I THINK I just lost all my sanity. It is a huge mistake. Looking at her first thing in the morning is the funniest thing I did since I met her.

What the heck? Is she trying to bring back time, being jologs and such? She is making things worse!

I cough a few times and looked away. I can’t handle my laughter and my stomach is starting to hurt. I feel like I’m going to throw up the breakfast I just had and die.

“What’s with the outfit, bitch?” I asked.

We are in her car. She called me earlier to stop by the school’s parking lot before going straight to class.

“Isn’t this your brother’s type?”

I want to laugh but her reason annoys me more.

“You’re so stupid. I said tomboy, not crazy. See the difference? And why would you try to become someone just to win my brother? That’s the worst thing a girl can do, ok? Don’t lower yourself, you’re-“

I stopped. She looks like she is happy with my words. I am not complimenting her!

“You’re such a good little sister-in-law,” she said.

I sighed. So this is what a hopeless romantic look like? Good thing I wasn’t like this. It’s embarrassing!

“Do you even understand what tomboy means, Miss?”

She rolled her eyes at me and pouted.

I give up. I can’t stand her. Yup, just do her a favor and let her out of my sight forever.

“Fine. After one date, don’t bother us, got it?”

DINNER TIME and it’s just me and my eldest brother, Liam, at the dining table. My other brother is out and maybe lost his sense of time.

“Bro, do you remember that girl I was with on the first day of school? When you pick me up?”

“Oh?”

As suspected, he wasn’t interested at all.

Liam is the eldest among the three. All he cares about is managing our business that was just starting. When our parents died, at the age of eighteen, he shouldered everything. He posed as a parent to two willful siblings. And ever since, he never had a girlfriend.

He has a well-built body. I’m not sure, but he looks like he has a lot of time to go to gyms than to look for a girlfriend. He’s twenty-five this year, does he have any plan to marry?

On the other hand, Nico is the complete opposite of Liam. They look so much alike that others think they are twins. But Nico is two years younger than Liam. And he is also a womanizer. He is just a few inches taller and thinner than Liam.

Nico is the one who taught me self-defense. He might think that I may encounter and become a victim of a womanizer like him.

While Liam gave his full support to our silliness, he never failed to remind us that there is a limit to everything.

And now, I am trying to try my limit.

“Can I give her your number?”

He looks at me. “If it’s about business, then go. If not, tell her to get lost.”

I feel sorry for Vyra. Nothing has even started, she’s already rejected.

“She had a crush on you.”

“It’s a given. I am a handsome bachelor, an ideal man for every woman. But sad to say, I am not interested in any girl because I am already engaged at the age of fifteen, to a girl I don’t even know I will…”

Now, this is news to me. “Seriously? Why? How? Whose plan was this?”

“It’s our parents’ decision. I’d rather keep the details for myself than bother you with it.”

“Wait, you don’t mind? What if that girl is kinda crazy or such-“

“It doesn’t matter. I trust our parents.”

Tsk. “As dense as ever.”

I stopped bothering him and continue my food. After a while, Nico came.

“Any news?” asked Liam.

Nico looked at me and shrugged. He then sat on his seat and our maid prepare him his meal.

“I see.”

Confused, I look at the two of them, “are you hiding something from me?”

“Don’t concern yourself about such trivial things. Our big brother just requested me to look for a girl willing to climb on his be-“

“Watch your mouth, Nico.”

Nico shut his mouth and start eating.

Liam then looks at me. “Don’t mind him. He’s just trying to put his ideals on me like you did just now.”

I rolled my eyes at him. I get it.

“It just means we are concerned about you. You are of age and still have no girlfriend. What if before you give your loyalty and faithfulness to the girl you don’t know but are already engaged to you, give yourself to enjoy with other girls? Maybe?”

“See? Even our little sister knows what you should do.”

“Don’t pour fuel to a dying fire, Nico. Lei is still a kid. She had once a boyfriend and that was it. She knows nothing about the real deal,” Liam said and drink a glass of water.

I lost my appetite hearing him say that.

I’m almost done with my meal but just remembering the past, I’d rather stare at it than put it in my mouth. My insides start to go wild and I feel like I’m going to throw up.

“Why bring it up, Liam?” Nico asked.

“Drink some water, Lei. Don’t force yourself.”

I sighed. I cannot let myself be beaten by this heartbreak and be a burden to my brothers. They are already busy as they were.

“I’m fine.” I smile to assure them.

I chug the water from the glass and stand up.

“I’m going to rest first, then,” I said and went to my room upstairs.

As I lay my body on the softness and bounciness of my bed, my mind flew to the time when our parents met their peace.

I was just thirteen back there. Right after I graduated from elementary, they left. Just like that, I lost my precious teen years that should be guided by my parents.

My brothers are not lacking when it comes to moral support and love, but it is different if it was our parents.

If only Mom was there, I won’t fall for that jerk.
