why Savannah was doing this. Louis sometimes makes me angry, but I can't do anything because he's the one who knows me better than anyone, and so am I. Honestly, I never thought it would be someone other than Mari to know me so well and become good friends.
Because I was absorbed in thinking about other things without paying attention to my work, I didn't notice that someone came into the room. And when I turned around, I realized it was Lieutenant Igor looking at my board:
-" U-Uh… L-lieutenant?" I stuttered.
Igor took a sip of coffee and looked at me. "Not bad, young man. Although the evidence isn't much, for a new person like you, I'm quite impressed." Igor complimented.
-"O-oh, u-um… Thank you, I guess?" I try to reply normally since I'm a little scared.
Igor: "But who are you, by the way? You're not from here, are you?" He frowned.
-"Um no, I'm not from here indeed, I'm from Yonar unit."
Igor was very surprised which is normal for me when I tell someone I'm from an anti-terrorist group. "Yonar?"
-"I'm not lying."
Igor: "I do trust you, but I'm surprised because I have never met a VSIU member before. And the guy who is now examining the body, is he from VSIU as well?"
-"We are in the same team."
Igor: "Ah, that's unique," he smiles and looks back at the board. "So, did you find anything yet?"
I looked at the board for a moment and sighed. Took me a moment to find my voice.
-"Not much, just knowing that Monika consumed a lot of energy drink in one night. And the evidence is so fragmented, I couldn't find any connection between them."
Igor reflected for a moment and nodded his head slowly. "You are right. But good news, the police have just found additional evidence."
I looked at him and waited for the good news, hoping to connect it together, even if it's the smallest. Igor looked at the black book in his hand before telling me about the evidence:

Igor: "The victim didn't speak cryss fluently and after investigating further, according to the testimony of the hotel staff at the bar. It was found that someone stalking her created a lot of trouble for the hotel staff in communication."
I thought Igor's words would give me hope, but it only made things even more confusing. A person who isn't fluent in Cryss is understandable, is it not an easy language and not everyone can speak fluently. I also have to spend a lot of time learning how to communicate in this language. I looked at the sergeant and tipped my head a little.
Igor: "Evidence like this is still not sufficient to confirm whether Monika was a foreigner who asked for his Cryspus passport."
Foreigner? Haven't thought about that theory. I grimaced, took the victim's passport and reconsidered it. The information, the smallest details on the passport. It's all look real:
-"This is totally a new passport, the place where it's licensed is the capital of Vitsyetka itself. 1 week before Monika died."
Igor: "This is just my guess, but it's hard to tell if the victim is a foreigner or not."
-"That could explain why Monika couldn't speak Cryss to the staff. But if Monika was really a foreigner, then where did she come from?" I wondered.
Igor: "We can't answer this question. But all foreign nationals, if they wish to apply for Cryspus citizenship, must go through citizenship education and have to pass the exam before getting the essentials papers."
Citizen Education Program for Immigrants, as know as CEPI. The length of the program can range from three months to a year, depending on how long it would take them to pass the exam and their knowledge of the Cryss language, culture, etc. I remember early days when I set out to Cryspus with my family, my parents were required to join the CEPI program. My father and mother knew that they would be involved in the program, therefore they've taken part in basic Cryspus classes at homeland before going to Cryspus. Since they had the F1 and E1 certificates, which mean they knew the Cryspus alphabet, can make short, simple Cryssian sentences and listen to a conversation. The authorities allowed them to bypass basic knowledge and, as a result, they didn't spend too much time studying and passing the examinations in Cryspus within 5 months.
If I remember correctly, but nobody explained details to me, the results of my parents' exams would be examined by PFRIC. They'll look, check our entire family criminal records before they give our passports to become Cryss citizens. The process may take a while, and over that time they'll look into whether our family will follow the rules. If we break the law, the work my parents put out every night to learn the Cryspus will be wasted. So my parents were extremely strict with me, especially my sister because she was always naughty. But at least that time has been rewarded adequately by a call from PFRIC, saying that we could have come for the passport.
Thinking a lot and getting lost makes me think of another problem. The Sabors:
-"Or maybe Monika had some kind of connection with The Sabors, borrowed an extensive amount of money to buy the passports, but couldn't pay her debts, so she was killed by them?"
Igor: "The possibility is quite low because all of Cryspus' passports have a code. They're stored in the districts. Monika's passport can be checked if it matches the rest of the codes. And if it doesn't..."
-"Can we eliminate The Sabors from the game and close this case."
Igor: "You really like games, don't you?" Igor chuckles and asked me.
-"Can't beat the quiet kid." I stand up and walk to the door.
When I opened the door, Louis walked into the room, touched my shoulder but did not look back. Instead, he looked at the board and sat down on a chair. The pale, frightened look had struck me and worried, for I had never seen Louis this way. I winced and closed the door as Igor got Louis a glass of water:
-"L-Louis, are you okay?" I hesitated, scared that I might disturb his mind. Louis gave me a cold, lifeless eye that made me feel insecure. He didn't answer, just shook his head.
Igor: "Have you seen something that terrified you?" Sergeant puts his hand on Louis' shoulder as Louis nods.
Before I could ask him what he'd seen, Louis raised a trembling, frightened voice. "I-I didn't e-expect…" He swallows his saliva.
-"What did you didn't expect?"
Louis: "We are… F-facing… A-a… Demon," Louis emphasize the last word.

I was Born the Unloved Twin
You've probably heard this sort of story before. Once upon a time, blah blah blah a boy and a girl fell love and everything was beautiful and perfect, except for this thing called life getting in their way. He was this cool foreign prince and she was basically perfect. Really it's a very boring run of the mill story. I'll even spoil it for you, they kill the villainess at the end. Not the type of story I'd read personally. So where do I fit into this?Apparently I'm her older twin sister and the very very lucky fiance to the foreign prince. You know, the dead villainess? Sucks I know. Now I get to do it all over again from the beginning.Curse my life ------ So you're somewhat interested in what this thing is about and looking to see if it's even worth reading? Let's get the worst of it out of the way first: This is a boring story, very tedious, mundane and downright just boring. It's too slow, the characters are too confusing & make possibly retarded choices. It's an isekai/reborn type Slice of Life novel that plays on the villainess noble girl trope but the MC gets no OP cheats, no magical powers, not even some satisfying face slapping or such self-fulfillment fantasy. Wow, I'm doing a terrible job advertising this thing. If you're somehow still interested, if you were ever interested how an average modern person, reborn with all their host's memories, could live out their life in this situation, mending personal relationships one step at a time, or wondered what happened in between all the time skips in other novels, maybe give Unloved Twin a try. This is an awkward novel, the pacing is slow, and there is no time skips. For some reason still, I really love this little story I'm making. Talk to me on: https://discord.gg/ARkSMFPbew
