《Truth Behind The Glasses》Chapter 3: Mess

I COVERED my ears. I can feel my mind shaking from the shock. Aside from the loudness of Elvyra’s scream, she is shaking my body.
“OMG, I thought you’re really a nerd. So you are just in disguise?”
“Huh?” I asked, confused. I didn’t understand her at all. “Wait, will you stop shaking my body first? My head is spinning!”
She immediately let go of me.
I close my eyes and rub my temple. I feel like I will see double images if I open my eyes now.
“Breathe in, breathe out. Ok!” she said. I slowly open my eyes and look at her. “So girl, you were just acting like a nerd because of some guy who hurt you?”
“What are you talking about?”
I remember the opened folder. It is my diary!
I glare at her. “Don’t dare to tell anyone what you just saw, bitch!”
“Whoa, easy there bitch.” She looked at me from head to toes. “I won’t tell anyone, like duh? But can you tell me why?”
“Don’t act like we’re buddies and start asking why. Mind your own business.” I return her the favor and look at her as if I’m saying “she meddled too much.”
I flip my hair at her only to look back again at her. With my glamorous think brow raised and my almond eyes with their ebony color piercing through her soul, I said with a firm voice, “stay away from me.”
“Lei!”
I sighed. My brother is here, finally. I am so tired of dealing with this girl.
I am so tired of pretending.
BACK TO THE PRESENT…
I run as fast as I could as if my life will end in an instant if I stop.

This Elvyra girl is chasing me for a while now.
What does she want this time?
When I reached the oval of the campus, I slow down my pace and stop. I fill my precious lungs with air that will explode any moment now of loss of oxygen.
My gosh, I’m dying!
“Hah!”
I looked at Vyra, amazed. I didn’t know that she has lots of stamina in that super slim and sickly-looking body.
“Do you want to kill me, you bitch?!” I shout at her.
Her whole face is so red, even her long hair is a mess. Her nose enlarged and in a count of three, she’s going to fire.
“I should be the one asking you that, bitch! As you can see, I am wearing a fuvking two-inch heels, ad then you run?” she retorted. She is out of breath.
“How come that it’s my fault?”
She raises her hand at me. “Give me a second. I’m dying.
She gulped a few times while still breathing heavily.
“One. Two. Three.”
“Why are you counting? Just wait patiently, will you!”
Oh, who would have thought that having her around will be entertainment for my boring life?
“I was just going to say that Jhon Lei released a new story. You can feel all his emotions in his prologue. I’m so in love I will cry. Hug me, bitch. Comfort me, come on!”
I rolled my eyes at her. I take my words back. She’s not entertainment, she’s a curse.
“What the heck?”
It’s Saturday and we are not required to wear our uniforms. So Vyra has the guts to act like a queen by wearing flashy clothes and heels.
Even though I am into those clothes, too, I am wearing checkered roll-sleeves and black pants, and match them with white sneakers. I wanted to avoid attention as much as I could.

I take a sit on the bench near a tree. It’s cloudy but the heat from the sun is penetrating my skin. It hurts.
I look back at Vyra. What is she talking about?
“Don’t tell me you didn’t know that famous writer?”
She looks at me like she can’t believe that I don’t know the writer.
I really don’t.
“Oh my gosh, girl! As handsome as he is, you don’t know? Just the lower face, from his pointed nose to his broad shoulders, I can tell he’s yummy! But of course, I will choose your brother a thousand times,” she said with puppy eyes.
“Oh, shut up!”
It happened when my brother pick me up after school, Vyra became so attracted to him, and that was two weeks ago! After I gave her a death glare, I thought that I will enjoy my peaceful school days, but the situation got worse.
She didn’t leave me alone. She stopped insulting me, but I might want it instead.
She keeps on asking me to set her a date with my brother!
I told my brother to let our driver drive me from and to the school. I can’t let him show his face when Vyra is around.
“Girl, please? I promise, after one date, I’ll stop bothering you. Please? I’m so pretty please?”
Even her vocabulary became a mess after her heart.
I sighed.
“You know what? You’re the type of girl my brother won’t take a glance for a second. So don’t bother. Asking me a favor is useless, even if I set thousands of blind dates for you. Now, get lost!”
“That hurts, you know?! Do you hate me that much? I am a good person.”
She whammed my shoulder with her bare hands. I am losing my patience. Good person, my ass!
“Will you stop it?!” She sat beside me, not even bothered by how annoyed I was.
Her half-exposed thighs are rubbing with each other as if she’s suppressing her urge to pee.
Whatever she’s doing is not effective, it’s disgusting!
“So… what is it that your brother wants for a girlfriend?”
“Not clingy.”
“I’m not clingy, I swear!” she said and raised her right hand.
“Tomboy.”
“What the fuvk! Is your brother gay?”
I smirked. She won’t win my brother’s attention. She is far from being a tomboy. Well, I just made it up but it is better than saying “I don’t know.” It is also to stop her.
She looked down, helplessly.
I laughed at the back of my mind as I look at her pathetic state. I won.
She looks at me with her teary eyes, and that just makes my grin wider.
“You’re lying. You’re grinning like a devil, bitch!”
“I’m not lying, but you can say I’m a devil.”
